3 – Becoming Teacher Monster (2)

As if divinity took pity on hopeless humanity, a savior appeared.

The little girl before me – Saint of Salvation, Guardian of the Human World, Shield of Humanity, Raisonia la Formalhaut Seinar.

Rallying around her, mankind’s alliance was reborn.

And so the Divine Human Empire was established.

It was then that humanity’s counterattack began.

With their Shield and new weaponry – monstrous beings matching the monsters they faced, humanity could finally fight back.

That was the “destined fate” of this world during the Monster Musume era.

But in the world I was born into, things were slightly different.

Firstly, Raisonia the Shield.

While she did awaken great power as humanity’s prophesied savior…

Humanity’s “Spear” was made by none other than myself.

“You, who forged humanity’s sharpest spear and wielded it highest.”

I had no choice.

After all, I wanted to live too.

To avoid getting steamrolled, I had to personally create that which only appeared when humanity was on the brink.

That resulted in the grand hero Black Lion with the epithet Humanity’s Spear, but…

In any case, having survived, such things didn’t really matter.

“Sir, I command you thus.”

The girl gripping the ceremonial sword.

In both appearance and reality, six years my junior… Raisonia la Formalhaut Seinar spoke to the hero.

“Sir Spear, who developed magitech armor.”

Magitech armor.

Humanity’s innate abilities and martial arts were insufficient to stop invaders from other dimensions coming through the Gates.

They had greater physical abilities and magical affinity from birth compared to humans.

Even their newborns, crying and cooing, had physical capabilities matching our elite soldiers trained all day save for eating and sleeping.

When those babies grew up with similar all day training except eating and sleeping, they became strong enough to match our elites among elites – the superhumans.

Objectively, our soldiers were only on par when the invaders were still babies – they were outmatched.

On the battlefield, just defending resulted in unacceptable casualties…a terribly unfair fight.

And the magitech armor humanity developed to counterattack and fight evenly, eventually sitting equally at the negotiating table, was what allowed that change.

Originally, it barely succeeded in development by the 9th year of war,

So even when humanity counterattacked, we were still jobbers compared to the four dimensions, forced to make many concessions.

But I developed it right before the war began, and achieved mass production around the 3rd year.

Admittedly, compared to the magitech armor of Monster Musume, it was a shoddy prototype.

But having something and nothing were dimensions apart.

Thanks to it, more people survived, and as the war dragged on, the improved magitech armor rapidly evolved.

In less than 5 years, it reached the level of Monster Musume’s magitech armor.

On top of that, by schmoozing the future hero Raisonia, I reached this position of standing boldly before her equipped in ceremonial magitech armor.

I had truly attained the status of founding father.

Furthermore, it wasn’t just Raisonia I saved.

There were also many who didn’t exist in the original work, likely perished in the great war, who I saved, bolstering the Divine Human Empire’s might.

I can’t claim all the credit, but the butterfly effect borne of my actions is clear.

While there were those who eyed me with jealousy and resentment,

The reason many looked upon me favorably is for that very reason.

With so many lives saved by me, it’s only natural.

But of all my feats, this is likely the greatest.

And Raisonia herself, the person in question, mentioned that feat.

“And for saving me from evildoers.”

Running into Raisonia was just a coincidence.

She wasn’t born a hero.

Just an ordinary village girl.

It wasn’t only the communicable beings – that is, beings we could talk with – of the four dimensions that came through the Gates.

All kinds of monsters came through too.

While monsters did exist in this world originally too, the ones from beyond the Gates were stronger, more vicious, and crueler.

And Raisonia was a girl living in a village fated to become a field of corpses by those invading monsters.

Raisonia, who narrowly survived and awakened a ‘Gift’ when her village was destroyed and she was at death’s door, who went on to save humanity and become Empress…

In Monster Musume, that summed up her life story, occasionally shown in CGs in certain endings or routes.

And by some twist of fate, I ended up saving that village of Raisonia’s, and meeting her in the process.

…Having played the game for 6 years in my past life, I recognized her instantly.

A rural village girl whose village was trampled into a field of corpses by monsters from the Gates, shining brilliantly with her blonde hair fluttering, facing covered in tear streaks and bruises yet seemingly sparkling… One look and I knew she was unique. Such beauty.

Even disregarding ulterior motives, I had to pick her up.

Most of all, even before her Gift awakened, as just a commoner and rural village girl, Raisonia harbored tremendously potent magical power.

It had been over 10 years since my rebirth, and realizing this was the world of Monster Musume, I tried writing down all I could remember, though the specifics eluded me. But taking her along, her Gift soon awakened, and she grew quickly into the Empress.

Like picking up a coin off the street and have it turn out to be gold.

Raisonia, whom I picked up, raised, doted on, and watched grow into an Empress.

Honestly, it feels less like I raised her and more like I let her be and she grew up herself, but in any case, she’s at least half my accomplishment, I’d say.

Thanks to her, I became a founding father and earned the epithet Humanity’s Spear. Now I just had to graciously live out my old dream of taking a cute and nice wife and loving her tenderly.

Seeing her grandly summon me like this and recite my accomplishments…

I figured she was finally going to grant me a title beyond Count.

Granting me land would be good too.

Having turned 23 in this world after rolling through the battlefield, I was a confirmed bachelor by this world’s standards.

It was about time I found a partner and returned to my old dream.

Or so I thought.

“In recognition of your accomplishments, I grant you the title of Marquis.”

Marquis, huh.

Not bad.

Duke was a title only given to royalty or equivalent nobles in the first place.

For the unified Divine Human Empire, Marquis was already leagues above the petty Count I was in a small nation.

“And I grant Sir Ern Bahrdt governance over Elisia, one of my direct territories.”

Elisia was one of the wealthiest territories in the Divine Human Empire.

It was the vast and fertile plains right next to the imperial capital of Nelinia, with the great river crossing it providing immense water resources.

A bumper crop was guaranteed with the slightest seeding, a land where great harvests were the norm with proper management.

Far from the Gates, its fertile soil made it a vital strategic location to hold during the great war.

…Did I really accomplish enough to deserve such rich land?

Well, I did render significant service, but this was one of Raisonia’s direct territories.

However towering Raisonia’s authority as guardian and Radiant Empress of humanity, I couldn’t imagine her relinquishing sweet territory like Elisia even if she didn’t manage it directly herself.

In just 10 years, even a commoner granted Elisia as a territory would become high nobility. I was already landed gentry as Count of the Bahrdt territory.

Granted, as expected of a small nation, Bahrdt was tiny with low yields, but it was still territory.

Since it was far from the Gates, Bahrdt profited nicely from being untouched by the war over the past decade. Honestly, it wasn’t a bad territory at all.

But now Elisia on top of that?

The two lands were a bit far apart, but that just meant leaving Bahrdt to my father as always while I focused on Elisia.

I could even officially make my father the Count of Bahrdt and cut it off for myself.

…In any case, this made me not just a founding father but member of the highest nobility able to coast through generations.

And such individuals were often eyed with resentment.

Just taking a direct territory from the Empress would spark talk of her favoring me – any blue-blooded noble who didn’t object would be seen as toothless.

Yet…everyone was silent.

Even those who’d usually kick up a fuss over this.

Why…?

And that question was swiftly resolved by none other than Raisonia herself.

“Furthermore, I order Sir Ern Bahrdt thus – I appoint you instructor at the newly established Academy for Interspecies Cultural Exchange.”

…The Academy for Interspecies Cultural Exchange.

The official name of the academy that served as Monster Musume’s backdrop, though no one actually called it that in the setting.

And teachers there were…

…Now I understood why everyone stayed mum when I got assigned the plum territory of Elisia.

Even I would feel bad and let it go if I heard someone as good as dead like me was assigned teacher there.

But.

Me?

I have to go there?

“……”

Raisonia, why are you sending me to that kind of place?

What did I do wrong?

Please, save me!
