Chapter 1 The Premonition of Awakening

2006.

Myron, New York State.

This is a quiet town with a small population, the neighbors are very familiar, the folk customs are good, and the houses are not closed at night.

Just in the southwest of this town is a small two-story building where the Jones family of three lives.

Richard Jones is the backbone of the family, with a virtuous wife who works in the supermarket and a fourteen-year-old son, Ivan Jones, who has just finished junior high school.

In the morning, Ivan was adding fodder to more than a dozen cows in the cowshed. This is what his family does, running animal husbandry.

Usually, the family seldom let him do this, because he is weak, and only let him concentrate on his studies, but recently he graduated from junior high school and his father went out, so this work can only fall on him.

"It seems that in the future, I will be a rancher. This is a remote town. As long as I don't go to the big city, it should not be so bad."

Ivan muttered while working. He was only fourteen years old, but he was in awe of the world.

Because he is an out-and-out traverser, and through various signs, he has learned that this may be an unstable world.

It has been fourteen years, from the apprehension and discomfort of infancy to complete acceptance now.

Just like the restart of life, elementary school and junior high school are all over again. The only difference is the culture and region, as well as one's own health.

Thinking of the young man who was tortured by the illness in the intensive care unit in his last life, it was like a dream.

Fortunately, this family treats him very well, and he lives happily every day.

The wind blows the fallen leaves in the shed, everything is so natural.

"Breakfast should be cold."

He likes less hot food, so he deliberately hangs his breakfast in the house.

Reaching out his hand, he intended to push open the wooden door of the cowshed, but before his hand touched the door, the door was blown open by a gust of breeze.

The wooden door is stuck there, and it needs some force to be pushed open. How can the breeze blow it open?

Shaking his head helplessly, he was accustomed to these unreasonable things happening around him.

Back in the house, sitting alone at the dining table drinking warm milk, eating biscuits, there is still work to do today.

"I'm going to high school soon, I hope everything will be fine in the future."

At noon, there was a sound of the key opening the door.

"Hey! Boy, look what I brought you back!"

After hearing this, Ivan turned off the TV and came out of the inner room to greet his father.

"Dad, what's a good thing?" Ivan had a sincere smile on his face. Every time his cheap dad said this, there must be something he really liked.

I saw Richard Jones standing in the doorway with his right hand on the shoulder of a strange girl in front of him.

"Her name is Jessica, she is the daughter of my old friend, but because of some accidents, she is going to live with us. Treat her as a sister." Richard introduced to Ivan.

"Hello..." Jessica greeted in a low voice.

She has a delicate and lovely face, black hair and bright black eyes.

This aspect is the same as Ivan.

In terms of age, she should be about the same age as Ivan.

"Uh..." Ivan froze for a moment, "Hello, Jessica."

"She's fourteen, and I'll enroll you in the same high school if I can, so you can take care of each other, oh Jessica, I'll show you to your room."

Richard said and led Jessica upstairs. At the end, he suddenly turned around and asked, "By the way, how are the animals today?"

"It's good, it's all fed." Ivan nodded.

"Have you got the eggs? Did you disturb the hens?"

"It's all right."

"You are the best." Richard winked at Ivan.

It's almost time for dinner,

It was drizzling outside, and Ivan's mother, Jenny, also got off work from the supermarket.

"Hey, Jenny, aren't you getting wet?" Richard came out of the kitchen to greet his beautiful wife, dressed in an apron and holding a frying spoon in his hand, like a housewife.

"Dear, no, where's Jessica? Did you get it back?" Jenny responded, and then went to ask about Jessica. It seemed that she had known Jessica for a long time and knew about it.

Ivan set up the dining chair, thinking that he didn't know that there was going to be a new sister in the family.

"I got it back, she's fine, she's just a little down," Richard said.

"It's normal to go through this kind of thing, so when I go to work, you have to talk to her more, okay dear?" Jenny hung her off coat on the hanger on the wall.

"Understood, I understand."

"Ivan, look what I brought back, chocolate milk bars." After Ivan's mother Jenny entered the hall, the first thing she did was to take out six chocolate bars from the leather bag with a smile and hand them to Ivan.

She brings some delicious food to Ivan every day after get off work in the supermarket.

She looked at Ivan with a smile, leaned down and said in Ivan's ear, "Give it to Jessica."

"Good mother."

Even if Jenny didn't say it, Ivan wouldn't eat them alone.

The rain outside the window was getting heavier and heavier, and Ivan grabbed the chocolate bar and went up to the second floor.

There are two rooms on the second floor, one is his own room, and the other is with the door closed, and Jessica should be in it.

'Dong dong'.

Knocked twice.

"Jessica, it's almost dinner time."

"Yeah." The person inside responded, not intending to open the door.

"Uh, can you open the door?"

The door is locked, Ivan asked while looking at the chocolate bar in his hand.

But no one in the room answered.

There must be some misfortune in the family of this younger sister, who I just recognized today, so that she has to live here.

No matter what kind of misfortune it was, it must have had a psychological impact on her. Will she be unable to think about it?

Thinking of this, Ivan's heart jumped, and the door suddenly opened.

Inside the room, Jessica was sitting on the bed in her underwear, clutching the quilt.

"Uh, do you want to eat a chocolate bar?" Ivan gestured at the chocolate bar in his hand.

"You, did you open it with a key?" Jessica asked timidly, but she locked the room door inside.

"Well, it's time for dinner."

"I, I'm not feeling well, I don't want to eat dinner," Jessica said.

"Well... eat a few of these." Ivan said, and threw out four chocolate bars. The four chocolate bars crossed an arc in mid-air and fell precisely into Jessica's right heart.

Jessica was surprised that Ivan threw it too accurately, and the four chocolate bars were controlled to fall into her hands exactly as if there was some magic in them.

"Thank you," Jessica said.

"My name is Ivan." Ivan smiled at Jessica, his smile full of vigor, "You're welcome, just treat this as your own home."

Ivan went downstairs, Richard and Jenny had already finished their work in the kitchen, and the whole table was filled with a sumptuous dinner.

"Where's Jessica? Isn't she coming down?" Jenny asked softly.

"She said she was not feeling well and didn't want to eat dinner." Ivan reported truthfully.

"This child, skipping dinner will hurt her body even more. I'll call her." Jenny said and went upstairs.

The rain outside was heavier, and Ivan pushed out the door, intending to cover the old motorcycle at home with a transparent cloth.

He picked up the transparent cloth and quickly ran to the motorcycle, covering the transparent cloth.

The rain poured down, but as if avoiding Ivan on purpose, not a drop fell on him.
