Divine Emperor of Death

2630 Resurfacing Problem?

Davis and the others were also sent outside the next moment. His expression couldn't help but change as he wanted to ask about so many things, including how one can ascend from this plane to the true immortal world.

He hoped that Tanya would ask him for it. Nonetheless, he turned to look back at Myria, looking at her still have her fists clenched that he couldn't help but smile.

"I didn't expect for you to care so much about what a region ends up as. As expected of a Saintess."

Myria's gaze flickered as she raised her head to glare at him, "Will you not be so rude? I don't deserve such a title anymore."

She turned around and left toward Ellia.

"..."

Davis didn't argue with her. He could see that the title 'Saintess' held a sacred meaning to her. Looks like his teasing went too far. Nonetheless, he turned to look at Natalya.

"How is your progress?"

"Great!~" Natalya wrapped her arms around his as she jumped and pushed herself against him, "If I can incorporate these insights into my Yin and Ice Laws, my prowess would grow by a level at the very least, and when I combine them...."

"Amazing." Davis's eyes flickered as he gazed at her excited figure, "The Frostcloud Sword Empress truly is worthy of her uniqueness. Just a bit of insight from her law intent can allow you to progress this quickly, but for you to comprehend it is also amazing. Still, other than enhancing your intents, your sister Ellia has some gifts for you. Go get them along with Iesha."

He couldn't help but pat her head, causing her to melt as she felt some pride, but she was also confused.

"Gifts...?" She turned to look at Ellia, who was in Nadia's group, before nodding at Davis and running to her.

Davis watched her leave before he stretched his body, turning around and cupping his hands.

"Frostcloud Sword Empress, I would still like to have a chat with you."

Davis waited for a while but seeing that he was taken in after a minute, he turned around and stepped away.

"..." Only to suddenly find himself staring at the Frostcloud Sword Empress.

He was back in the inheritance space, causing him to come out of his reverie as he cupped his hands once again.

"Thank you for listening to my selfishness."

"Speak." The Frostcloud Sword Empress's voice sounded clear and precise, "What do you want to know?"

Davis felt some urgency in her tone, causing him to put his hands down and nod, "First, I want to know what lies ahead for my Natalya as I'm worried over her cultivation manual's influence."

The Frostcloud Sword Empress thought for a moment as she looked elsewhere before she returned her gaze.

"She is walking on a completely different path. Even I cannot say what she would derive or end up having to face but rest assured. Natalya is the first trialist I took notice of in the trials. She is special in a twisted way where her intent is to be obsessed with you, but in a romantic perspective, that is completely beautiful, and that is what carved up how she perceives things and even Laws. You can see these intents from people who are in dual cultivation sects but even there, this is extremely rare. There's nothing to be concerned about as she will complete her own path or die trying."

Davis's brows twitched. The last sentence was extra concerning but hearing even the Frostcloud Sword Empress possess such a high opinion of Natalya, he nodded.

"I see. Secondly, what are the dangers of the First Haven World? What should I be careful of?"

"Are you a Divergent?"

"I'm afraid that would be a yes." He came clean since he was the one asking for advice.

The Frostcloud Sword Empress nodded as though she wasn't surprised, "You should watch out for other Divergents like the one you're with, my junior sister. Divergents don't get along unless we have something in common to rely on, in which case, it would be our master and our sect, so I hope it's the same thing for you."

Davis felt that it was the same for normal people, but he considered that Divergents were characters who were individual to the extreme, distanced from a stable fate, so he nodded again, but he saw that the Frostcloud Sword Empress wasn't finished.

"There lies a group of self-proclaimed Divergent Slayers named the Heaven's Requiem. As the name slightly suggests, hunting Divergents and making a living off of them as they gather karmic luck is their reason for existence. Our Aurora Cloud Gate taught them a lesson millions of years ago, causing them to fracture, but the thing is, we've crushed them multiple times, and they always repeatedly appear again in the future like an undying creature."

"Master said that there is always an equal and opposite force existing and that this was heaven's answer to the Aurora Cloud Gate. If they're absent for a while, then there's a high chance that they could resurface. If so, you should be careful of them."

"Heaven's Requiem..." Davis frowned, shaking his head, "It's only been a few months since I ascended, so I don't know about Divergent Slayers or Heaven's Requiem, but I'll take this to heart."

"..."

The Frostcloud Sword Empress slowly blinked. Just a few months since his ascendance? That would make him a lower-plane dweller where resources were scant. However, she could tell that he possessed enormous wealth to advance this quickly, and considering he had women like Natalya and Tanya, she knew that his prowess would match his wealth.

For a moment, she became confused. Even if he was a Divergent who could influence fate, how fast could he cultivate?

Wouldn't that make him an Anarchic Divergent? But in that case, her master would've accepted him as her disciple. It didn't make sense to her.

Nonetheless, she didn't probe and waited for his next question.

"Lastly, how could we ascend together? From what I read in the records in our Aurora Cloud Gate's Library, I see that everyone who ascended did so separately for some reason."

The Frostcloud Sword Empress couldn't help but find him worthy for caring so much about his family. It was the very essence of what the Aurora Cloud Gate taught its Divergents, but she shook her head and heaved a breath.

"Sigh, you will naturally come to know of it when you become an Immortal Emperor, but indeed, ascensions are individual, and you wouldn't be able to take anyone with you unless you have a taming contract with them or possess a living space within you."

Davis raised his brows, "What about life rings?"

"Plant life and spirits are allowed, but fleshly creatures are not."

Davis grunted. The flesh of spirits was still an energy source as they could literally phase between walls, but it wasn't the same for humans and magical beasts. However, that didn't seem to be the reason for shuttling across, as plant life was allowed.

Clearly, someone limited who and how many could enter and leave.

'World master... sigh...'

Davis shook his head, "I understand. I want to talk to elder more and learn, but I'm afraid that I'll interfere with your guidance to Tanya."

"Indeed. I frankly want to invite my junior sister for a chat and even talk to you about the status of the current Aurora Cloud Gate, but time is of the essence, so I'm going to personally teach Tanya using the remnant soul essence available with me. Farewell."

Davis cupped his hands once again and slightly bowed towards the Frostcloud Sword Empress. When he lifted up his head, he found himself outside. Looking into the distance, he saw his group, but there was no sight of others as they seemed to have finally left, most likely after having confirmed that one of these women really did obtain the inheritance.

Smiling with pride, Davis could only imagine how Tanya's name was going to resound far and wide if they survived this encounter.
