Bleach: New Beginning

I opened the door and inside was a messy office that had stacks of paper piled up on the desk. Books were all over the floor. It wasn't what I was expecting. Behind the desk, a man white hair was sitting down. I decided to introduce myself.

"Pleasure to meet you, Captain Kenji. I am Kumagawa Ryo." I bowed.

"No need to be so formal Kumagawa, raise your head" He requisitioned. I lifted my head and looked him in the eye. "I'm sorry that you have to see my office like this. You caught me at a bad time. I'm sure you know all about your position in our division?"

"Yes, sir. I'll be acting as the 5th seat, but captain what does our division exactly do?" I asked

"Our division is tasked with handling internal affairs. Our main job is to seek and root out traitors and corruption within the Gotei 13. We have records on every shinigami and have access to the most classified files in the Seireitei, we have the authority to arrest other Shinigami on the suspicion of a crime, and have the right to interrogate those persons for information on the subject whether they have defining proof or not. When evidence can be provided, we then defer to the Onmitsukidō and Central 46 on how to handle the perpetrators of a crime, however just like every other division we also dispatch shinigami to fight soldiers." He said in a serious voice

"What's our relationship like with other squads"

"Not the best. Our division is very secretive in how we act so we are incredibly isolated from all the other squads." He explained.

"What are my duties?" I asked. I was curious about what I'd be doing here.

"As the 5th seat, you will be the head of the interrogation and torture unit. We will bring traitors and criminals and your job is to find out their motives and see whether they have any allies that still haven't been caught." He explained

Torture and interrogation. That would be interesting.

"Where will my area of work be?" I queried.

"You will be based under the division barracks. You'll have your own office and a task force of a few people."

"I see. Thank you, captain Kenji."

"5th seat Ryo, I welcome you to the 10th division. Go have some fun." I walked out of the office and began my adventure in the 10th division.

The 10th division was a normal place. It had everything a regular shinigami barracks would have. A training ground, a canteen, a library and a meeting room, though the main event for me was the archive room. From the outside, the building looks nice and traditional. It had been built with brownstones and has white brick decorations. Large, triangular windows let in plenty of light and have been added to the building in a very symmetric way. I decided to walk in. The inside told a different story. The whole building was grey, there wasn't a speck of colour in the building. Filing cabinets littered the room and from what I could tell this building had lower levels to it. It made sense, our division had the information of all shinigami dead or alive. What made me uneasy was the fact that we were keeping all our information in one area.

I decided to leave the archive building and headed over to my workplace. I had to walk into the main building and descend a pile of stairs which led me to a second level of sorts. The place was dimly lighted, there were a few holding cells located around the area. What caught my eye was the interrogation room. It was a giant grey cube that erupted out in the middle of the floor. I strolled inside and it was what was I'd expect an interrogation room to be. A table, a dangling light and two chairs in the centre of the room. Very cliche.

My next stop was my office. I walked through a set of double doors. 2 lean men were talking to each other.

"I'm telling you, cereal is a soup," The one with black hair said

"How? Cereal is a sweet breakfast food while soup is a wholesome broth with meat" The blond one replied

The conversation they were having was stupid, they were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn't even notice that I was standing there. I decided to put a stop at whatever the hell they were talking about.

"Hello. I'm Kumagawa Ryo I'll be your new 5th seat, pŀėȧsurė to meet you" I declared.

They looked at me then looked at each other.

"Doesn't he look a bit young to be a shinigami." The one with black hair said.

"You idiot, doesn't that name ring any bells? He was in Seireitei communication. He's the youngest shinigami to graduate ever. Sorry for my friend here I'm Shibuya Ko." He bowed

"Oh, how rude of me, I'm Miyata sora." He said.

"Can one of you please direct me to my office?" I asked.

"Yeah just go straight and take a left," Ko said.

I followed his directions and I found my way to my office. I entered the room and it was a regular office the only thing that was different was there was a couch in there.

This was the beginning of my life in the 10th division.

"Hado 32: Okasen" Shibuya raised his Zanpakutō horizontally in front him the sword generates a yellow orb, which widens itself along the length of their sword. Once it was fully charged, a wide, horizontal arc of yellow energy at me.

"Hado 33: Sokatsui:" Miyata recited. A blue flame exploded out of his hand and blazed towards me very quickly.

"Bakudo 44: Sekisho" A barrier erupted from out of in front of me and blocked both attacks causing a massive cloud of ash. When the smoke cleared out I looked at both of them and smirked.

"Bakudo 63: Rikujokuro" A rope of light came out of my finger and wrapped the arms and torso of Miyata and Shibuya.

"Another win for me. You guys can bȧrėly even touch me." I taunted.

"Well, I wouldn't expect anything from you, sir," Shibuya said as he rubbed his blonde hair.

"Yeah, it would be bad if we beat you." Miyata retorted

"Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Ever." I bluntly stated

As we were talking about how to improve for next time a figure appeared from out behind us. It was the captain. Captain Kenji is usually locked up in his office and doesn't come out much. I turned around he looked as messy as usual.

"Hello, captain" I bowed I made the other two bow too. I wasn't gonna look like a suck-up and do it myself

"I've already told you that you don't have to be so formal Kumagawa." Kenji laughed.

"Captain, what are you doing here anyway, you're always holed up in that office of yours?" I asked

"That's why. I'm always in that stuffy office I thought I might get some fresh air. Do you mind if I invite you for a spar Kumagawa?"

"No, I don't sir. What kind of match would you like?"

"Hmm how about a regular match no restrictions." The location of our training field was behind our barracks so it was a wide field where you could perform high-level kido spells without many repercussions.

"Sure Captain, I hope we have a good fight."I calmly replied

We made our to opposite sides of the field and we both respectfully bowed to each other. We looked each other in the eyes, we both took out our blades and the battle began.

I used a shunpo to get the captain as quickly as possible and went into slice the captain. He easily blocked and returned with a slice of his own. I nimbly dodged and used a flip to get some distance between us.

"Hado 63: Raikouhou" I generated a yellow lightning above the palm of my hand, I fired the built-up energy at Kenji as a massive concentration of energy which resembles a lightning strike.

The captain just smirked as he raised his hand and the same yellow lighting bolt came out of his hand "Raikouhou". The two lightning strikes met in the middle of the field and created a huge explosion which caused a smokescreen of ash.

Suddenly, from behind me, I could feel the captain behind me he swung his sword towards my neck. I spun around and raised my sword blocking his attack.

"Captain I thought you might've killed me." I laughed.

"I knew that you would block it."He replied

We clashed swords for a few more minutes then the captain did a series of flips to get away from me which I thought was odd. He raised his palm and said

"Hado 73: Soren Sokatsui" Kenji made a pushing motion with both of his palms and pushed the gathered energy toward me in a concentrated blast.

As the blast made I shouted "Bakudo 39: Enkosen. Bakudo 44: Sekisho" A shield of reiatsu appeared in front of my sword and fast forming barrier came out in front of me. As the blast hit the barrier it began to crack and eventually destroyed it. It was now up to the shield to break it. The barrier was there to slow down its momentum so it would be easier to deal with. The blue blast hit the shield and the attack died down.

"Captain, using a level 73 Hado? You're making me scared." I taunted.

"If I went easy on you what would be the point?"

"That is true, captain. So how about we finish this."

"Gladly."

"Oh power that lies at the root of all creation, oh memory inscribed in ages past, here my call and arise before me with your catastrophic power. Hado 75: Four Ancient Spheres." I recited

Four large energy blasts, one of fire, one of wind, one of water and one of earth fired at the captain.

"Bakudo 81: Danku." The energy blasts all hit the large rectangular barrier and it completely blocked the attack. I should've known that he would use a Danku. Danku can completely block any Hado spell lower than 89.

The captain came out at a lightning-fast speed and struck me in the face with a heavy punch. I tried to punch back but it was too late.

"Bakudo 4: Hainawa." I was entangled in a black rope that stopped me from moving at all.

"It's my win Kumagawa." He boasted

"Well, it would be very bad if I beat you, sir." I used the excuse Miyata used earlier.

"That not gonna happen in 100 years, Kumagawa." He laughed "I was very impressed with your skills. Your Kido is perfect, your swordplay is amazing and your shunpo was good enough to keep up with me. You should be proud of yourself."

"Thank you for your praise captain," I said

We both looked around at the destruction we had caused. There were loads of massive craters and shattered land.

The captain sweated "The Head captain will not be happy about this." He laughed
