“Chase him!”

The moment Zhang Cuishan ran away, the monk with the khakkhara gave his order. The seven Shaolin NPCs immediately chased after Zhang Cuishan.

The negotiation setting Ye Weiming carefully created was immediately disrupted. Everyone had left; only one of the 21 players were left in the courtyard of the Escort Agency. For a period of time, the situation became very awkward.

At this moment, a skinny monk behind Strained Noodles Steamed Bun suddenly said, “Big Brother Bun, why don’t we clean these people up to prevent them from disrupting our mission in the future?”

Strained Noodles Steamed Bun turned around and looked at the person for a while. Then, he turned back and said to Ye Weiming, “Brother Weiming, I have a beginner level ‘Return Wind Sword Technique’. I’m willing to give it to you in exchange for you giving up this mission. What do you think?”

In actual fact, based on Ye Weiming’s analysis, most of them believed that the culprit most probably wasn’t Zhang Cuishan.

However, that had nothing to do with them. They only needed to help the NPCs from the Shaolin Temple capture Zhang Cuishan and they would be able to obtain their mission reward. Thus, the truth wasn’t important to them.

They wanted to clean up the Wudang disciples at the scene because they wanted to clear their opponents who had different missions from them. That way, they would have the chance to catch Zhang Cuishan along with the NPCs.

As for the difference in ability between the two parties, that was even less of a problem.

This was because in ‘Eternal Justice’, NPCs had two modes. One was their normal mode and the other was the mission mode. During mission mode, the level and various attributes of the NPCs wouldn’t be much higher than the players. However, after they died, they would revive. The items they dropped would be similar to the ones dropped by same level bosses. It was much better than the items of a normal player but they weren’t exceptional.

For instance, in normal mode, Zhang Cuishan would definitely be a level 90 ultimate boss. But today, during this mission, his level was suppressed around level 20. He was more powerful than Chou Ba but if more than 10 players cooperated with other NPCs and attacked him, they might have had a chance.

Of course, Ye Weiming wouldn’t allow them to get rid of all the Wudang disciples. Without these people restricting the Shaolin players, he didn’t think that they would continue to talk to him calmly and reasonably.

Ye Weiming smiled gently and waved his hand. “The truth still needs to be investigated. Most importantly, the punishment for failing this mission is very serious. I think that it’s better for everyone to find the truth.”

Strained Noodles Steamed Bun frowned slightly at his words. But, soon after, he laughed heartily and said, “Since Brother Weiming insists on investigating, you can continue with it. Remember to inform me if you have any clues. We can all find the truth together.” After he finished speaking, he left with the other Shaolin players.

Without Ye Weiming, they might have been able to get rid of the Wudang players just by paying a small price. But, with him around, the situation changed. Both sides were equal in strength. If they fought till life-or-death, half of their men would definitely be sacrificed. When a player died during a mission, it meant that he failed his mission. No one wanted to bear the risk, so everyone could only take a step back and continue investigating the truth just as Ye Weiming said.

After Strained Noodles Steamed Bun and the rest of the Shaolin monks left, Yin Bukui sent a friend request to Ye Weiming. He told Ye Weiming that they should find time to chat properly before instantly bringing the rest of the Wudang disciples out of Dragon Gate Escort.

Rather than saying that the mission for the players from Wudang and Shaolin was to kill their enemy, it was more appropriate to say that they had to protect the NPC on their side. Now that their NPCs were gone, naturally, they wouldn’t want to stay here any longer.

In an instant, only Ye Weiming was left in this huge Dragon Gate Escort… as well as a ground full of corpses!

He scanned all the corpses on the ground around him. Immediately, excitement appeared on his face. There was nothing to say. All he had to do was take out the grass mats and collect the corpses!

You have received ‘The Study of Fist Skills’ × 1.

You have received one Seven Star Thorn × 1.

You have received ‘The Study of Internal Energy’ × 1.

You have received Mosquito Feeler Needle × 1

You have received ‘The Study of Cookery’…

Today was indeed a day of gains!

Ye Weiming rolled up all the corpses with grass mats and kept them in his bag. The various kinds of secret scriptures that he received gave him ample motivation. He only had to stop after he continuously collected 23 corpses.

He wanted to continue but his bag was full.

The setting of the bags in ‘Eternal Justice’ was like the space ring in fantasy novels. When one threw things inside, the weight of the bag wouldn’t be affected. The difference was the fact that the space in the bag wasn’t based on an object’s weight. It was based on the number of cubicles left.

Items with similar attributes, for instance, the same pills, could be kept in the same cubicle. As for equipment and outfits, every single one of them required a box. Using the grass mats Ye Weiming used to collect corpses as an example, the maximum number of mats a cubicle could hold was 999. However, the corpses that he collected, as well as the secret scriptures he found on them, required one cubicle each.

There were only 64 cubicles in Ye Weiming’s bag. Putting aside the essential items he bought in the past, there were around 50 empty cubicles left. But, with each corpse he collected, he would need to use three cubicles. These cubicles were for the corpse, the secret scripture, as well as a small number of concealed weapons.

It was understandable that he would find concealed weapons. After all, they were stuck on the corpses. They could be used as evidence in the court too. However, why were the hidden items on the corpses all similar secret scriptures?

Were the hidden items all secret scriptures called the study of something?

Ye Weiming counted the number of items in his bag even though he was feeling puzzled. He had a total of 21 books related to the study of something. The drop rate was quite high.

In detail, they were: 6 ‘The Study of Internal Energy’, 2 ‘The Study of Sword Skills’, 3 ‘The Study of Knife Skills’, 4 ‘The Study of Fist Skill’, 2 ‘The Study of Lightness Kungfu’, 2 The Study of Staff Skills’, 1 ‘The Study of Cookery’, and 1 ‘The Study of Medical Skills’.

The first few books were all similar to the ones he found on Old Man Li and Chou Ba’s corpses. The only difference was the smaller number of proficiency it could add on. The attributes of the last two books were:

The Study of Cookery: Chief of Dragon Gate Escort, Du Dajin’s wife’s cookery diary. After using it, your cooking proficiency will increase by 400 points.

The Study of Medical Skills: The diary of Fan Jian, an escort of Dragon Gate Escort. After using it, your medical skills proficiency will increase by 86 points.

Are you able to use these two items directly?

There’s nothing much to say then. Ye Weiming pressed the ‘use’ button and immediately, two notifications were heard.

Ding! Your cooking proficiency has increased by 400 points. Your cooking skill is now level 2.

Ding! Your medical skills have increased by 86 points.

Ye Weiming flipped to the character attributes page and realized that all of a player’s living skills were lit up naturally. There were medical skills, mining, forging, planting, and many more skills. But, all of them were at level 0. He was a layman in all these areas. From the looks of it, he didn’t need to learn the living skills. He just needed to use the proficiency points to increase their levels.

Ye Weiming stopped thinking about the living skills. He went to look at the 6 ‘The Study of Internal Energy’, 2 ‘The Study of Lightness Kungfu’, and the 2 books of ‘The Study of Sword Skills’ and used them on his expiration exercise, ‘Eight Step Chasing Toad’, and ‘Sword of the Yue Maiden’ respectively. The proficiency of these three types of kungfu increased but it was not enough for him to rise a level.

Then, Ye Weiming took out ‘The Study of Knife Skills’.

This was the highest quality book out of all the books he received.

The Study of Knife Skills: The chief of Dragon Gate Escort, Du Dajin’s knife diary. It can be used on specific knife skills and can increase the proficiency of the skill by 1,600 points!

Based on the proficiency points, Du Dajin was probably more powerful than Chou Ba. Unfortunately, this book was useless to him…

Wait!

He thought of the two books he received, ‘The Study of Cookery’ and ‘The Study of Medical Skills’. A bold thought started brewing in his mind.
