Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 191: The insidious truth!

The rays of light spread throughout Benjamin's body, killing the filthy serpent inside.

[The curse of the serpent had gotten annihilated!]

"Congratulations! You're now free of its curse!"

Benjamin could feel it too. His body had gotten lighter, and his complexion had gotten better. However, he wasn't able to rejoice as Elliot once again tightened his hand around his neck.

"Now, honor your end of the deal, or else I will kill you."

Following the rules of his acting, to play with Benjamin's mind, he must put him in a constant tug of war, giving him no chance to think things.

"You must first promise me that you and your beast won't kill me"

Elliot gritted his teeth, but in the end, nodded his head. "Alright, I promise."

"Not with words but with a magic contract."

Elliot's face contorted. However, acting as if he had no other choice, he pulled out a magic contract, wrote some terms on it, and passed it over to Benjamin.

Benjamin swept through the rules and then swiped the blood off the corner of his mouth with his thumb and pressed it on the magic contract, signing it.

[You've signed a magic contract with Benjamin.]

[You've used a hundred units of the essence of life to nullify it.]

Right after that very moment, Elliot used a few of his essence of life to break free from the limitations of the contract. However, Benjamin didn't know, and he still believed that he was going to get out of this place in one piece.

"Now, speak," Elliot said with a dark look on his face.

He was acting as if he wanted to kill Benjamin but now had no way of doing it. He and the others couldn't even hold him captive as that would be breaking the rules of the magic contact, Benjamin thought with a sly look in his eyes.

Elliot managed to break the serpentine devil's curse, and that indeed came as a surprise to him.

However, he refused to believe that he, a teenage boy, had a way of breaking free from a magic contact that magicians used only because there was no way of nullifying one.

However, he had fallen straight into Elliot's trap!

As a gentleman, Benjamin didn't mind taking his revenge after ten years. For now, he decided to tell him everything and escape this place alive.

"We came here to fulfill a mission three months ago. Our main goal was to create a barrier to enclose the forest, stopping whatever's inside from going outside. For that, we used barrier-generating crystals and placed them in five different selections, the center and the entrance point of the eastern, Southern, Western, and Northern zones. One of them is inside of this cliff, in its center. You'll be able to get out of this forest, and using the life-saving scrolls will become useable in the nightmare zone after you break it."

"Is that all?"

"No!" Benjamin immediately said, "That was just the first part of our plan, one of our means to an end. Our second goal was to kill the magicians that the higher-ups would bait into this place. Not a single person returning would arouse the association's and magician community's suspicion but also their interest. Due to their greed, they will keep on sending more and more people to explore this settlement, and we will keep on killing them, offering their bodies to our god until he descends on one of our bodies."

"You guys were aiming to become the serpent's vessel?!" Elliot's eyes widened in shock. He could've never thought that the serpentine devils were planning so far.

"Yes."

They will kill magicians. Males—they will cut them into four pieces and throw them on the ritual circle. Female—they will drug and rape on the ritual site as their priest dance and sing to call upon their God.

That was their insidious plan!

Benjamin was honestly fascinated with this plan when he heard about it. After all, he would not get to kill and torture many but also force himself on hundreds of women.

He loved watching them resist him as he taint them with his filth. He loved their screams and their cries. Above all, he loved killing them after he was done having his fun.

Even this time, Benjamin was looking forward to doing the latter; however, Elliot had shattered all his dreams.

"You are truly inhumane," Elliot said with a smile.

Benjamin beamed back. A normal person wouldn't be smiling right now, so he thought that something was wrong with Elliot.

Maybe he was retarded?

"Is that all?" He added, and Benjamin nodded.

"Tell me everything about your plan, and I want you to answer immediately, or else I will rip apart your limbs!" Elliot suddenly shouted, and as if he had entered a state of hysteria, he tightened his hold on his neck with one hand, and used the other hand to rip apart his limb!

He didn't even get him the chance to speak!

Benjamin screamed like a pig getting slaughtered by a butcher.

'What the fuck?'

Benjamin's face immediately turned deep red. He was finding it hard to breathe. After all, the devil was mercilessly squeezing his neck. Moreover, he failed to even squeeze out a word.

"Did you just say that I can torture you as much as I like, but even then, you won't tell you a single thing! Good! You're truly loyal to your cult! I've never seen a man as loyal as you! But did you know what I love doing the most?! It's prying open the mouths of loyal dogs like you."

Elliot said while looking at Benjamin as if he was a fanatic of a cult or a brainwashed member of a terrorist organization, and thus, was refusing to tell him about their so-called grand plan.

"Good!"

"Good!"

"I hope you can endure my torture!"

Elliot started acting like a completely different person, almost as if was suffering from a split personality.

It was as if the crazy one inside of him had awakened, scaring Benjamin so much that he pissed himself.

Benjamin looked back at him with equally wide eyes, ones filled with disbelief and bewilderment. Why hadn't Elliot faced the backlash of breaking the rules of the magic contract by harming him?
