Blood Debt

All afternoon Rose and Jack cleaned the house.

"Ahhh. I'm beat!" Rose said sitting on the sofa. Her long hair was tied in a ponytail.

"Never thought this place is big." Jake said seating on the floor.

It was now night time when they finished cleaning the whole house.

The two story wooden house is a 3-bedroom 2-bathroom. The 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom are found on the 2nd floor while the other bathroom, dining, and living rooms are at the ground floor.

'Growl' Jake's stomach started to growl.

"Phh...hahahaha." Rose laughed out loud. Jake blushed in embarrassment.

"Stop laughing!" Jake shouted irritated.

"Phh.. Okay, chill." Rose wipe a tear from her eye. "I hope you like pizza? I ordered a while ago."

Jack's face showed excitement and anticipation but then he composed himself.

'Shy little kid.' Rose thought. 'But I guess he was thought to be a proper gentleman because the Bradford family is an aristocratic family.'

'Ding dong' the door bell rang.

Rose ran towards the door. Jack looked at the woman. She was receiving the pizza from the deliveryman. He looked at her and scanned her. She has a slim body. Her hair was silky black and waist length. Her skin was fair with a rosy tint on her cheeks. Her face was mesmerizing snd beautiful. If Jack will put it to words, she was a goddess on earth.

Jack looks at the deliveryman who was obviously mesmerized by Rose's beauty. He felt somewhat irritated but doesn't know why.

"Here's the pizza." Rose said. "I hope it will be enough as dinner for now. I know your a rich kid and is used to fancy food." Rose said jokingly.

"Pizza is fine!" Jack said a little irritated. He doesn't want to be called a rich kid. "I can adjust, so don't worry."

Rose smiled. "Tomorrow I'll cook our food. It might not be fancy but at least I can say that it will be delicious." Rose winked. She opened the box and got a slice and give it to Jack.

"I said I'm fine." Jack harshly get the slice of pizza from Rose's hand and took a bite. He was obviously embarrassed. Rose was giggling.

Jack took a peak at Rose. She was eating a slice of pizza.

"What is it?" Rose saw him glancing her way. "Is there something on my face?" Rose said trying to wipe her cheeks. Jack blushed in embarrassment.

"N-no." Jack stuttered. "I just remembered. Are you the one that fought the guy that attacked my family?" Jack took a bite of his pizza.

"Were you still conscious that time?" Rose asked. "Yes, I was the one that came to help. I'm sorry if I was too late."

"It's okay. It's not your fault. It was that man's fault. But I wasn't able to save her, Elaine." Jack clenched his fist, anger was evident in his eyes. Tears were starting to come out.

"Cain is a progenitor vampire. Unlike normal vampires, he's much stronger." Rose said. "Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault."

Jack looked at Rose. "But you were able to fight him equally."

"That's because I was using a powerful weapon. If I fought him a little longer I don't know what will happen." Rose said. "When you come of age and I start to train you then I will teach you the things you need to know."

There was a pause for a moment.

"Can I ask you a question?" Jack asked.

"Sure." Rose said with a smile. She just finished her slice of pizza.

"When I saw you, your eyes were glowing red. So I thought you were also a vampire." Jack said. "But you can go out in the sunlight and eat food."

Rose looked at Jack seriously and then sighed. "Yes you are correct there."

Jack was shocked. He became defensive by reflex. Rose saw it to be cute and smiled.

"Don't worry I won't attack you or anything." Rose said ruffling Jack's hair again. "We will be living together for a while so I'm thinking of being truthful to you from the start. I want to be honest to you as much as possible."

Jack relaxed his body after listening to what Rose said. 'She doesn't seem to be bad.'

"Do you want to hear my story?" Rose asked. Jack nodded.
