Daughter Of The Moon

Ling QingYue returned to her hut and to properly read the techniques given to her by Xie Feng. The qi technique was the Moon Water Incantation which was a simplified version of a high ranked legend technique called the Moonlit Lake Incantation, they both focus on the density of one's yuan qi. Ling QingYue's yuan qi was already very pure, but because of this purity, the amount of yuan qi she has was only around 50-60% of people with the same cultivation as her, so this technique was very suitable.The second technique was the movement technique Moon-rise shift which allows the user to move very quickly for several seconds so that it seems like a shift rather than moving. The third technique was a simple offensive saber technique called starlight strike, this technique contains 5 moves, starlight chop, dance of starlight, starlight constellation and the final move starlight strike. Ling QingYue started to practice these techniques, she first started with the Moon Water Incantation to increase her yuan qi and therefore her stamina, of course, she still ran around a track she made in her piece of land to increase her physical stamina. She had also obtained a lower rank defence technique called the jaded phoenix protection which focused on strengthening one's body and internal organs but also flexibility of the body, this technique had 7 layers.

The Jade Forest city Tournament was only half a month away, and within the fourteen days, Ling QingYue had practised the Moon Water Incantation to 60% and increased the amount of her yuan qi by 80%. She had already mastered the movement technique and as for the starlight chop, she had mastered the first two moves, the starlight chop and the dance of starlight. Now that there were only 2 or 3 days left, she decided to go out for some more experiential training in the Jade Forest to increase her battle awareness.

As she headed towards the second ring of the Jade Forest where spiritual beasts were equal to around 3rd or 4th layer of the harmonisation realm, she recognised a few of her fellow outer disciples battling it out with a peak 4th layer harmonisation realm spiritual beast, the Golden Crowned Chicken Snake. Several of them were already severely injured and there was only one person left holding it back. Ling QingYue decided to help them as building connections was almost as important as personal strength, something she had learnt in her last life. Not only that but this was also a good spiritual beast to sharpen her skills on, it wasn't too strong that she wouldn't get severely injured but it was also strong enough to pose some challenge.

Once Ling QingYue had gotten there, the one disciple that was holding it back had also been severely injured and the rest of them could no longer battle.

"H-h-hey" the one disciple that could still battle wheezed out "You should go, this spiritual beast it too strong, it's on the verge of breaking through, if you leave now, you might still live, hurry"

"Well, it looks like you need some help, and since I'm here already you might as well accept it."

The disciple turned around and had a glimpse of his would be saviour, he was shocked to the core. It was a little girl standing before him with a cultivation of only the 2nd layer of harmonisation realm. How could she hold it back when he, a 15 year old teen with a cultivation of peak 3rd layer of harmonisation realm couldn't? He paused slightly, a big mistake on his part as the Golden Crowned Chicken Snake slammed it's tail into his c.h.e.s.t, he collapsed against a tree and blacked out.

"My, if only he had not worried so much.." Ling QingYue sighed as she battled it out with the Golden Crowned Chicken Snake.

The Chicken Snake hissed at her, seeing that it's opponent seemed to be much weaker than itself as she had a lower cultivation, it became careless. It swung out it's tail at her, Ling QingYue countered with her saber, although it was only a casual swing, she didn't dare to underestimate this Chicken Snake as just that had 800 kg's of force behind it. Luckily she had already cultivated the jaded phoenix protection to the peak of the fifth layer and this strike didn't do too much damage.

"ching.." her saber rang out and the tip of the Chicken Snake's tail fell off, it hissed and started to use it's full battle capabilities not underestimating her anymore, swinging the remainder of it's tail with it's full force and using venom, the battle became even more intense. After a couple of minutes however, the Chicken Snake was beheaded and Ling QingYue landed lightly beside the corpse.

When Yang Liu woke up, the Chicken Snake was lying in a pool of it's own blood with it's core missing and most of his team had gone. Although the core was the most valuable part of a spiritual beast, it's body has uses too. Seeing the corpse of the Chicken Snake, Yang Liu was shocked again, he wondered how the little girl had managed to kill it when his team could barely injure it. He shook his head, dissected the corpse of the Chicken Snake and left.
