Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 38 - Race

The large group was like a museum of both human and other race audiences. Humans, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, half-elves, and many other different types of blood all coupled together, leaving Tobi overwhelmed.

If it wasn't for the fact, he had seen so much more over the years he wouldn't have believed, other races existed besides fantasy.

There were also a lot of other professions amongst the mercenaries, but there wasn't a single leading commanding single, so everything appeared chaotic with all sorts of people mixed up together.

Tobi could see a few dwarves riding wild boars, as they ran past him their figure would continue to jump up from what seemed to be hiccuping.

Even though he was amazed, he was also dumbfounded.

'There are even more races than I thought the normal human continent has. Though the groups are all mess up…'

These groups of people allowed Tobi who knew nothing about the outside world to have a better understanding of the world of Originals.

The world wasn't completely made up of the Ancient Vampire, Holy humans (saint), Lycanthrope, and Witches, but there are also other races that comprise the world of Originals as well.

But from what he took note of, these other races seemed to be made up from the most common race among other hidden races.

There were also sub-professions, such as thieves, hunters, and ȧssassins. Compared to ranked professions known to the general public, they were actually more hidden.

Tobi could also see some low-ranked bloodline holders as well as druids, they were as Horus had described back at his home. They also seemed to be attached to a few of those large mercenary groups and were employed by the medium-size merchant groups.

As for the other groups, Tobi was currently part of, they could be considered to be quite weak in comparison to the others.

They were also employed by a few small merchant groups, that seemed to had no other option.

With the previous activities the sea had been going through, not being able to sell their goods off was already bad enough for them, but there were also terrifying beasts of the various zones, destroying and attacking civilians and merchants which was enough to make their business bankrupt.

In this world apart from the continent and the cities, those who could request and hire for protections were either the nobles, rich aristocrats, or large merchant organizations which could have the means to afford the good professions under their dispatch goods.

Hence, through the threat of being bankrupt, a few of these merchants had no other choice but to force themselves, between hiring cheap mercenaries and the danger zones.

Initially, Tobi had his doubts about the strength of these low-ranked warriors. But now he realized they were only going to be nothing but cannon fodders if there was beasts siege.

"Please everyone can I have your attention, I hope I can entrust the fates of me and my sister to you!"

Just then before the journey has fully begun, their employers had come to see them personally. It's was a pair of two noblewomen who seemed like sisters.

"Haha… Don't worry, … With R-Black{Random-Black} around, those damn ogres will die as they come!"

A loud sound could be heard followed by a hoarse voice.

The leader of one of those little groups, at least in name, made his promise while puffing his ċhėst. This person was recognized to be one of those halflings, with a beast bloodline which was called R-B.

He was one of those with a hidden profession, of being a rare gunslinger, though the buŧŧ of the gun at his waist was already filled with rusty signs, he had still kept it.

Tobi couldn't help sighing, to him he felt like the firearm was nothing but just a scrap metal at this point, which could only be useful as a hammer in close combat.

Though he hadn't met all his so-called 'Team mates' yet, but with his enhanced memory just looking at them was enough to stick their faces and names onto his memory.

'Besides that inferior beast gunman called R-B, there is also a halfling thief called Kain, with a human archer who is called Luciano Jil and myself, a warrior.'

'This is definitely the worst of the worst. We had only met yesterday through the attendant at the Mercenary Guild. Am sure these sisters had been made a fool of and scammed by that attendant…'

Tobi never thought there were such fraudulent organizations like this at least in the normal human world, it is like it was rather established temporarily with their aim to trick customers. Still, he wouldn't think over it, he had learned a lot over the years to know when to buŧŧ in or when not to.

'Even though they have been cheated of their own money, their bit and piece of the commission had still gotten them the protection of my Lordship Pride Dracula. Lucky bastards. You guys really hit it rich this time!' Tobi thought to himself with a smile.

At this moment, within the horse carriage, the noble lady couldn't help heave in a sad sigh, knowing fully well that she had likely dug a grave for herself.

By the side of the horse carriage, the hanging curtain was slowly being pulled to the side revealing the corner, together with a beautiful face. She looked to be within the age of 25 or 26 years old, though she looked much more mȧturė when compared to other young women.

Nothingtheless, she was still beautiful in her prime. However, on her face one noticed she seemed sorrowful from her furrowed brows as if she had some doubts.

"Please everyone, may I have your attention!'

"In order to ensure the safety of this journey, I've specially invited an adventurer."
