Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 95 - Great desert of death 2

The dimly lit carriage had only Tobi inside. The interior of the carriage let off a very faint subtle odor. The stench was a mixture of rot and sweat. Because of this, the knights had let the children spend some time outside. Once they got to pit stops, they would be given liberty to the outside like little wild horses coming out to play.

It had been over a month since they arrived in the be Great desert of death.

Right now, Tobi's body physique and mind world had not only become tougher and durable but there was also a qualitative increase in terms of his Mana core and mental control. With every circle of Mana core expansion and compression, his grey Mana core would turn a bit brighter making his control over the natural elemental energy of Earth better.

As he deepens the practice over his breathing Technique, his body and mind would work in unison.

By infusing oneself with natural Mana, one could do almost anything. It was the same principle with inhaling and exhaling of oxygen in the body. With each routine of his practice, he could call upon the force of natural mana bit by bit, but instead of wasting his time giving it a form, Tobi could let it directly merge with himself through his Mana core and infuse with any natural element.

While Tobi sat legs cross, his skin had a wisp of bronze on his entire body as it began to harden, the tenuous feel over the floor started to get duller and duller, this was the effect of infusing with Earth element. With Earth element a person's physique would become tenacious to pain, giving Tobi the advantage to fight for a longer period of time, ignoring getting injuries quickly.

Tobi could also infuse himself with a bit of light elemental energy, to accelerate his body healing factor. But that was one of the new natural elemental energy he was finding difficult to grasp. With various natural elements, Tobi got various effects and uses.

Even with all this discovery and progress Tobi had, it could not erase the urge and perpetual taste for blood. After his section of breathing routine, he opened his eyes.

'My urge is becoming a bit unbearable, I must try to use Mana Accumulator to resist it.

'I wonder how father, mother, and sisters are faring' Tobi said thought to himself, with a bit of exasperation.

Thinking up to here, Tobi felt depressed. There were times he wished he could see them, but he knew at the moment it was all a wishful thought.

During the past few months, their traveling group had already passed through several kingdoms, with the black knights taking the liberty to always announce it to them. It was as if they were telling them, escaping was only a stupid illusion of their minds.

Eventually, they had completely entered deep within the wilderness.

Ever since the traveling group had first entered the area, they had already encountered danger several times. Although only one or two persons died, Tobi's senses and instinct toward danger had slowly grown stronger. He could not wait to quench his thirst, his urge for blood was slowly increasing by the day.

The various smell of the children's fragrances waxed into his nostril the aroma was intoxicating, the constant hunger was eating him up even to the point of creating imaginations.

He could tell the difference of their blood, how unique it was and how enticingly sweet to consume, even their heartbeats followed a special thump rhythm over the other, most importantly he could feel their pulse slowly beating as it dances around their necks.

There were many questions running through his mind, it was his last bit of reasoning that kept him from pouncing on the children.

'If I drank blood would the urge stop? If true how much was I to consume? Wouldn't those black knights kill me if I suddenly lost my sense of reason to attack any of the twilight children?'

As Tobi had his thoughts rummaging his mind, subconsciously he was staring at the twilight children his gaze seemed to be strange, yet within his pupils, there were a slight red shade ferocious glints.

In between Elijah chattering, he had suddenly realized he was being ignored by the absentminded Tobi again. Although he debated on if he should maybe snap him out of his thoughts, but had been unable to make a quick decision.

Eventually, he and Matthew decided to pay attention to what he was doing, Tobi looked as though he was spaced out. Matthew thought to himself, though it wasn't out of Tobi's character it was a bit weird every time he did it.

'What his wrong with Tobi?'Elijah wondered, his spaced-out expression seemed a bit off as he intently gazes at a group of twilight children.

"What was that?" Elijah thought out loud as he turned toward his brother, as they both looked pale from this sudden fear they felt.

However, while in panic they both yelp from fright as they reeled backward, the sound jolted up Tobi from his thoughts. He turned towards the pair of brothers, unaware why they look a bit sick, and was staring at him like they saw a wild beast.

He hadn't even noticed they had been staring at him earlier, 'I wonder what happened to them.' He had only space for a bit due to his blood urge but saw the brothers acting weird and funny.

Meanwhile, earlier what they felt was seemingly a deadly predator had stared at them, on their faces were bits and pieces of sweat.

Their heart skips a double thump as they noticed that he was looking at them with a hint of curiosity, but for some reason when they looked at his eyes it no longer looked terrifying.

In Tobi's mind, he wondered, if the cause of their fright was his blood urge that scared them witless, so far for Tobi the urge was making him lose control of himself bit by bit, he didn't how much more he could hold it in.
