A Villainess's Struggles

Chapter 21 - The Villainess is Responsible...?

To be honest...The trip wasn't THAT bad. I mean, I might've taken way too many pictures there, oops...

I will be going into grade 4 today. Time went by really quick, living my life as a rich lady is so nice...

My younger brother will also be attending my school. Lately for some reason, he keeps calling me strange. Is he already in his rebellion period??? I'm pretty sure I'm a normal girl! I don't remember the last time I did something weird in this life.

In my new class, Angelina was with me. Olivia and Anna were in another class. I'm glad I have a friend this year... Yes, I just admitted that Angelina is my friend. Over the years, she has m.a.t.u.r.ed a lot. She is a better example of a lady than me (according to mother). I wonder what made her change?

This year, Henry and Blake were finally separated. They've been together since kindergarten...Separating them is cruel! I ended up getting the more troublesome one in my class. Henry looked mad when he found out that Blake wasn't with him. Is he your only friend???

Allen was also in the other class. Hopefully he makes some other friends.

In grade 4, we need to have student representatives for our class. There would be 2 representatives per class. These students help out with the student council in the school. The student council would have a president who's usually a 6th grader. Every president in this school is selected by the teachers. He/She would always be a top student that teachers like.

The president this year is a girl who is the daughter of a family that owns one of the best restaurants in the country. I don't remember her name but she is rumored to be a very smart lady and is also very beautiful. Sounds like a typical villainess, welcome to the club.

My grade 4 teacher asked the class if they wanted to nominate any student representative for our class. A girl rose her hand and shouted "Henry!" while the rest of the girls clapped. The teacher sighed and wrote Henry's name on the board. Henry looked like he didn't care even though he was forced to become a student representative.

As for the other representative, many people fought for it. Not just the girls. All the guys were saying stuff like "My dad said so...", "It's for the sake of the company!", "I might get disowned!". The last one was a bit extreme...

In the end, the class decided to do a draw for the second representative. Whoever draws out a red paper becomes the student representative.

I BEG THE GODS, PLEASE DON'T LET ME DRAW RED! I'VE BEEN A GOOD GIRL FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. I'M EVEN CONSIDERING BECOMING A NUN! SO PLEASE!

Angelina drew a white paper from the box.

"Oh looks like I'm not the representative. Too bad I guess" said Angelina.

No no no, you're very lucky. Legend says that drawing a red paper would be the end of us two. Villainesses like us should never have a chance to be with the male lead.

When it was my turn to draw, I decided to take the first paper I touched.

I pulled out the paper...

It was white!

SAFE! THE GODS HAVE BLESSED ME!!

But after I got my white paper, some guy said,

"Oops, I forgot to put in the red paper, sorry guys redraw..."

T-This idiot! I just used up all my luck for this year! How could you do this to me??? If I draw out the red paper, I'm going to make sure you suffer!

The class ended up doing a redraw. This time, I decided to take out a paper before Angelina.

Now my gods, please bless me again. I will be a good girl, I promise...!

I closed my eyes and pulled out a paper from the box.

"..."

"Oh Natalie, it's red" said Angelina.

"I can tell Angelina...." I smiled painfully.

"So Natalie will be the other representative" said the teacher.

I curse this world. I curse that idiot that forgot about the red paper. I curse everything.

I glanced at Henry and he looked back at me. It looked like he didn't care at all. Wow, I'm so irrelevant in his life.

L-Let me try getting out of this bad luck.

"Teacher, I believe that there are other students who would do a better job. I would like to give my opportunity to someone else. Is that okay?" I asked.

"Really? But Natalie, your previous teachers said you were responsible and reliable." responded the teacher.

What?! Me?! Did my previous teachers team up to lie to you?

"That can't be, I'm not as great as they say..." I replied.

"It's your chance to become great then! Good luck with becoming a representative, I believe in you!" the teacher smiled.

My invisible tears are falling down again. Thanks for the encouragement teacher...

"Congratulations Natalie!" smiled Angelina.

"T-Thank you....." I said.

Grade 4 is going to be hell.
