Blood Emperor's Lazy Doctor [Hiatus]

Chapter 37 - Doctor Wu is surprisingly acquainted with... !

"The location of the vein is... here?"

"Yes" He spoke unhesitantly.

Obviously that was the case. The essence density clearly the proof staring her dead in the face. Even the sheer amount of gas further solidified this.

It was just... just this state of utter disbelief of hers forced out a foolish question.

'It had to be restroom... of course.' Mentally she palmed her face.

This Duke Ding is something else indeed. It takes a certain kind of man to build an outhouse on top of an earth vein. Apparently the Duke is that kind of man. Just what was going through his head, she wondered.

Rong'er always said her actions infuriate the divine martialist community. From her use of the elemental trees, to her viewpoints of lower skill sets, and among other things. But this had to be much worse, correct? Wouldn't this alone amass rivers of angered blood?

'It's no wonder the servant boy had been so nonchalant about leading me here.' Did he perhaps believe she needed to answer nature's call?

If so, she inwardly snickered. Oh heavens and dear Buddha, this is why she loves the lower realms! Their actions are far more entertaining!

"Well then, do you mind waiting here for me?" She probed.

"Certainly young miss, this one shall not invade your privacy. Take as much time as need be."

Oh for the love of Buddha! He really did think I had a bowel movement! How amusingly awkward of a misunderstanding this is? Which she had no plans of clarifying.

"Perhaps do you know of the best location?" She asked rhetorically. Surprisingly she got an answer.

"But of course young miss. Go in right through the front. There you will spot a fountain. From there you'll take a right into the female quarters, then left, and straight into the far back segment."

"If those are the female quarters, then how do you know of such a place?" She raised a brow in suspension.

"Huh?" His face reddened, and his hands came up in his defense.

"Oh heavens no young miss! This one has done nothing! This one is wrongly accused! Please believe me I hadn't done such criminal actions as sneaking into the female quarters! That's the other servants I swear!"

"Oh, so this has been done before?"

"Young miss!!! Please believe this one! The male and female quarters are mirrored in structure. The males prime section is the same direction just reversed! Young miss please don't misunderstand. Young miss this one begs of you!"

"Ahahaha!" Luo could not stop the laughter this time. This fl.u.s.tered child is too easily teased. Ah young ones are so entertaining. "Alright alright, be at ease. I believe you."

"Young miss!" He thanked her with his eyes, his head, and hands clasped in front. He bid her off as such.

Giggling once more, her smile dropped. The density of the gas inside was quite disconcerting. Even without her spiritual aura it's hard to miss.

Why has nothing been done to quarantine such a problem? Can't blame ignorance. You'd have to be a blind fool to not see the source. Whichever bastard said this was fine, I'd like to ring their neck!

"Auchew! Ai this old is sure popular today. These fairies just refuse to relent!"

Back within the building Doctor Wu sneezed once more. It's one of those days where curses flew in all directions.

And just as one curse ends, another one begins.

"Speak of Karma and her collectors come knocking. What god awful demon dragged you in here you old drunkard?" General Wan gagged at the sight of that old man. He did not welcome the surprise at all.

Duke Ding, Prime minister Hong, and Imperial preceptor Lan followed close behind. They too did not look happy. Even Moxue frowned slightly.

Doctor Wu pulled at his beard laughingly.

"Ai if isn't little Chang Chang, Come to see this old man to fix up your little brother have you? The wife finally pushing? Can't blame her. The months alone in bed, ai even I, this old man would order one or two male concubines to scratch that itch."

"Wow Chang, hadn't known. My condolences." Lan Shulen exclaimed in half shock half amus.e.m.e.nt.

"F.u.c.k you Shulen!" General Wan smacked the back of Lan Shulen's head. Then redirected his attention, roaring at Doctor Wu, smashing his foot through the floorboards. "Wu Yun, you blubbering bastard of a c*nt faced fool! I'll murder you!"

"Moxue." Duke Ding pinched his brows.

"Of course." Hong Moxue acted quickly. He barred Wan Chang's neck and grasped his arms behind his back. Wan Chang is now completely restrained.

"Dammit block of Ice, let I, your father go so I can beat the old man into an early grave!"

"You can beat him once you're outside of my home." Duke Ding spoke tiredly. He sighed when speaking to the old man.

"Doctor Wu," he sighed once more. "I suppose it's too much to ask to control that tongue. Though do tell, what wind has blown you to my abode?"

Doctor Wu who'd remained seated through the whole affair chuckled mysteriously. "Your problem will soon be fixed."

"We have already gone over this. Your price is one I cannot afford." Duke Ding frowned.

"Indeed you can't. But this old man knows you have no choice in the matter." Doctor Wu concluded. Though his position was on the lower ground, his tone of voice made it appear otherwise.

None in the room doubted that Doctor Wu saw himself as a dragon amongst men. Despite his elderly appearance, no one underestimated him.

But apparently that did not refer to Hong Moxue. Those eyes like daggers held a blade at his throat, speaking with an authoritative tone.

"Wu Yun, do not push what little luck remains. The day will come when Emperor Jie will no longer care for face. As such, you're acquaintance with the legendary doctor, the barrier barring death from claiming your life. May fall apart and heavens will strike you down."

"Is that so?" He did not seem convinced. "Believe the little brat Jieji can threaten this old man? Ha! Such a laugh, you really make this old man feel wanted. Do you wish to peek under my cloth so a measuring contest can begin? Wonder who can pass the test."

A spark ignited between the two. Even the controlled Moxue had begun losing his temper and Wan Chang couldn't be more happy. He'd even forgotten about his predicament and started cheering.

"Beat his a.s.s Moxue! Do it! Do it! Do it! Just do it! Once he's down I'll help you skin him alive!" His coarse laughter and words forced Lan Shulen to sigh. Duke Ding was no better.

"Alright enough." The Duke waved his hand, ordering the fools ready to rampage. "Return to your estates, kill each other later, far far away from my home."

Back to Hong Luo.

Following the servant boy's directions the density continued to rise. Coming to a stop inside a long room with multiple doors, she'd begun suspecting if a dead body could be found around the corner.

It's that bad of a problem.

A few rooms were occupied, but some weren't so she hadn't needed to wait. Coming to a sliding door she enters the room but pauses with a huge jolt of shock.

Blinking repeatedly she stepped out, closed the door, and re-entered. She had to perform this twice, just to make sure. Still what was before her did not vanish.

Why is there a chair, a table, and tea set in here? A bookcase on each side, some cards, and even a chessboard? Just why? Who spends that much time in the restroom?

Author "..." I feel somewhat attacked right now.

An awkward laugh came out as she cast her gaze to the ceiling.

She refused to sit down. Refused to touch the books. Especially refusing to look at the toilet smack dead in the center of the room. Just like some holy throne all must praise for its brilliance, instead cursing the designer for such an unorthodox choice of placement.

"Truly, this man beats me into the dust and still keeps stomping." It took a lot of will power to redirect her attention.

Author "..." It had to be done. Suffer you must. Prevail you shall!

If she heard the author's thoughts, Hong Luo just might make the name outhouse true to form, blowing apart the ceiling, and converting back to nature. But she had finally set herself back on track and hadn't the brain power to worry over such trifles.

"What an oddity. The discomfort expected has yet to occur. Traces of illness, palpitations of breath, cold sweats reflecting the servants too made no appearance. Is morality the cause?" She pondered.

"Can't be. Frailty between mortals and essence practitioners aren't colored so grey. The lines are quite black and white. But of course, some annotations of grey, though rare, are stronger on morals. But in this instance, that doesn't seem to be the case. At least with my body.

Two out of twelve present had begun their journeys. Though subtle, still no longer the same as mortals. Yet those two, like the other ten, showed symptoms.

In fact. Those touched upon the art had it worse. Assumably due to their practiced consumption of essence, which in turn made possible for more gas to be consumed. But it wasn't too much to make the difference large." She tapped her chin in conclusion.

"What of spirituality?" That query had her shaking her head out of foolishness.

"Ha. Even more doubtful. The problem held more grounds with the body then the spirit. All symptoms further clarify this. If it were the soul, deterioration of the mind, along with unfocused sight and the sporadic dilation of the pupils would rectify this. Which none were present.

Especially in myself as now I'm in the thick of it. Stranger even is the reverse of symptoms. These feelings of lightness, an airy wind coursing throughout my veins and swimming in each of my main acupoints.

How long has it been since such blissful peace has been felt? I dare say not since the days beyond the rot. Yet even then, this peace could not be fully explained. Perhaps back within the years when both mother and father--" Her head shook with a ghost of a smile, one holding pain, longing, and sorrow.

"Why does this energy make me feel so strange? Feel what I do not want to feel. Feel what I try so desperately to--" she swallowed hard, bowing her head low, choking out the following words. "Desperately to forget."

Breathing in and out, grasping her c.h.e.s.t, blinking away the mist that formed over her eyes. Now she did not know what to do with this energy. Continue examining it, or to run from it, forgetting its very existence!

"No." She can't do that. Wouldn't that defy her ethics? Already those young ones, those servants suffering even now, in her eyes had become her patients. Never would she let personal matters prevent her from curing pain and suffering.

"Never-- never again."

What if she tried absorbing it? What would happen then? She'll try her best to ignore the feelings, but the symptoms still must be further examined to come to some conclusion over this substance.

If not for her void physique, this would not be an option. But now, she had the validation to take risks. Instead of gathering samples and testing within her space.

So she gave it a shot.

With a snap of her fingers she locked the room's space. Air could neither flow in nor out, which included the gas. Closing her eyes she assumed a comfortable position, dropping her arms and head. She began focusing.

Guiding the gaseous energy into a whirlpool, grasping it within her control. Slowly it streams to the location of her dantian. Once they made contact, warmth spewed forth inside, drowning her in a sea of bliss.

She felt like a fish returning to the ocean. A cloud of rain quenching the thirst of a desert. She felt at peace, at home, returning from a long journey to a comforting bed.

Even the inside of her dantian which refused to move, had subtle changes, a few traces of light appeared on the black orb. Currently Hong Luo has yet to notice, her emotions fluffed out into foam, numbed her mind.

The world felt right again. Sensations of enlightenment and prosperity clicked within her. The answers were not what she expected, the conclusion is a far cry from the starting point yet had always been so close. So close that doubt found its way inside urging for further clarification, though none should be needed.

Then it stopped, all of the energy had been drained and she just felt-- lost.

"Just what was that?" Her eyes sporadically moved, clenching her fist repeatedly. "This feeling. This energy. Why? Why is it here?"

She identified the gas but doubted her own conclusion.
