* The Crucifixion, Death and Burial of Jesus

- In your own words, give three instances when Scripture prophecy was fulfilled regarding Jesus' crucifixion and death. Then give the OT scripture address where we can find these prophecies.

- Who were the women that were present during the time of Jesus' crucifixion. [Try to compare it with other gospel accounts and see if there were names of other women mentioned here.]

- Who was the only male disciple that was present during the time of Jesus' crucifixion?

- Where do you think were the other disciples?

- in verse 26-27, why do you think Jesus entrusted His mother, to the disciple whom He loved, and not to His other siblings?

What lesson did you learn today?

Answer:

Topic: Crucifixion, Death and Burial of Jesus

Date: 11/27/2019

1. Daniel 9:24-27 ---

"4 "Seventy 'sevens'[a] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish[b] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.[c]

25 "Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One,[d] the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing.[e] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.'[f] In the middle of the 'seven'[g] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple[h] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him"

Explanation:

The Messiah will come in order to bring the rebellion to an end, to put a stop to sin, to wipe away iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

After that decree, 7 weeks and 62 weeks passed, the Jerusalem was recovered and rebuild.

There is a plaza built and a moat built. But, this is under the difficult times when Jerusalem was under the Roman Empire.

After 62 weeks, the Messiah will be cut - off and and will become nothing. (His Cruxifixion)

In Jesus's Second Coming, his people destroy the city and the sanctuary. There would be a flood, and until the end there will be war and desolation. And He would make a firm covenant to the believers and make offerings (prayer offerings) on the wings of the Temple, and put destruction to his enemies in Jerusalem.

2. Mary, the mother of Jesus

3. John

4. They were afraid. They were afraid of Romans that's why they're hiding.

5 . Because John is his beloved disciple. He knew that John would take Mary in his home.

6. I learned from the lesson today that Jesus is prophesied by Daniel that he is the Anointed one.
