Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 103 - Battle

As more vicious wolves charged into the camp quarter.

A sword chain bolt suddenly reeled itself forward, and the chain-link coiled itself around a death wolf neck with a tight grasp, before being strangled to death.

Meanwhile, the sword tip was like an arrow as it pierced through the left eye of a second death wolf and the sharp edges made it exited out of its skull. The death wolf struggled as it howled in pain, before crumpling to the ground with a final struggle.

As if by a chain reaction, a death wolf forcefully follows through a loophole in their defense, landing within the area occupied by Tobi's alliance.

Following his mental world calculated trajectory, Tobi pulled the trigger of a pistol crossbow he had borrowed earlier.

With the imbue of air elemental energy, the arrow drew a brilliant arc. Immediately afterward, it drills towards the death wolf at the distance.

There was a loud whimpering howl from the wolf at the distance, as the death wolf raised a bleeding limp foreleg upward, and it seemed to have been pierced by the arrow. As it hopped backward in pain, and the claw foreleg seemed to have already been dismantled in the process.

The twilight children who were at Tobi's rearguard were all stunned and stupefied, the only thought on their minds at the moment was to exact a thousand ways to kill the death wolf.

With so many birds after one stone.

They all swarmed into motion like lite bees, rushing forward crazily to not give the death wolf any time to escape, to vent their rage and frustrations.

The standoff clashed of the twilight children and the Death wolf lasted for bȧrėly about a few minutes.

"Damn, ba*tard!" The freckled boy cursed, as he pulled out a little dark dagger from his waist pouch and held on his right hand, and he stabbed fiercely multiple times at the death wolf, who appeared to be at its last wit.

After putting the little dark dagger back at his waist pouch, the freckled boy stared at the death wolf corpse with intense eyes, as he felt a sense of contentment.

It didn't take them much time, to clean their little battlefield and leave.

As soon as they were done, they walked towards Tobi, who didn't notice the passion and curiosity, that their stare created towards him.

Yet, only some sounds came out of their mouths, though they resemble words, toward Tobi, it had no meaning as he had already left to rejoin the black steel Knights.

Tobi compared the differences between using a pistol crossbow and using a clawed gauntlet. 'It looks like I'm more suited towards this claw gauntlet than a crossbow. Even though it is also much safer. I still need to decide what to do, and how to get my hands on a prey.'

'It might take a while, but my prey will probably get my undivided attention.'

His hands were opened in front of him, as the bronze color of the claw gauntlet slowly became fiery red.

Prior to Tobi's early preparation and alarm, the losses on his side had been the least. it was considered a bit safe apart from the area around the black steel Knight, who held a whip and the sacred formation.

"Huff" Noah heave in a mouthful of air as he used a sword, that was fiery red in color corresponding to his fiery hair and flushed red face.

He held it tightly, and he toughly fended off a vicious vicious wolf that was leaping towards him.

His eyes suddenly went blurry for a moment, from the gold dust that emanated from the air, he felt a force graze past his shoulder, almost making him fall to the ground. And as well as losing the grip on his sword.

'I can't die! I don't want to die. Not after enduring so much, I refuse to be some food for a stupid wolf in a distant desert!'

Noah motivated himself silently, as he made a narrow escape. Of his remaining comrades, two had already died. Among the remaining ones, if they weren't dead, then they had already run for their lives.

He used all his willpower to convert every iota of his Mana, to his legs. As his survival instincts kicked in, the only thought on his mind was to flee for his life, with his body and mind working in unison.

At this moment, Noah was arranging his final thoughts when he saw the scene of Tobi shooting off an arrow from a pistol crossbow. causing his dim eyes to see a glimmer of hope.

'That's right! Tobi still has strength and he's so impressive just now. He can definitely save me at least, or even be a shield while I fully escape!'

Lots of thoughts were racing through his mind, but Noah didn't hesitate anymore as he accelerated his staggering movement and began to run in Tobi's direction.

"Hey, Tobi please help me!"

'Well, well, well. What do we have here?' Tobi held the pistol crossbow, hearing the muffled sound as he turned around to take a look, 'It's my prey after all!'

The current Noah had bloodshot eyes, and his clothes were full of claws markings. Not only had he forgotten he had a sword, but his whole body was also filled with wounds.

'It's a pity! You've looked for the wrong person! Did you really think I would be so magnanimous?' Tobi's mouth formed a grin. His ferocious red eyes were now deep-set.

'With the black steel Knights being cautious, I don't dare to take my chances and kill a vicious wolf! But if it's only trying to save a comrade, no one will think too much of it.'

Tobi forced himself to hide his cruel smile as he looked at Noah.

He stood there for a moment, before making a little movement towards his direction. Tobi put on his best innocent expression, playing the wolf in sheep clothing.

His movement became faster as he ran, and smiled.

'He will definitely save me!' Noah saw Tobi's smile, and he heaves in a sigh of relief. He continuously encouraged himself, increasing his pace as he ran.

"Ohhhh! Noooo!" At that moment, Noah was terrified as he senses a vicious wolf suddenly sprang up from a patch of gold desert, it maw was wide open as it planted its fangs on his leg, halting his movement and as well making him fall to the ground.

"How, how come???" Noah's mind went blank for a moment, as he fell to the ground. His world was crumbling, the only bit of hope he could muster was Tobi who was running towards him.

The vicious wolf behind him dragged his figure backward. Its teeth bit down again, and blood began flowing non-stop.

'I really hope the ba*tard wolf, doesn't waste as much as a drop of blood. Otherwise, not only will I be forced to kill it, but I will also die of seeing so much blood wasted.' Tobi thought.

At this point, no one noticed that his gaze was growing more fervent from seeing blood.
