Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 119: Bet! Many Bet against the God of Gambling!

Aggravated by their jeering laughter, Richard felt extremely disgraced, and in his anger, he clutched his hand extremely tightly and shouted, "I bet ten artifacts on Oliver Charlotte! My fellow magicians, if you have a feud with the magician academy whose branches are found all over our two worlds and want to take revenge, as well as if you want to rack in a lot of profit, then please bet on a single person!"

"This is so damn funny. The academy brought a brat in the magical realm to explore this place. It seems like they have failed to cultivate strong magicians of the channel opening stage. What a disappointment."

"They were boasting so much before, but this is their best? Thirty-odd students with one in the magical realm. Even my fart is enough to kill him."

"We're going to win this bet for sure, ahahaha!"

Enticed by the words of Richard Regis, many magician families who wanted to settle some old scores immediately placed their bet on Oliver.

Now, if they were to lose this bet, then either they can let instructor Leonardo suffer the sure-death backlash for being unable to fulfill the contract or let the academy uses all their artifacts and go bankrupt saving him.

However, what were the chances of the academy losing this bet?

Warren knew that it was zero!

If Elliot wanted, he could simply hunt down Oliver Charlotte right after entering the settlement and directly win the bet!

"Shut up!" "You're coming with us!" He wanted to tell his family to stop the dumb shit they are doing and not make a bet on him, but Eliseo and Marshall blocked him from saying a word and dragged him to the back of the crowd.

The students and the four elders kept quiet, not saying a single word to make the ignorant people understand the true worth of Elliot. The magician families who were here didn't know that Elliot defeated twenty or so strong channel-opening magicians without using his hands or feet.

Instructor Leonardo's and Elliot's eyes brightened in happiness. Each time a magician family put their bet on Oliver, the number of artifacts they were going to get after winning this bet increased by ten.

"Seven of the magician families has made their bet on Oliver Charlotte. If he wins, then you will be paying us with your life or seventy artifacts." Lady Charlotte said while looking at Elliot.

"Since I have given my words, I won't back down no matter what the outcome of this bet," said instructor Leonardo without a single trace of worry on his face.

"Good! Then, let's start the exploration of the newly discovered settlement," said Richard Regis as he wanted the exploration of this settlement to start as soon as possible.

"Not so fast."

Instructor Leonardo stopped all of them.

"What? Do you want to go back on your words?" Richard said while glaring at him.

Instructor Leonardo shook his head and said, "No. I am just worried that you guys might cheat That's why I want the elders of each family to check the spatial devices of the person going in and make a list of them."

"Hmph!" Richard coldly snorted. "Do you think we will do as you please?"

The instructor looked him straight in the eyes, and a spark flew as they glared at each other with murderous intent. The onlookers could feel the tension in the air growing stronger.

"What a coincidence! I was going to propose the same thing!" said Lady Charlotte, and as soon as she said these words, the tension in the air dispersed.

"Elders, please check the spatial storage of each person who is going inside the settlement."

"As you command, Your Highness."

"Elders, please assist them." Instructor Leonardo respectfully motioned for the four elders to inspect the spatial devices of the students.

"Alright."

The four elders agreed on doing as he said for various reasons.

Instructor Leonardo grabbed Elliot by his wrist and took him away. "Come with me."

After they reached an empty and vacant corner, he let go of his hand.

"Let's talk about how we will be splitting the treasure."

"Sir, 70-30, okay?" Elliot said while looking at the instructor.

"You sure are filial." Instructor Leonardo stroked his imaginary beard because he thought that Elliot was agreeing to hand over the Lion's share to him.

"I think you've misunderstood me." From the pleased expression on the instructor's face, Elliot could tell what was in his mind. Thus, he tried to clarify himself.

"How so?" Thinking that he truly has misunderstood something, he asked to know what it is.

"I get 70, and you get 30. That way, everyone will be happy, sir!"

"Aren't you being a bit too cheap?"

"Come on. I am the one who is going to do all the hard work. Besides, whether you live or die depends on how hard I'm willing to work, sir! If you want me to explore for thirty days straight without a single moment of rest then you must motivate me! Let's go with 90-10, sir!"

Instructor Leonardo was taken aback by his words. This was the first time he saw a person who, if not given an inch, takes an entire person away.

"Have you forgotten all sense of shame?" He said.

"The word called shame isn't a part of my dictionary, sir!" Elliot replied with an honest smile.

"Stinking Brat, take my contribution, self-sacrifice, and the trust I put in you into account. Let's agree on splitting the profit in half."

"True, your life entirely depends on me. That enough shows how much you trust me, sir!"

"Then?" Instructor Leonardo's eyes brightened.

"No way I am going to agree to that. You only provoked a few ignorant adults into making a bet. I'm the one who's going to be moving his ass, Sir!"

When those words left Elliot's mouth, the shine in his extinguished into nihility like one's fart in the air.
