Child of Destiny

489 The Duplicator’s Eyes

...…

Shin looked at the summoning circle illuminating on the ground of the battle arena.

A moment later, the whole battle arena started to shake violently as if there was a sudden earthquake. And not long after that, a pillar of light suddenly shot up from the ground and flew straight towards the sky.

Seeing that, Shin quickly moved away from the incoming pillar of light with a slight wave of his wings before staring intensely at the summoning circle on the ground.

He was squinting his eyes while staring at the summoning circle and had no intention of taking his eyes away from it. It was because of the dangerous aura that was coming from it.

Crack! Crack!

And when he saw the cracks that were starting to appear on the surface of the ground, Shin could immediately figure out what kind of monster Immortal was planning to summon.

Boom!

The ground of the battle area suddenly exploded which made a lot of rock debris to be sent in the air and fly in different directions.

Roar!

And that was when Shin saw a massive figure crawling out from the ground with its thick arms and sharp claws. The monster revealed itself bit by bit all the way until it fully pulled itself from the ground.

It was a massive dragon with pale white scales and crimson eyes. Its huge bat-like wings were spread widely, showing quite a few holes on it.

"A Zombie Dragon!?" shouted Shin unconsciously while looking at the massive dragon with wide-opened eyes.

Not only him, but even the players watching the match also blustered out the same words the moment they saw the dragon summoned by Immortal. It was the same for the live streamers and broadcasters covering the match.

The expert players were also wearing the same expression on their faces. Some of them were even gasping with their breaths while the others either stood up from their seats or clenched their fists after seeing that massive dragon.

Unlike the ordinary players, these guys knew the significance of the fact that Immortal could summon a high-ranking undead despite not having his Awakening Skills.

Moreover, the undead that he summoned was a dragon. It didn't matter whether it was a Zombie Dragon or not – a dragon was still a dragon no matter what kind it was.

Dragons were one of the highest beings inside the game and ranked top among the most powerful race. Even a hatchling of a dragon was as strong as the High-leveled Monsters with Overlord Rank at the current stage of the game.

Moreover, they could only be summoned by beings that had equal authority and similar powers as them.

But with the currently had, he supposedly couldn't summon a monster of this kind of level and possessed such a powerful bloodline.

Due to the appearance of this massive Zombie Dragon, the surrounding mana suddenly became berserk which led to some space distortion.

Seeing that, Shin couldn't help but knit his eyebrows while muttering to himself. "Tsk! One look at it and I can already tell that this dragon is a real deal. Even Arthur's dragon looked like a baby when compared to this one."

At the same time, Immortal landed at the head of the Zombie Dragon while looking at Shin arrogantly. "Don't feel too surprised yet since an even more surprising thing is waiting for you on the next round."

The expression on Shin's face suddenly turned solemn when he heard those words. And based on Immortal's tone, he could easily tell that this guy still had another way to summon this dragon on the next round after defeating him. Or maybe an undead with a similar rank or level.

Realizing his current predicament, Shin knew that he couldn't hide his final trump card anymore. After all, he didn't use this card purposely so that he could save it for unexpected situations just like this.

Having that in mind, Shin looked back at Immortal with a determined expression on his face before saying with a smirking tone. "You can't be too relaxed yet. After all, the winner of this round still hasn't been determined."

Immortal suddenly frowned his eyebrows when he heard. He didn't know where Shin got his current confidence despite seeing the Zombie Dragon that he summoned.

Due to his confusion, there was a sudden pause in Immortal's actions which gave Shin a small window to use that trump card that he was saving.

'Legacy Skill: Duplicator's Eyes'

Both of his eyes suddenly shone with a brilliant white light. And due to how brilliant it was, even Immortal could see the current glow on his eyes which made him even more confused, especially when he felt a dangerous premonition after seeing that sight.

While Immortal was still processing what was happening, a series of system notifications suddenly rang at Shin's ears right after he activated his skill.

BOOM!

After the long string of notifications, a thunderous sound suddenly exploded in the sky which shook the entire battle arena.

Immortal knew that Shin was plotting something big the moment he saw the commotion in the sky. So, he immediately waved his bone scepter in the air before ordering his Zombie Dragon to stop Shin.

Having received its orders, the Zombie Dragon immediately moved its body and opened its huge mouth while gathering the surrounding mana on it. And when the accumulation of mana reached its peak, the dragon released all of the mana that was gathered and sent it in Shin's direction.

'Zombie Dragon's Breath: Ghost Flame'

Boom!

Then a blazing wave of flame was released from its mouth and flew straight at Shin with unstoppable force.

Swoosh!

BOOM!

But before it could even reach its target, a pillar of grey light suddenly shot down from the sky and blocked the incoming wave of flames.

And when Immortal saw that, he couldn't but knit his brow while looking at the pillar of light protecting Shin. "What kind of trick did this guy have now?"

A few moments later, the blinding light of the pillar in front of Shin finally subdued and revealed the existence hiding behind it.

It was a massive dragon with a similar size as the Zombie Dragon that Immortal had summoned. But compared to the scary and eerie appearance the latter had, this new dragon had a majestic appearance and a sacred aura surrounding it.

Its diamond scales were perfectly shaped like sculpted gems. They were glowing with alternating black and silver glow as the sunlight reflected on them.

Meanwhile, its eyes looked so sharp with its crimson red pupils. It was coldly glaring at the Zombie Dragon on the ground while releasing some aggressive growls.

At the same time, the surrounding mana which had already been berserk since earlier became even more violent due to the sudden appearance of another Transcendent Being.

Because of the presence of the two greater beings, the space that was maintaining the Battle Arena suddenly became distorted.

After all, it was just an independent space that was supposed to hold a lower-leveled being. And since both Shin and Immortal were able to summon a pair of monsters that exceeded the limits of this independent world.

Crackle! Crackle!

Due to the clashing pressure of the two Transcendent Beings, a lot of void tears started to appear at the whole place and showed some signs that the whole place was about to collapse.

But no matter how dangerous those spatial distortions were, both Shin and Immortal just ignored all of them as they stared at each other with cold gazes.

They both knew that this was going to be the deciding factor of this match.

If Immortal won this round, Shin was going to be at a total disadvantage in the next round since he already revealed most of his cards. But if Shin managed to seize a victory for another time, then was going to be the victor in this match.

*Ding!*

System: The Eclipse Dragon was summoned successfully!

Shin took another look at the final notification that he got before standing on top of the Eclipse Dragon's head.

He continued to have a staredown contest with Immortal for a few more moments while they were standing in the midst of the spatial distortion around them. And as if they had a prior agreement, the two of them simultaneously ordered their respective dragons to attack.

Roar!

Shin pointed his sword at Immortal. And with that gesture, the Eclipse Dragon suddenly spread its massive wings widely before releasing a deafening roar. Then the dragon waved its wings powerfully to launch itself downwards.

Swoosh!

Meanwhile, Immortal lightly tapped his bone scepter at the head of the Zombie Dragon to give his command. And right after he did that, the dragon spread its wings outwards before flapping it in a very powerful manner while also strongly pushing the ground to lift itself up in the air.

Roar!

The two dragons opened their jaws quite widely as they got near at each other. And that epic scene gave every spectator a goosebump which made them hold their breaths and stared intensely at their virtual screens.

All of them were waiting for the collision of these two colossuses as they all knew that this was going to be the final clash of this match.

And this final bout was going to be the best highlight of the match which was going to be engraved on everyone's mind.
