Chapter 3455 Taking Care Of The Reaper Soul Legion

"I see."

Davis nodded but shook his head, turning to look at the other Legion Captain, "Lightsky, I said I don't want your wrath, but I changed my mind like the womanizer I am. If you don't like it, how about you oppose me for wanting to have your woman tonight?"

Davis's voice was still casual, even a bit mocking with his provoking gesture as he flicked his finger.

"…"

Despite Davis's question, Lightsky didn't speak, although he appeared to be barely holding his fist back from punching his face, making Davis almost want to provoke him more.

"What? Don't you have a backbone?"

Davis closed one of his eyes, "Or… do you think… she's not worth it?"

"What-"

Lightsky finally spoke, shaking his head lightly, but then caught a glance at Starlily looking at him while still having her head lowered. Her gaze made his heart leap, causing the anger in his heart to subside but also causing frustration to swell infinitely.

"I can't raise my hand against someone I swore to follow and protect, so I will kill myself rather than watch you take her away from me."

Lightsky glared at Davis, his tone one of self-ridicule as though he was helpless.

'What… did you learn how I handle problems or something…?'

Davis blinked.

This answer was almost the best he had heard, pacifying both positions as a lover and a Legion Captain, making Davis wonder if someone had leaked his makeshift script. After all, he expected Lightsky to come swinging at him in a rage, considering he was a passionate and gaudy man who liked to show off even though he was responsible.

Nonetheless, looks like everyone learned he was only acting when he was about to take some disciplinary action. This made him want to do some serious fucked up shit instead, as being feared was also a good layer of defense in addition to being respected.

"Besides, she said she hates me, so I can only think she has some affection for you, and what I'm doing is pretty useless and only ruining her reputation. I may be a carefree man and a showoff, but that doesn't mean I will force her and-"

"No… I… I don't hate you."

Starlily stood up, lightly shaking her head as her gaze shook.

It confused the mind out of Lightsky, making him shake his head.

It caused Davis to inwardly sigh and place a hand on Lightsky's shoulder.

"The only reason she said she hates you is that you fucked it up by making her get caught on suspicion of spying, which would make her position vulnerable and become easier for the taking by the Vice Captains and even other soul warriors. You have basically endangered her despite your gift- so, damn… get some clue. She was afraid you would betray or abandon her the same way you were fearful that I would take her away."

Davis almost rolled his eyes.

As the Legion Master, he really couldn't be playing marriage consultation with his subordinates.

But today, he felt like he must dispel the unneeded fear they had towards him when it came to romantic ventures. Otherwise, it would only breed an environment of distrust and frustration among the members of the Reaper Soul Legion.

Lightsky looked shocked as a few things dawned on him. His gaze trembled as he turned to look at Starlily, whose eyes were moist.

"The person you said you adore… is it me…?"

Starlily nodded her head, tears almost threatening to fall. She moved closer and hugged him as though wanting to be acknowledged by everyone, especially the Legion Master, causing Lightsky to turn shocked as he stood there dumbfounded.

He would do many things to attract her attention and court her, but Starlily always looked disinterested. He was none the wiser about her feelings as she never revealed them, and even when he gave gifts in the form of resources, she would simply say thanks and leave.

He kept it at a limit while trying to court her and finally made her accept an earring by framing it as a speedy and secure messaging talisman useful for missions. He hadn't even displayed the other end was a ring, so he had fun fooling her and eventually thought of showing it after the mission to tease her, but she was then suspected of spying, making her mad, after which he felt disheartened that she cared more about the Legion Master than him.

Now, he understood what had transpired. It was because she had misunderstood his actions that were akin to betrayal and not because she cared about the Legion Master more.

He turned to look at the Legion Master smiling at him before the latter panned his gaze at the Reaper Soul Legion.

"I don't have the habit of stealing women or having affairs with married women, so don't worry. In fact, there might be some provisions for families between the members of the Reaper Soul Legion in the future, so continue to work hard. As promised, you will all become powerful along with me and prosper."

He informed them in a confident tone, thinking if they still had some doubts, then it wouldn't be his fault anymore. He returned back to the flying boat and sat on a ledge, appearing pretty carefree as he viewed the setting sun on the distant horizon.

Panqa and Lanqua smiled at him from the other side, where they were catering to Zanqua's injuries. His actions towards his subordinates made their hearts warm as he was caring for them, feeling wonderful to have gotten such a man. It made them feel like their position as twenty-first and twenty-second wives was pretty irrelevant.

After all, he even went as far as to support them in aiding their evil bandit sister, who possessed plenty of security risks. Despite that, he was full of understanding towards them, making them quite satisfied that they felt like they couldn't ask for more; otherwise, it would be seen as greed.

"Legion Master's Heart Intent is truly powerful."

Threelotus stood behind Davis, her voice sounding delighted. It caused Davis to overlook his shoulder and see her eyes.

"I didn't use Heart Intent. This comes to me naturally because I have a mountain of chaotic emotions to take care of back at home…"

Davis appeared dreadful, as though he was seated on spikes, causing Threelotus to blink at his expression before she giggled.

"Then I wonder if Legion Master could also tell what's going on in my heart."

Threelotus asked with a smile, but her smile was soon received, not able to believe she really asked something like that without thinking.

'Mhmmmmmmmmm!~~~'

She inwardly screamed amidst the silence, not knowing how to get out of this situation.

"Yes."

However, his answer made her heart leap.

"Really?" She couldn't help but ask quickly.

"Yeah, you need some help."

"…"

Threelotus's mind went blank on thinking if the Legion Master had somehow found out about her fantasy. Had his Heart Intent reached a level where he could read minds now?

"…"

Davis saw her ears turn red.

He didn't know what Threelotus thought, but he knew that she needed to stop thinking about him. She was a good, competitive, and obedient woman whom he wasn't willing to sully as he felt like she was only childish and had a bright future ahead of her, yet she was going around making rumors of them together.

He felt that she really needed some help, but as he had thought before, he wasn't going to entertain all of their thoughts as many women had a crush on him. At least for the moment, he had no space for Threelotus because while speaking with her, he could only reminisce about Yotan.

He wondered how she was doing back home as she was either patrolling or on a mission or even both using her Solitary Soul Avatar.

Regardless, after cleaning up the Northern Sphere Bandits hideout, it was already night.

By then, Davis was already back home with Panqa and Lanqua, as he had left earlier to spare himself the awkward situation he created with half the members of the Reaper Soul Legion.

When he came back, he told Panqa and Lanqua something that made them blush deeply before rushing towards Evelynn.
