2947 Limit

Above the headquarters of the Divergent Hunt Coalition, many battle formations appeared.

The Great Generals returned- no, retreated from the battlefield where they almost caused the city the Starlight Jade Wolf King was entrenched in to collapse.

Victory was in sight until they heard that they were being attacked by a damn wolf!

Their first thought was that the Starlight Jade Wolf King somehow appeared there to wreak havoc, but as soon as they heard it was a pitch-black wolf, their scalps turned numb, instantly knowing it was the Emperor of Death's immortal beast mount!

They thought he was finally here!

However, it didn't seem to be the case.

Looking at the lone wolf standing amidst a mountain of corpses under the swirling essence of death, one could not help feeling fear over its terrifying abilities because all the Peak Immortal Kings and the others who came within its range met death on the spot; now it stood alone among so many dead bodies without a single hint of fear gleaming in its purplish-golden eyes.

"This bitch…"

Patriarch Killian Zenflame's crimson eyes gleamed with outrage. This death-attributed wolf had completely taken out their reserve troops made out of hundreds of divisions with some kind of death attack that took them out all at once.

Not one of them was able to report to them until a scout nearby reported to them about this grave incident that left the entire coalition feeling unbound fury.

"Kill her!"

*BOOOM!*

The battle formations released their attacks all at once, burying the death-attributed wolf along with the thousands of corpses adorning the headquarters.

The attack caused a huge explosion to occur and completely devastated the land and the outpost constructed, causing a huge crater to appear in a few seconds.

The Immortal King remains of humans, beasts, and feys alike were crushed into millions of pieces as the place wreaked of bloodshed, and the scent of death was still fresh, causing many people to drop their weapons as their expressions went pale.

They silently mourned for their fellow soldiers, a few even shedding manly tears.

If they had been just a bit earlier, perhaps they could have saved them all, as they felt like they would've been able to detect the death-attributed wolf.

This war cost them too much.

"It's not dead."

But suddenly, someone spoke, causing all the troops to look toward the source of the voice as their gazes landed on the Fire Phoenix Clan's Patriarch.

"It… it's killing my people in both the Prefectures!"

Patriarch Killian Zenflame quickly smashed a spatial talisman and stepped inside along with a few other people from the Fire Phoenix Clan.

He couldn't believe their audacity to go surrender to the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan. Otherwise, how could they have been captured?

But still, he felt like they still had the upper hand until he heard that the headquarters was completely decimated. That shrouded his heart in trepidation, and when he arrived at the headquarters and saw the mess, his heart sank as he came to understand that it was true.

Thousands of his reserve soldiers kept to maintain power in this coalition were dead. This was a heavy loss to the Fire Phoenix Clan.

That dread further turned into fury when he heard that the death-attributed wolf was attacking the West Fire Phoenix Prefecture and Southwest Fire Phoenix Prefecture, causing him to instantly abandon his plans here to stop the death-attributed wolf from causing more harm.

Indeed, Nadia was wreaking havoc in both the Fire Phoenix Clan's Prefectures as she hunted down their top-ranking officers, including Generals stationed to protect their zones typically.

Her targets were those who wielded the law, anywhere from a guard to a City Lord. No matter which city she went to, they didn't survive. However, it wasn't long before those two doppelgangers of hers were easily killed.

"Mhm… it's just as big sister said. Once an Ancestor-level character attacked, it's all over."

Nadia flew in the skies with her lush purple-black wings flapping in the air.

She had naturally escaped from the coalition's attack as the thing they had attacked was just her soul body, not even her doppelgangers. She had sent her doppelgangers to attack the Fire Phoenix Clan and got rid of many important people successfully. After all, those cities she descended on had their formations broken because of Davis's tribulation.

As for the cities Southwest Fire Phoenix Clan Prefecture, their defensive formation was naturally weaker as it wasn't their main Prefecture.

Nonetheless, she was quickly killed when the Ancestors arrived and killed her with a single palm.

Her lips curled over, seeing how helpless she still was against the Fire Phoenix Clan's true forces, but she still exuded an air of confidence as she accomplished what she came to do.

Her paws landed on the ground as she appeared before the people of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.

"Starlight Jade Wolf King, I have gotten rid of some trouble for you. I hope you will all continue to toil your lives for the sake of master."

"… Yes?"

The Starlight Jade Wolf King blinked, his smile becoming stiff while he also finally understood what had happened and why the enemy forces retreated. It was because of this woman before him, the death-attributed wolf, that caused every Starlight Jade Wolf to turn stiff from experiencing emotions of reverence.

"Oh. I wasn't supposed to say it that way."

Seeing the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan's people have an awkward expressions on their faces, Nadia used the back of her paw to slap her head. Dark light illuminated her figure before she turned into her human form, causing many wolves to be alarmed by her beauty. However, they saw her taking out a note to read.

"Thank you for sacrificing your lives to help us gain precious time that will, in the end, benefit us all. We will not forget this favor. Say it in a polite way?"

Nadia blinked before raising her head and smiling at them behind her veil, "Well, that's it."

The Starlight Jade Wolf King's brows twitched. He could see that this Empress was not good at socializing, causing him to heave a sigh and shake his head.

"Has he come out yet?"

"Not yet." Nadia shook her head.

"I see." The Starlight Jade Wolf King nodded lightly as though he didn't have any opinion about it.

However, Nadia smirked behind her veil.

"Don't worry. We promise to aid you if they decide to attack again. Leaving my sisters, who will arrive on this battlefield shortly, I personally plan to harass the opposing powers by directly appearing in their cities and causing a silent massacre. Let's see how they can handle my doppelgangers."

Nadia suddenly split into two more images of herself, causing the people of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to tremble as they could feel almost the same kind of prowess radiating from these energy bodies.

"…!"

And right in front of them, they disappeared without a trace.

It was terrifying, allowing them to know it was probably a species technique.

Just what kind of species did she belong to? The only wolf race they knew of that split into a doppelganger was a Twin-Tailed Dusk Wolf, but it was a mortal beast. They hadn't seen an immortal Twin-Tailed Dusk Wolf for a long time.

"Wait!"

Suddenly, Great Ancestor Zenflame shouted. He was too stunned to speak, but when he finally came out of his reverie, Nadia had already disappeared.

"Tell the Emperor of Death that the Fire Phoenix Clan wishes to surrender!"

However, he didn't hold back and screamed at the top of his lungs, causing the people of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to be dumbfounded.

"I have noted your presence, but it doesn't matter, Fire Phoenix Clan's immortal inheritors. What will happen, will happen. Now that there are so many losses on the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, my master will most likely not stop until either of us are dead."

Came a cold voice as though it was resounding from a great distance, causing Great Ancestor Zenflame to grasp at it.

"No! There's still a way! As long as Patriarch Killian Zenflame and Ancestor Reselius Zenflame are captured or dead, this madness can come to an end!"

He shouted out loud. However, there was no reply, causing his expression to turn into one of lament.

Was there no way out of this mess? He knew the more time passed, the more the Fire Phoenix Clan was being endangered.

Hirona and Sierra were also worried. They didn't want to take the same path as Reselius Zenflame.

"Why don't you three just go kill them yourselves, then?" The Starlight Jade Wolf King asked in a confused manner.

Surely, the three immortal inheritors of the Fire Phoenix Clan could just become Immortal Emperors and kill that mastermind instead of coming here to their deaths, even going as far as to humiliate themselves like this by becoming their prisoners.

"Limited." Suddenly, Renfa Jadelight spoke.

Her words pulled the attention of many, causing them all to look at her.

"Limited?" The Starlight Jade Wolf King became even more confused, "What do you mean?"

Renfa Jadelight's expression was complicated as she gazed at the three inheritors of the Fire Phoenix Clan, a hint of respect appearing in her eyes as she understood why they took this decision.

"I learned today that we, immortal inheritors, are limited to the Immortal King Stage as Davion, nor I can break through to the Immortal Emperor Stage."

"What!?"
