A Villainess's Struggles

Chapter 38 - The Villainess's Tiring Day

"Hey, why were you gone for so long?" Asked Henry with an unhappy face.

"I was just greeting my family...Sorry" I apologized.

"You still have to go deliver this to the other grade 5 class and order these doc.u.ments before lunch. Please finish on time" said Henry.

...Yes sir, and after I do this task, I'd like to quit the student council please.

I immediately started rushing towards the other class and afterwards I started organizing the doc.u.ments. I swear I'm aging way faster than your ordinary kid! I can feel my wrinkles on my face.

Before I knew it, lunch started.

Today I tried eating in the student council room with the other members. The only sounds I could hear from the room are typing noises, writing noises, and paper flipping noises.

No one was eating their lunch. It's kind of awkward for me to start eating when no one else is...

I'm so hungry...

Oh I have an idea!

"I'll be going to the washroom for a bit" I said as I took my backpack with me.

~~~~~
I'm not going to go the washroom because I'm going to eat lunch while I can. I sat on the ground near a staircase that people rarely go to.
I started eating my lunch.
Lunch has never tasted so good before. Food really is more delicious when I'm hungry.
"Eh, Natalie? I thought you went to the washroom" a voice called out to me.
"Blake?!" I shouted and started choking on what I was eating.
I started chugging down water.
Shoot, I forgot Blake was there. That was very unladylike!
"Are you okay? Rather, why are you sitting on the floor eating lunch?" asked Blake.
"Hahaha... Please don't tell anyone" I painfully smiled.
"If you wanted to eat, you could've just ate in the student council room" said Blake.
"With an atmosphere like that, how's someone supposed to eat?" I sighed.
"Oh... Sorry about that" He frowned.
"Then I shall use the other stair case, sorry to disturb you" Blake said as he left.
I think that was quite rude of me. I kind of lashed out my tiredness at Blake.
Ugh, now I can't return to the student council room peacefully.
~~~~~

I stood in front of the room wondering what to do.

Here goes nothing.

I open the door only to find that Blake was not back yet.

I sighed and sat back on my seat and resumed back to work.

~~~~~
Before I knew it, it was already 5 o'clock. It was about time for the event to end. Blake never came back to the student council room. I wonder where he went? It seems like neither Allen or Henry noticed or even cared at all.
I looked out the window and saw the final performance held by the sixth graders. They sang and danced to a very familiar tune.
This song existed back in my previous life...!
It really does bring back a lot of memories...
"We're done here" said Henry suddenly.
"Finally" Allen said as he stretched.
"You two are free to go enjoy the final bits of the event" said Henry.
"Oh, what about you, Henry?" I asked.
"I'll be there in a bit, I just need to confirm something with the teachers" replied Henry.
Allen and I nodded and left the student council room.
~~~~~

We walked around the school to see the many attractions that the classes have put up. Everyone looked like they were having lots of fun. Allen and I decided to visit our restaurant to see how it's going.

What the?! D-Don't tell me!

"H-Hey Allen, is t-that Blake there?" I asked.

"Mhm, that's Blake, is there something wrong?" Allen answered.

Everything's wrong! Why is he cooking?!

"Natalie, you see, while you were in the washroom, there was a problem in our restaurant. The food we ordered was delayed due to traffic so we didn't know what to do. No one knew how to cook until Blake stepped up and decided to help out. In the end, the food never came so Blake had to stay here" Allen explained.

"Blake knows how to cook?" I responded.

"That shocked me a bit as well. I remember him saying that it was a secret" Allen said.

The students from our class guided us to a seat and we were served our food.

I took a bite of the chicken that was served.

Damn it, it tastes really good. His cooking tastes better than what I cooked back in my past life. I remember the good old days where I ate instant noodles almost everyday for dinner during exam period. If I say a word about instant noodles in this life, mother would definitely not let me off.

After eating, an announcement was made.

"This concludes the WoodLily event. Thank you to everyone for attending"

I'm pretty sure that's Henry's voice.

I went home with my mother and Richard. We had a very fun conversation together.

Honestly, today was very tiring but I enjoyed the last bit of the event. I'm not sure if I want to experience this again next year. From what I can tell, Richard seemed quite happy with the event. He said that he wanted to attend it again next year. For the sake of my little brother, maybe I'll try enduring another day of hard work.
