A Villainess's Struggles

Chapter 40 - The Villainess's Curiousity

A few days later, I got better and was able to go to school.

Hopefully I didn't miss too much class or else it'd take a while to catch up.

~~~~~
The moment I stepped into my class, I could see everyone staring at me.
Is there something on my face? I know I've been absent for just a few days but to attract this much attention...?
A group of girls walked up towards me and stared at me.
"Hey, you're Natalie right?" asked the girl who I assumed is the leader of the group.
Hmm... Isn't she that pretty gentle-looking girl... May, was it? From the event if I remember correctly.
"Yes that's me, do you need something from me?" I replied.
The girl in front of me smiled slightly almost as if she was sneering. Then, her expression changed immediately.
"Are you okay? I heard that you collapsed while you were working in the student council. I was so worried for you! I'm glad to see you come back to school. Is it anything serious though?" She said as she wiped the tears in her eyes.
Huh...?!
I looked at her confused.
"Oh my, I apologize! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is May Mcbeth. I hope we can get along" May smiled as she stretched out her hand towards me.
I shook her hand and awkwardly smiled back.
"Thank you for worrying May. I'm fine now. Have a nice day" I said as I bowed and went towards my seat.
"Tch, that girl clearly thinks she's superior than you! Just because her family's rich" a voice came from behind me.
"Don't mind her, May. You were so kind to even ask about her and that girl completely ignored you!" One of the other girls in the group said.
"Girls, don't be like that. It's not her fault, okay? Remember that she just came back from the hospital" May replied.
"May~ You're too kind! Don't befriend someone like that rude girl Natalie" the girls continued.
"Hey." I said as I turned around.
"W-What do you want?" the lady to the left of May asked.
"If you want to talk trash about me, say it to my face. Don't act like I can't hear you" I frowned.
"What! We-"
"I apologize on behalf of these ladies! Please don't get mad over this small matter. It won't happen again..." May interrupted.
"... Please don't do this again" I responded and went to sit down on my seat.
Even after the former student council president graduates, I still have to deal with these kinds of girls. Who is the real villainess here?
I need to stay away from that May girl. She's pretty much two-faced and it's quite obvious. Was she even relevant in the comic "A Commoner's Struggles"? With her personality, probably not.
The classroom door opened and I could see sparkles walking in. Hey, it's the three princes-pfft I shouldn't call them this since it makes me laugh so easily. They all started walking towards me.
"Natalie, how have you been?" Allen asked.
"It was just a small fever, nothing too serious" I answered.
"Don't do that again. You got everyone in the student council room scared" Henry sighed.
"Sorry about that" I apologized.
"Glad to see that you got better though. Here are some notes from the previous classes that you missed" Blake handed to me.
My lord, my saviour! I don't talk to anyone in this class and I don't have the courage to ask them! I'm happy that I don't have to go through the hardsh.i.p.s of trying to ask for notes!
"Thank you" I smiled.
Blake stayed silent for a second or two...
"You're welcome" he smiled back.
What was that silence for...?
I could feel the glares directed towards me again. I swear it's not my fault! I never asked to be involved with them, they're the ones that come to me. I need to get them away from me before I get even more girls coming after me.
"H-Hey, you guys should go back to your seats. Class is going to start soon" I tried persuading.
"Hmm that's right. Henry, let's go" Allen nodded.
Sometimes I feel as if Allen and Henry have this questionable 'friendship'... It's definitely something more than friendship! Right now they're laughing together about something... I shouldn't go further than this as they're related so they're best friends, okay? Only best friends. But, if they're best friends, wouldn't that mean Blake got demoted?
I looked over towards Blake who was sitting next to me.
You've been through a lot with Henry but he, your former best friend, betrays you for his cousin. I feel so bad for you...
"Natalie, why are you looking at me like that?" He asked.
"It's okay. It must've been hard being replaced" I sighed.
"Don't think of any weird ideas please..." Blake looked away.
"S-Speaking of which, is Allen engaged now?" I tried changing the topic.
I just stepped on a landmine. That was supposed to be a prohibited topic.
"....That's right. That dude is engaged to my older sister now" He frowned.
"Eh? Why and when?" I asked.
"It was decided just recently to 'form a bond' between our families" Blake answered.
He seems very mad right now. Blake must be very close with his older sister.
"Oh but don't worry, they won't get married. I know they won't" He said.
Right after he finished that sentence, the teacher started class.
Hmm, I'd like to meet Blake's older sister someday. I'm just curious... I know I said I'd stop getting involved with them but...
