At the end of October, the last bit of the dry summer retreated. And finally Xu Youyou’s dressing style wasn’t out of place anymore. Class 18’s students also began wearing the long sleeved school uniform.

Today, Xu Youyou was resting in the classroom when she suddenly saw Qiao Mu and the class president carrying a desk and chair. They then placed it behind their desk.

“A transfer student is coming?” Xu Youyou asked curiously.

“There is someone coming, but they don’t count as a transfer student.” Class President Ji Haobo answered.

“They don’t count?” Xu Youyou didn’t understand.

“This classmate was originally in our class, but they reported in late.” As he said he it, Ji Haobo suddenly gave a secret smile “He’s the school grass*”

“School grass?” Xu Youyou asked.

“You can ask Qiao Mu more about him. Qiao Mu knows him better.” Ji Haobo placed down the table and left.

Xu Youyou turned to look at Qiao Mu with curiosity.

“It’s my cousin. He originally was from Hongluo No. 7 School. During 8th grade, he was scouted to become an actor. Now he has a bit of popularity so he could be considered our school’s celebrity.” Qiao Mu explained

Xu Youyou made an “oh” sound: “If he could be an actor, he must be quite good looking. No wonder why he’s called the school grass.”

Qiao Mu looked at Xu Youyou for a moment. He thought of that one night he sent Xu Youyou home and the words she had said as she pointed to the advertisement with Lu Shi.

“That appearance would gain points for a melancholy look.”

“What?” Xu Youyou didn’t understand.

“Nothing.”

Xu Youyou did not continue asking, she would be able to see him that afternoon anyway.

The first class of the afternoon was math, the headroom teacher, Teacher Song brough a tall and skinny boy into the classroom. He was wearing the same school uniform as the rest of them. His hair was tousled, but with one glace one could tell a hairstylist had carefully done it. He easily and casually walked up to the podium and attracted everyone’s attention within seconds. Xu Youyou blinked and felt he was vaguely familiar.

“Everyone should know who this is, right?” Teacher Song pointed to the new student and asked.

“Yes.” The Class 18 students responded in unison, especially the girls who were so excited their faces had turned red.

“Then I won’t introduce him. You can go and sit down” Teacher Song pointed to the seat behind Xu Youyou.

“No, please give us an introduction.” A couple girls shouted, unsatisfied.

Teacher Song looked at the girl and didn’t get angry: “Introduce yourself, but don’t delay my lesson.”

“Okay” The boy took a big step forward. He confidently and candidly asked, “Everyone has watched the movie I acted in, right?”

“Yes!!” Another roar was heard from the class.

“My new movie will begin showing on New Year’s Day. When the time comes, I’ll treat everyone to see it.” As the boy finished, a sudden round of applause was heard. Everyone happily laughed as they applauded.

Xu Youyou watched the scene with a smile. She turned to Qiao Mu and commented: “Your cousin has a lot more popularity than you.”

Qiao Mu who was originally smiling was stunned: “It’s true, he is a lot more popular.”

While the applause was still going on, Lu Shi walked towards his seat. Just as he sat down, he lifted his hand to knock on Qiao Mu’s back: “Are you surprised to see me?”

“Auntie told me yesterday.” Qiao Mu responded without looking back.

“I even told my mom not to tell you.” Lu Shi wanted to continue talking but as he lifted his head he was staring straight into the caring gaze of their homeroom teacher and obediently shut up.

The period passed very quickly. As soon as the bell rang signaling class was over, Qiao Mu got up and left the classroom in record speed. Just as Xu Youyou was wondering if Qiao Mu ate something bad and had diarrhea, she was suddenly surrounded and overwhelmed by a surge of people. She managed to crawl out of the classroom with half her life and saw that Qiao Mu was standing in the hallway looking out.

“Wei, you’re so inconsiderate. You ran first and didn’t even notify me. I was almost stampeded by the girls in the class.” Xu Youyou’s expression still had a lingering look of fear.

“I thought you also wanted to pursue the celebrity.” Qiao Mu said.

“Pursue the celebrity? I don’t even know his name” Xu Youyou said.

“You don’t recognize him?” Qiao Mu asked in surprise.

“No, I don’t. But I do think he looks a bit familiar.” Xu Youyou replied.

“The advertisement board in the ancient city has his photo.” Qiao Mu reminded her.

“No wonder I felt he looked familiar. It turns out I saw him on a roadside advertisement.” Xu Youyou had a sudden look of recognition.

Qiao Mu stared at her for a while to confirm that Xu Youyou hadn’t remembered the depressed youth from that night. For some reason, he was suddenly a bit happy.

“Um……” Xu Youyou stared at Qiao Mu for a while, before asking, “Have you gotten taller?’

“I don’t know.” Qiao Mu hadn’t measured his height in a long time.

 “Stand straight.”

Qiao Mu subconsciously stood straighter and Xu Youyou took a step forward till their bodies were pressed together. Qiao Mu’s eyelids fluttered and he subconsciously took a step back, much to Xu Youyou’s dissatisfaction.

“Don’t move.” Xu Youyou immediately grabbed Qiao Mu’s hand, “I’ll compare it.”

Xu Youyou stuck out her hand to compare their two heads, afterwards she very confidently said: “You’ve grown taller, at least by 2 centimeters.”

It was only until after Xu Youyou finished comparing and went back to where she was originally that Qiao Mu finally resumed a normal breathing rate: “Is……Is that so?”
