Absolute Loyalty

"Can't believe we are walking to defeat monsters in iron armor with sword. Sigh... this is sad"

"Come on Cass don't ruin the moment! I almost heard epic music in background, yet you just had to complain. Don't you have any romance of the man? "

"Yeah, yeah. I knew you were kind of crazy, but to walk into enemy territory so brazenly just before big battle... I believe it is finally time for us to go see a doctor."

Itami walked through the forest with great trouble. Every time he takes a step forward he could hear sound of his armor clattering, sound of twigs crushing underneath his feet and his own unsteady heavy breath. Little horned squirrels run through the tree branches here and there, giving him bizarre feeling.

Although Itami knew they were in different world, until now he didn't really see much difference between this world and old one. But now, in the forest he could see many new things such as winged snakes, a bird with many eyes like spiders, huge spiders making whole tree their nest, finger sized jumping ants and a bizarre animal that could hover in the air eventhough it has no wings of sort.

Only after seeing these strange creatures did he fully accept that he were in different world with different nature and rules. Hovering in the air without wings , that fox like creature must have some kind of gravity negating ability...

It seems I need to alter my way of thinking, common sense and science of my world can't really explain strange things of this world, Is it because existence of unique energy called 'Mana'? If I remember right, that black robed guy explained this energy exists only here in this world...

"Doctor huh, If i remember right, Kael and you have taken to therapist around 9 year old right? You two never told me what happened that day"

Although they could remember what happened to the body and conversation with other people when they wake from sleep, If the both observer and one currently at conrol decides to hide a part of memory, others won't be able to know about it.

Itami found about their visit to therapist when their father slipped some words about it when he were drunk.

"Just give up about it, nothing special happened that day... just the guy we met then said something strange to us"

"It is because you 2 are hiding it, I can't help but to be curious... why hide from me? and that is biggest question"

"Well, just believe me on this, it is better for you to not know about it"

"That is just not fair, This kind of thing makes me crazy! Wait... you hear that? "

Itami could hear sound of multiple roars and wimpers of beasts in the distant. It is like some fight is going on somewhere near to him.

"Yeah, probably some of wolfman are fighting against each other. It is little to the left, so what is your plan? What are you here for anyway Itami?"

"Well I just couldn't wait.. I wanted to see exactly what wolfman looked like. Isn't it exciting that we get to see werewolf? "

"Really? Did you risk our life just too see wolfman? You will see them anyway if you just wait for little longer... Besides they are not werewolf. Werewolf is a human who could transform into wolf right? Wolfman are just wolves with lot better intelligence and lot bigger than one in our world"

"You really lack romance, not having it is almost equals with being d.i.c.kless you know"

"Oh shut up"

"Well, I am going in Cass! If something happens take over immediately and do sometthing with that speed of yours"

Itami started to walk to the source of the sound, he tried to make no sound as much as possible. As he walk, the sound of fierce battle between beasts got louder and louder, growls, roars, splashes and wimpers echoed through the woods.

Finally he arrived at the place where he could see what is going on, ten or so very wolf like creatures were fighting against two huge bear like creatures.

Wolf like creature are probably what people call Wolfman, they seem to have average height of 2.5 meter and their front legs are almost two times longer than back ones making them look like gorillas if not for their wolf shaped heads. They had 2 huge sharp fangs almost reaching 20 cm making them look very savage, and worse their claws are colored black and were 2 times longer than their fangs.

No wonder soldiers are afraid of them, basically humans are no match against them. In fact it is almost to the point to ask, how did people manage to survive with these kind of beasts around them? Well answer to that question is obvious, the blessing of gods. Without that humans would be like rabbits, hiding and shivering whenever these beasts come around.

And those bear like creatures were even fierce, having huge body of 4.5 meters height without standing these guys are like immovable mountain. With so much fur covering their body attacks from Wolfman seems to be ineffective for them, and more importantly on top of being huge they are very fast.

Whenever they swipe, all Itami could see is a blur and a wolfman falling down in two parts. It seems these two bear like creature already killed around 10 or so before he came here, and they killed 4 out of 10 wolfman in short time he were spectating them.

Their claws are not longer than wolfman's but whenever they swipe they could slice Wolfman in two... how are they even doing it? And two more wolfman are down, now only 4 more left.

Surprisingly enough wolfman are not running away and kept attacking bear like creatures with blood shot eyes.

It seems they are frenzied so much by the battle, they lost all of the reasoning, simply throwing themselves at their enemy.

3 of wolfman charged at a bear like creature while one keeping other bear like creature busy.

Bear like creature roared loudly freezing 2 wolfman at his front and charged at them with amazing speed, almost on par with speed of Cass. It felt like huge boulder going forward with speed of bullet, 2 poor wolfman now lay in the ground, painting it red with their brain and insides splattered everywhere.

Bear like creature didn't do much, he just run over them.Meanwhile other one took care of one wolfman easily so there is only one Wolfman left to deal with.

Wolfman roared loudly and sped up towards one of the bear like creature. The bear just smashed him to the ground with one of his arms. And there left nothing but wolfman corpses in various pitiful form.

"Damn, what are those things? Their speed and strength are abnormal! If it were just strength and big body it is acceptable, but what is with that speed? All I can manage to see is blur! "

"Itami, we better return now. If they find us we will end up just like those meat scattering over there"

"True, let's return. Forest is lot more dangerous than I thought! "

Itami turned back and slowly retreated taking a step at a time, trying to not to make any sound and alert those beasts. But just as he were about to take off running he heard a person talking in loud voice.

"Father, are you okay?" young voice echoed through the woods.

"Hn!" other voice grunted "Who do you think I am? Few puppies can't put a scratch on me! And I am not so weak for you to worry about"

Old one's voice were haughty and croaky but younger one still continued with worried tone

"But father, earlier when 7 of them jumped at you, it seemed like one got you good on your back"

"Cough" old one coughed once and said "Damned pup managed to stuck one of its dirty teeth through my skin, but it is not worth mentioning, it is already healed without trace"

"Father please let me handle things like this, you didn't need to jump in, i could have easily handle them by myself. You are already so old, just stay at home and watch over village kids like a proper elder would!"

"Hn! Talking big like a man eh? Where are my grandchildren then? If only you could marry and make couple of them, I would be more than happy to watchover them! "

Itami crept back and glanced at them. At the center of blood shed, stood two tall and n.a.k.e.d figures talking with each other.

"Are they the beasts from earlier? Really? Cass Casss Caaasss!"

"What!? I am still here listening, you don't have to yell so much"

"They are able to transform into 4 meter huge beasts! I found real were beasts! I want to see them transform so much! What should I do? Should I attack them, if I do so they will transform right?"

"Oi oi stop with those dangerous thoughts, If they realize us being here and attack, we will be unable to do anything against them, unless we wake Isano"

"Bu... but they are humans who could transform you know! I really want to see"

"If we wake Isano because of that, we will be unable to participate in the war and you will lose your chance to earn bounty on White Devil, since we will be unable to take control back from Isano for 3 whole days"

"Arghhhh I don't really care about bounty now, but promise with Elea... arghhh whyyy this is sooo cruel"

While Itami and Cass were talking, the n.a.k.e.d guys put on clothes which they pulled out of a bag.

"They are not from Ryusarfang's , their younglings are lot tougher than this, at least contract is not broken by these puppies."

"Father, I heard human towns nearby got attacked by Wolfman's and there are lot of refugees heading to Sun city. Are these ones from that pack? "

"Yes, Ryusarfang is not stupid enough to break contract with us, if we were to fight, we will both suffer heavy losses with no gains. So these puppies must be from different pack who doesn't even know our existence"

"So what are we going to do? From the looks of it their whole pack will be coming here since this guys are just scouts "

"Hn! Hunting in our territory... Let's go back and I will discuss this with other elders"

"Okay"

Both of them disappeared into the woods.
