1572 Drained After A Fight

"Would you look at that, he's fine." Klaus commented as he saw Grey sending the puppet flying from the side of his eye.

"Hey bud, why don't you come back, I can deal with the puppet." He yelled and retreated in Grey's direction.

Grey didn't mind Klaus' intentions to dump the lady on him, to be honest, he didn't see anything wrong with that. Klaus wasn't on the same level as the lady, and in a matter of a few seconds, he was beaten to such a state.

Grey shot up from the ground, heading straight to the lady like a missile. The explosiveness of his speed whenever he used his physical strength made him even faster than the lady for the first time since the start of the battle. The lady couldn't keep up with him and he managed to get a clean strike on her, making her retreat a few steps back as a gash appeared on her left arm, just above her elbow.

The lady looked at Grey's condition, stumped, she couldn't believe he not only survived that detonation even after being so close to it, but he was still able to unleash an even greater speed and attack as well.

'What sort of freaks are these kids?' The lady looked at them once again and couldn't help but feel like engaging them in a battle was a mistake.

"Impressed? I have a very tough body." Grey could see the shock in the lady's eyes, so he said.

"Very tough indeed. I'll break you soon enough." The lady attacked, using the darkness element to attack.

She made a scythe as she slashed out with it.

Klaus tossed a thin sword over to Grey and yelled, "Don't break it!"

The chill coming off the blade of the sword was outstanding. This was the sword Klaus acquired in the same secret realm Grey obtained the armor.

Grey used his icy flames to wrap the blade of the sword and attacked.

Klaus went on to fight with the puppet. He heaved a sigh of relief, and almost wanted to scream in joy that he was no longer fighting with someone who was overpowering him, but someone he could overpower now.

Grey and the lady exchanged attacks, while Klaus dealt with the puppet. It didn't take long for him to deal with it. The puppet had taken significant damage from Grey's attack, so all he needed to do was deal the finishing blow.

With the puppet gone, the duo teamed up on the lady. She could handle one of them, but fighting the two simultaneously was a little too much as she started to sustain injuries.

Klaus was a devious individual, unlike Grey, he didn't attack the usual way, each of his attacks were ones that forced the lady to either take his attacks, or Grey's attacks. There was no way around it, either she took Grey's attacks, or she took Klaus' own.

Klaus' attacks seemed to be the most sensible option at first, but as time went on, she started to notice her movement was slowing down. The only reason she has been able to keep up with the duo was because of her speed, with her speed gone, she was at the mercy of Grey.

"You tricked me." She looked at Klaus.

"No, you allowed yourself to be tricked, don't put the blame on me." Klaus reiterated.

The battle continued, and what was worse was that they were at the peak of the battle, there was no way for her to escape. Klaus and Grey were relentless, attacking in a never-ending manner.

A minute later, the lady could barely move and was completely drained under the duo's combined effort.

"Like I said, I don't lose these types of bets." Grey said as the lady collapsed on the ground.

The lady wasn't the only one to collapse to the ground, both Grey and Klaus fell on their knees as well, they were exhausted. The fight took a lot from them. Even though they had the advantage after disposing of the puppets, the lady was still a Third stage expert who was able to land a few blows on the duo.

"Do it…" The lady said while laying on the ground, helpless. She lost, and losing in such a manner meant she would be killed by the duo.

"Actually, I have other ideas." Grey was still panting, but he rose to his feet.

The lady breathed heavily and Grey noticed a figure about to attack him from behind. He smiled and looked at the lady.

"I was waiting for when you would bring out your hidden weapon."

The lady felt a draining backlash as she coughed out a mouthful of blood.

"Grey Dawson." She muttered weakly.

"In the flesh."

"Now I see the reason for your confidence."

The lady finally understood why she felt they were familiar. She had heard about the genius Grey Dawson who was wanted dead by the Gnomes and his talented friends.

She never expected that she would encounter these people in such a manner. And after battling with them, she felt they indeed deserved to be called the best geniuses the Continent has ever had.

"What do you want?" The lady asked, she knew there was no point in trying to struggle with Grey and it would be futile.

Grey didn't kill her even after forcefully cutting off her link with the puppet she kept hidden which meant he didn't have any plans to do so.

"You'll see." Grey sealed her cultivation before finally calming down. He was drained, this was one of the toughest battles he has fought over the years.

He was used to fighting with people at most a stage above him, and in the Sovereign Plane, the gap between a First and Second stage Sovereign is clear as day, so entangling a Third stage Sovereign could be termed as suicidal, yet with the help of his friends, he won. Alone, his chances against this lady were almost zero, unless he takes advantage of the fact that he could immobilize her for a second or two thanks to her being a Necromancer.
