Chapter 10: He Chengyang seemed to be angry again!

══════════════════

At 9 p.m., He Chengyang opened the iron door and found the house in total darkness.

His eyebrows were furrowed and his face revelead an extremely unhappy expression.

He said he would come over for dinner this afternoon, and yet his words they fell on deaf ears?

Pah!

He Chengyang pressed the switch vigourously and the lights flared up abruptly.

The sudden sound and light woke the sleeping Xu Zhun, whose head was buried in the crook of his arm, and he slowly lifted it.

He squinted slightly and when he adjusted to the light, he saw He Chengyang who was changing his shoes in the entrance hall.

“Mr. He, you’ve come!”

He Chengyang looked up and met Xu Zhun’s bright eyes and saw the delight in the bottom of his eyes.

His heart leapt for no reason, and his original complaints could not be uttered, while a certain strange feeling grew in his chest.

“Why are you sleeping here?”

He Chengyang walked over and glanced at the table.

When he saw that Xu Zhun had prepared the food as he had ordered, his face eased up a lot: “The cooking seems to be alright.”

“Sit down while I heat up the food.”

Xu Zhun brought He Chengyang a cup of tea and went to the kitchen with the plates to heat them up.

He Chengyang took off his jacket and sat down on the sofa.

The plain wooden sofa was a bit old, the paint of the armrests was peeling and thus revealing the colour of the original wood inside, looking drab and worn-out.

He Chengyang was disgusted to death: “What kind of crap sofa is this? How can a person even sit on it?”

Xu Zhun scrambled to take a cushion and spread it on the sofa, “Just lay the cushion on, it’s very soft and comfortable.”

“What’s this crap?” He Chengyang pulled the cushion and threw it on the ground before giving it a nasty kick, “Can this kind of thing be used as a cushion? You’re just fooling me with this kind of rubbish, aren’t you?”

Xu Zhun picked up the mat and carefully set it up.

He had made the cushion with wool and filled it with a special kind of cotton, which he had tried and found to be very comfortable and soft. But He Chengyang didn’t like it, he even got disgusted.

Xu Zhun knew that there was a big gap between the two of them. He Chengyang was a wealthy man, and any random piece of furnishings in his house had to be expensive, so naturally he could not bear to see the cheap things in his house.

He was just a struggling citizen at the bottom of the social ladder, how could he compare with the golden young master He.

“Change this sofa, the next time I come, I don’t want to see it.”

He Chengyang’s tone was unquestionable.

Xu Zhun’s weak smile was tinged with shame, “It’s just a little bit worn on the surface, but it’s actually still usable.”

“It’s still useful, my ass!” He Chengyang sulked, “You’ve been working for so long and you don’t even have the money to change a sofa? I really don’t know where you’ve spent all the money you’ve earned? Xu Zhun, did you use the money to go out to and hire MB?” (Note: Chinese slang for Money-boys, or rent-boys.)

Xu Zhun waved his hands in terror, “No! No, I really didn’t!”

He Chengyang snorted out, “That’s right! I’m the only one who can satisfy you that slutty ass of yours!”

Xu Zhun hung his head, not daring to answer.

He Chengyang seemed to be angry again!

To have a young lord like him accepting to come to such a humble place is indeed very aggravating to him.

Xu Zhun glanced at the sofa that He Chengyang disliked, thinking that he’d better change it when he gets paid next month!

That way He Chengyang can sit more comfortably.

After the food was heated up, He Chengyang sat at the table, fiddling with the chicken wings on his plate with his chopsticks: “What the hell is this? How long has the chicken wings been there, is this still edible? What if someone dies after eating it?”

Xu Zhun explained, “I bought this at the supermarket this evening, it’s fresh.”

He Chengyang slammed his chopsticks on the table, “You’re letting me eat frozen meat sold in a supermarket?”

“It’s not frozen meat, it’s fresh ……”

“How fresh can it be, freshly taken off a live chicken?”

Xu Zhun shook his head.

How many live chickens would he have to buy to end up with a whole plate of chicken wings?

He didn’t have that kind of money either.
