Conquering The World With One Piece

Chapter 29 - Conflict at Mariejois meeting...

In the center of the large meeting hall in Pangaea Castle, Akainu was rushing at me with a blazing fist.

Most of the Marines in the room had gone pale from the shock waves produced by the speed of the punch alone; everyone could tell that Akainu wasn't holding back.

Some distance away from us, Tsuru and Momousagi activated their devil-fruit powers in worry to stop Akainu; however, they weren't close enough to intercept the punch at all.

I, on the other hand, stood my ground leisurely without doing anything. The future had already been foreseen by me after all…

CHUNK- FISSS-

Out of nowhere, a large chunk of ice cube came in the trajectory of Akainu's punch. His fist went though and evaporated the ice but was slowed down enough for me to be safe.

The next moment, Aokiji jumped from his chair towards us and said, "Arara… Don't you always go a little too far, Akainu? All the boy did was offer you a little criticism for your failure."

Being interrupted in the middle of his duties, Akainu turned his complete attention towards the perpetrator. He glared angrily at Aokiji as magma started covering his body once again.

"It was your fault in the first place that Nico Robin escaped that day in Ohara!"

Aokiji sighed, and he surrounded his body with heavy white mist to counter the magma. Although he was probably the laziest person in this room without Kizaru being here, he knew he was the only one capable of and willing to stop Akainu's actions at all costs.

Just as the atmosphere in the hall became even tenser from the water vapor forming from the clash of ice and magma…

RUMBLE-RUMBLE-

Flashes of blue lightning surrounded the room and swept away the magma and ice to the corner. I levitated slightly from the ground and smirked loudly.

"Thanks for the assist Admiral Aokiji, but I think I could have handled that measly punch from that dog easily!"

Everyone's eyes froze after witnessing me deliver another offending line to Akainu. Nonetheless, no one dared to harbor any complaints for my actions in the heat of the moment.

The lightning flash was a stark reminder to people that my devil-fruit powers alone matched the offensive powers of the Mag-Mag fruit while being more versatile than the Ice-Ice fruit. Having me as an enemy was a bad idea for those who weren't made of rubber.

"Looks like I was right; you need to be punished more to correct your ways!"

Akainu didn't back down at all and started producing magma once more.

From the side, Aokiji started preparing to unleash his ice at Akainu at any given moment. Even though his eyes blinked in surprise from my actions and power, he wasn't willing to let me engage in a fight with that magma monster. Like the other admirals, he wasn't aware that my absolute power was high enough to hold my own against Akainu.

The struggle for dominance within the three elements was about to begin when…

"STOP THIS NONSENSE!!!"

BOOOM-

The large round table in the middle of the hall was cracked into two pieces. Everyone turned their heads to gaze at the person responsible for making this scene.

It was Sengoku who was fuming and breathing roughly from anger. In his time as the fleet admiral, he never had such disrespectful subordinates who would dare to make such a mess in Mariejois. When did the Marines become so rowdy under his command?

"If anyone dares to create a ruckus anymore, he will answer to me! Is that clear?!"

Though Akainu and I didn't want to end this just yet, we gritted our teeth and saluted along the rest of the Marines in the room. "Yes, Fleet Admiral!"

"Good, then the discussion of this 'Shadow Man' fugitive is over! All of you are dismissed for now…! And you 3…. I'm going to call you all for a private meeting soon enough!"

Akainu, Aokiji, and I nodded and left with the rest of the staff. It was an eventful meeting today but not because of the emergence of a new fugitive for sure.

In the hallways of the Pangaea castle…

I was on my way towards my mom who had walked a little ahead towards the bandolas that carried people down to the Red Port.

"Hey, you! Magnus Leo!"

A heavy voice entered my ears from behind me. I glanced behind to see it was from vice admiral Ronse, a giant-man with a medieval mask. He was walking along with vice admiral Leone, a blonde-haired giant-woman with blue eyes.

Those two were both vice admirals from the Giant Squad whose warriors housed much more strength than your average Marine from the same rank.

Ronse walked over to me and glared me down from above.

"You dare to complain about the actions of Admiral Akainu?! We all have learned to never question the actions of a superior!"

I smiled wryly and scratched my head; I didn't want to deal with this giant at all. Before I could reply, TAP-TAP- Leone laughed next to us and brought her giant hand to pat my much smaller head.

"Ronse, you're being so strict here to such a cute kid. I, for one, am a warrior like Leo here who'll never be afraid to voice my opinions… You should come over with those famous rice crackers and meet us giants for tea sometimes too, Leo!"

"Hahaha, I'll be over there to meet you all for sure, Leone!" I replied, even though I feared losing my limited supply of my rice-crackers to the giants.

Ronse frowned at our side and said, "I'm just saying that you need to respect your superio-"

"You two, get over here immediately!"

A serious and firm voice sounded from behind them. It was Lacroix who was like a big-brother figure to many in the Giant Squad. Leone waved me farewell and the two giants walked away from me.

When I went some distance away from them, Lacroix started talking to the other two giants…

"You both don't need to say much to Vice Admiral Leo. The last thing we want to do is be involved in a power struggle between people much stronger than us…"

Leone nodded, while Ronse c.o.c.ked his head to the side in confusion.

"What are you talking about big brother? We can surely beat him; he's so much smaller than us!"

At that moment, Leone smacked Ronse's head and said, "An idiot giant like you wouldn't even be afraid of fighting a Yonko one day!"

A minute later, I was able to see Aokiji some distance away from me. I ran towards him and said, "Thanks, Admiral Aokiji! I appreciate your willingness to help me! I owe you one…"

Aokiji gave me a sideway glance and stopped walking. His lazy eyes with his laid-back style made one wonder if this man really was the Admiral of the Marine forces.

"Don't worry about it; I'm not a fan about how Akainu goes about things anyway… Also, I'm the one who owes you for taking out that treacherous Crocodile."

"Haha, it was my luck to catch his betrayal…"

The next moment, Aokiji waved me farewell and said, "Keep doing a good job, Leo; and even though Akainu is not a man to hold grudges, it's not a good idea to anger him like you did. There are more official ways of becoming an Admiral… not that I think you can beat anyone of us anyway."

Thuk-Thuk-

Just as Aokiji started walking away from me, Tsuru and Momousagi found me and rushed at my location.

My mom gave me a hug after finally getting the chance to see me again. It looked like Akainu attacking me was slightly traumatizing for her. Well, to the bystander, Akainu's punch did look like it was strong enough to kill me after all.

Tsuru shook her head and said, "You're too young and inexperienced. Don't get carried away and offend people on your whims… I think your mom's worry should explain more to you…"

Later, Tsuru left me alone with my mom. I embraced my mom's trembling body tightly for some time and then gave her a kiss on her cheek.

My mom looked at me with teary eyes and said, "You have to promise not to get yourself hurt doing such stupid things!"

I clutched her arms with mine and said, "Of course, I promise I'll stay alive. Now, let's go on that date already…!"

My mom's expression brightened, and we walked towards the bandolas.

**

In an unknown town somewhere in the Grand Line … 2 mysterious figures were conversing with each other in a private room. Presently, the two people were staring at an old copy of the World Economy News Paper's East Blue edition.

"Are you sure you have tracked the right person?"

"Hahaha, I am certain he's the man the man that saved Nico Robin…! How do we use this information now?"

"Hmmm… Let's leave him alone for now. We'll set a dialogue with him when the need arises."

The man took a closer look at the figure in the newspaper of Magnus Leo and rubbed his chin in deep contemplation.
