Additional Effect(s): Minor Healing Skill. Restores 50 HP to the player after use. Cooldown: 60 seconds.

The System Notification of his death showed up. However, Chen Mo noticed other information apart from his death!

“Am I really the first person to die in the game?”

Chen Mo had acquired a title just by dying in the game. What shitty luck he had!

Although the extra attributes from the title were quite pitiful since each attribute was only increased by one, Chen Mo believed the Minor Healing Skill that would restore 50 HP every 60 seconds would be somewhat useful.

However, the addition to the attributes seemed rather useless. The extra one point to Constitution only increased his HP by 20, meaning that the Black Goblins could still kill him in one hit. His title of “Dying at the Speed of Light” was not going to help at all.

A Player would become a spirit whenever they died. While in the Spirit State, the player was unable to interact with a living Player. The only option was to be resurrected.

Chen Mo chose to resurrect. Chen Mo initially thought he would come back to life in the Rookie’s Village, but reality basically proved to him how merciless it could be when he realized he had resurrected at the same spot when he first entered the game.

Chen Mo equipped the title “Dying at the Speed of Light” that he had freshly acquired, giving him a total of 80 HP. He started trying different ways relentlessly to leave the valley, but he quickly realized that although there were not many Black Goblins around, he would always aggro two Black Goblins every time. Their aggro range seemed to be stacking on one another’s, leaving Chen Mo with no gap to sneak through. He ended up dying a few more times, yet he still could not find a way to leave the valley.

“There’s a cave here?”

He resurrected once again. This time, he was brought quite a distance away from the initial spot. He was surprised to see a dark cave along the wall behind him.

“Let’s check it out.”

It was impossible for him to make his way out of the valley, thus it was very likely that there was an exit somewhere in the cave.

The cavern was only wide enough for two people to be walking side by side. It was not deep either, only a depth of thirty meters. He eventually reached the end of the cave, yet he did not encounter a single monster.

“A treasure chest!”

Chen Mo was excited to find a blue-copper chest at the end of the cave. It might contain the exact tools he needed to leave the valley.

Unfortunately, in order to open the chest and acquire what was inside, Chen Mo would have to take out the six white goblins that were guarding it.

White Goblin. Level: 3, HP: 400.

The White Goblins were a level lower than the Black Goblins. However, Chen Mo frowned as he took a closer look at the treasure.

He had the title “Dying at the Speed of Light”. If it was outside, he was quite confident that he could survive the chase by two White Goblins.

However, he was currently in an empty narrow cave. He did not even have enough space to dodge an attack. He would have to fight the White Goblin head-on if they caught up to him.

Taking Chen Mo’s current attributes into account, if he was to fight a Level 3 monster with brute force, it was pretty obvious that he would end up as the one dying. He had zero chance of winning, unless the monster was retarded.

That being said, Chen Mo did have the Minor Healing Skill that could restore 50 HP. These White Goblins were not strong enough to kill him instantly like the Black Goblins, meaning that he actually had a total of 130 HP.

However, the White Goblins were only a level weaker than the Black Goblins, meaning that their damage would not differ by much. If Chen Mo was hit, it would at least cost him above 40 HP. If the damage of every hit was below 44 HP, he would still be alive after taking three hits. However, if the hits were all above 45 HP, he could only take two hits. The third was surely going to kill him.

After doing some calculations, Chen Mo approached the treasure box to aggro a White Goblin.

“How the heck am I supposed to do this!?”

Chen Mo eventually realized he was being too naive as usual when he learned that the White Goblins in the cave were paired up too. He would aggro two White Goblins every time. As soon as he was within range, two White Goblins started charging at him furiously.

Chen Mo backed away after briefly grieving for the fate that was awaiting him. It was a pity that he could not outrun the White Goblins. Otherwise, he could slow down on purpose and lure the two White Goblins out of the cave and take his time to kill them.

The two White Goblins caught up to him when he was around ten meters away from the exit.

One of the White Goblins waved its wooden club. Chen Mo had no chance of dodging it!

-47!

Damn it, the damage was higher than what he had imagined!

The second White Goblin followed up with an attack too. Chen Mo quickly reacted by casting the Minor Healing Spell as soon as he started to lose health, restoring fifty points to the health bar.

+50! -44!

The value indicating the damage of the second hit he received appeared. It was lower than the damage dealt by the first goblin. If Chen Mo was slightly slower at healing himself, he would be dead by now!

He’s still alive!

Chen Mo kept running. He might stand a chance against the White Goblins with the help of the obstacles outside!

However, Chen Mo soon realized that the cave was purposely designed in a way that a Level 1 Player would never make it to the exit after aggroing the White Goblins. When he was around three meters away from the exit, the two White Goblins attacked again. It was obvious that Chen Mo’s remaining HP was nowhere enough for him to take the hits. He died again

“If I can aggro them from a distance away, I might be able to make it out of the cave,” Chen Mo concluded after he revived.

He was three meters away from the exit. The aggro range of the White Goblins was only five meters. If he could aggro the White Goblins from eight meters away, there might be a chance he could reach the exit in time and figure out some way to kill the White Goblins.

Fighting the White Goblins inside the cave was clearly not going to work. He was currently Level 1, it would be impressive if he could deal thirty damage to a Level 3 monster. Besides, the White Goblins had 400 HP each. He would have to deal damage to a White Goblin for more than ten times to kill it. The time it would take for that was enough for the White Goblins to kill him multiple times. He would clearly die faster than the White Goblins without kiting them around obstacles.

“Can I hit them with a rock?” Chen Mo suddenly thought as he glanced at the rocks lying close to the wall.

If he was playing a traditional game, there was no chance an Assassin could toss a rock at a monster. However, he was not playing a traditional game, but a full-dive VRMMORPG. It felt very much like the real world!

“Haha, it worked!”

Chen Mo quickly gave it a go and was surprised to discover that he could actually toss a rock!

“But…the distance isn’t that impressive!”

However, Chen Mo quickly realized a problem.

Since he was still in a game, he could not toss the rock like he was in real life. Without a proper tossing skill, the range of his toss could only go as far as seven meters at Level 1. He was still a meter short.

“Forget it, let’s give a try!”

Overthinking it would not help at all. Chen Mo decided to put it into action.

Chen Mo went into the cave again. He was not in a rush to toss the rock at the White Goblins when he reached the end.

He suddenly had an idea when he saw the White Goblins. These goblins were not standing still in the same spot. Even though the cave was very narrow, they would still move around on patrol. If Chen Mo tossed the rock right when the goblins were moving toward the exit of the cave, even though the rock could only cover a distance of seven meters, by adding in the distance that the White Goblins covered, it would sum up to around eight meters. He would then be able to lure the White Goblins out of the cave!

Chen Mo silently waited, like a hunter waiting for his prey to walk into his trap.

Just a bit more!

There were times where it felt like the White Goblins were already in the right positions, but Chen Mo precisely calculated that the distance was still not enough!

“Now!”

The perfect moment finally arrived after Chen Mo waited patiently for some time!

A White Goblin had moved half a meter more than he had expected!

There was no way Chen Mo would give up on such a great opportunity. He quickly tossed the rock at the White Goblin!

Smack! -1!

A pitifully low number rose above the White Goblin’s head. The two White Goblins turned toward Chen Mo with wide eyes and chased after him.

Chen Mo hastily retreated. He had no clue what else he could do if he still could not make it out of the cave.

Smack! Smack!

Chen Mo took two hits from the White Goblins when he was less than ten meters away from the exit.

After the previous experience, Chen Mo would not allow the White Goblins to kill him so easily again. That being said, he was still alive because he had already used the Minor Healing Skill.

He ran as fast as he could. He finally made it out of the cave before the White Goblins caught up to him again!

However, he was bewildered as soon as he ran out of the cave.

He was not safe after leaving the cave, as they were no obstacles around to stop the goblins. The closest obstacle was around seven meters away.

One of the goblins caught up to Chen Mo first and attacked with its club. The man had no chance but to dodge it.

It was very obvious that Chen Mo was in a better spot after making it out of the cave. He basically had zero chance dodging the goblins’ attacks inside the cave.

Unfortunately, when Chen Mo dodged the attack of the first goblin, the other goblin caught up to him too.

Chen Mo had nowhere to run to as the two White Goblins cornered him. It was still a bad ending for him as he was killed by the two White Goblins before he could reach the obstacles.

The two White Goblins slowly made their way back to the cave after killing Chen Mo.

Chen Mo remained silent after he was revived.

Perhaps there was something he had not discovered around the place, and perhaps the thing was the key to taking out the White Goblins.

However, he had no idea how long it would take him to find it. Even though he was quite curious about what was inside the treasure chest in the cave, he was well aware that he did not come to play the game, but to find a loophole of the game. He could not afford to waste too much time here.

It was unlikely that the loot in the treasure chest was anything impressive. It would not be of great help in finding a loophole in the game.

It was something he had figured out from the title “Dying at the Speed of Light” he received. It only gave him a little more attributes than the other Players.

Chen Mo decided to kill himself and started over again. Perhaps he might even revive in the Rookie’s Village. Even if he came back here, he also had an idea on how to resolve the situation.

The Assassin class was not going to work, but there was a class, in particular, that might be able to kill the White Goblins in the cave, even though it might take some time!
