Child of Destiny

797 Being Sieged from Different Directions (Part 1)

...

Shin felt an intense urge of wanting to fight Faker after realizing that the latter had regained his old form. But unfortunately, he couldn't do it right now given their current situation.

Regardless, Shin still went to the place where Faker and the crimson knight were fighting, attracting the attention of the latter.

"Huh?"

Killion, who was behind the crimson armor, was immediately taken back the moment when he saw Shin. 'What is this guy doing here? Don't tell me they already cleared all of our members who are dispatch on the other side of the map!'

Swoosh!

He then disengaged from Faker as quickly as possible, while looking warily to Shin.

Faker, on the other hand, didn't chase him and just watched him create a considerable distance between. But at the same time, he was making sure that Killion would not be able to escape if he tried to retreat.

In the meantime, Shin was finally able to have a good look at the crimson knight. And even though he couldn't see the information of that player, he could still guess who it was. "You must be Killion, am right?"

Hearing those words, Killion's body suddenly turned stiff as he didn't expect that Shin would know who he was. Especially when his details were being hidden by the special item that he got from his captain.

"Do you have a business with this guy?" asked Faker to Shin without removing his eyes from Killion.

"Well, our quest has something to do with him. We suspect that he has the thing that we need to proceed to the next part of the quest that we are doing," replied Shin as he also locked his gaze to Killion.

In meantime, the man in question was currently looking warily at the two. And the moment he heard Shin saying that he had something that they needed for their quest, he could already tell that the guy was looking for the three tokens that he had on him.

On the other hand, Faker suddenly remember something and quickly took out an item from his inventory space. "Is it something like this?"

Hearing that, Shin quickly turned at Faker for a moment as saw a token at the latter's hand. And right after he saw that, he immediately realized what Faker and the others were doing in this place.

'If we add the one that we have on our side, then we now have two out of the five tokens that can help us activate the portal,' thought Shin to himself before turning his attention back to Killion.

'And from what Kristle said, the corrupted cult has the remaining three,' he added as his gaze turned into a sneering look.

"Are you done with him? Can I borrow him for a moment? I have something to discuss with him," said Shin to Faker.

Hearing that, the assassin just shrugged his shoulders to indicate that he didn't care anymore. He already got what he wanted from Killion and gather enough data about the corrupted sacrifice.

Getting permission from Faker, Shin quickly took out a prison prism from his inventory bag before asking Killion. "Can you surrender quietly, so that we can avoid wasting our time? I sure you know that you don't stand a chance against us."

"Tsk!"

Killion would naturally not let himself get captured that easily. So, right after he heard the brief conversation between the two, he was already making his preparation to run.

Unfortunately, such thoughts were pretty impossible as long as he was in front of Faker's presence. He couldn't even move a muscle under the assassin's sharp gaze.

'D*mn it!' cursed Killion silently as tried to think of a way to escape his current predicament.

Running away was already nigh impossible earlier when he was fighting Faker alone, much less doing it right now when Shin just arrived.

Understanding that it was already too late to get out of this place, he didn't have a choice but to accept his fate. After all, even trying to commit suicide in front of these two was also impossible, much less trying to run away from them.

Having that in mind, Killion surrendered and let himself get captured by the two while hoping that the main group that was planning to attack the heart of the Saint Heaven Kingdom to succeed.

Meanwhile, as Shin and the group were clearing the Sky Deceiving Valley, all of the Corrupted Cult members that they had killed were not moving towards the ravenous point that their leaders had told them.

Most of these members were either knights or assassins. There were also a couple of berserkers here and there, but they were only in the minority.

It was pretty clear that they were another function within the Corrupted Cult since most of them were melee players unlike the members of the Undying Guild mostly composed of necromancers.

Not long after, a pair of players suddenly arrived and quickly attracted the attention of all of the players within the vicinity.

"Is everyone already here?" asked one of the hooded figures who was carrying a huge hammer behind him.

Hearing his words, one of the Corrupted Cult members standing at the forefront of the line suddenly took a step forward before answering. "We already have everyone, sir!"

"Then start moving your asses now! We are now heading to our target!" said the hooded guy before turning around and heading towards a certain direction.

In the meantime, when the other members of the corrupted cult saw the direction that he was heading, they couldn't help but knit their eyebrows in confusion until the guy standing at the forefront unable to help himself and asked. "We are you heading, Sir?"

Hearing that, the hooded guy with a huge hammer behind him suddenly halted his steps before looking over his shoulders. "Towards our target city."

When the others heard those words, they further knitted their brows in confusion as the man in the front asked once again. "But isn't the Holy City in the opposite direction?"

The hooded guy suddenly smirked after hearing that before nodding his head. "I know."

"Excuse my incompetence, sir. But isn't our Holy City our target?" asked the guy in front of the group.

The hooded guy started chuckling when he heard those words before asking in return. "Who says that it is our target?"

After that, he started laughing out loud before resuming his step once again, continuing to walk towards the direction that he was originally heading.

It was at that movement that the others realized that they were all wrong. Everyone thought that they were going to launch a siege on the Holy City since it was the current heart of the Saint Heaven Kingdom, the center of everything.

On the other hand, the guy who was asking the question earlier suddenly clenched his fist when heard those words. He wanted to know more but it would only arouse suspicion, so he chose to remain silent and just nodded his head.

'We assumed that they are going to attack the Holy City and put everything to defend that place. But it looks like we have been mistaken all this time,' he thought to himself as he went back to his previous position.

After making sure that everything was in order, he immediately give the instruction to march forward. "Move!"

He was about to lead his row when the other hooded person, who came alongside the guy with a huge hammer, suddenly grabbed his shoulder and pull him to the side. "Yoh! I think we have something to discuss first."

On the other hand, on a mountain range near the Holy City, Immortal was gathering his forces with extreme secrecy.

He already instructed his guild to sneak into the Saint Heaven Kingdom. He couldn't move their main forces since there were still a lot of things that they need to do in the Blind Abyss Empire, especially with the recent event that happened there.

He also couldn't bring any of his apostles since they needed to lead the guild at a time like this where Immortal was not present.

But at the very least, he could have their elite members and special troops to assist him in this operation.

He was unwilling to join this operation at first since he was trying to lay low due to the consecutive events that happened recently. His reputation also suffered a lot due to his consecutive defeats against Shin.

Even though he was not in his peak state during that time, a defeat was still a defeat. Excuses were only meant for sore losers.

If not for the good information network that his guild had and the resources that he was providing the cult, then he would most likely end up like Thirio.

Immortal looked at the Holy City from the top of a mountain with a deep frown. "I am going to succeed this time."

After that, he turned around and looked at the army of necromancers lined up behind him before saying. "Let's go! We are moving out!"
