Dying In Real Life Is Another Way To Play

Ye Qian, Ye Qing and Lan Ranyan regrouped at the back of their favorite pub "Latuna Elra" at the City of Magic.

"We should split up and find appropriate disguises, after that we'll take turns every 6 hours in guarding the teleporter once it's fixed to grab Zhang Shan away." Lan Ranyan said.

"Sister Lan, wouldn't the "pantheon of Gods find us since they're the system's AI and all?" asked Ye Qian.

"That wouldn't be possible... If they did, we would have died multiple times already from Atos and Reschel." Ye Qing answered.

"That's right, when we were hunted by those two before, we were able to escape after we died since they don't know where our save points are located at." Lan Ranyan followed up.

"I see, since Zhang Shan has yet to find a save point, he would still respawn back at the teleporter being a beginner and all." Ye Qian felt enlightened.

Lan Ranyan slapped Ye Qian's head at the back as she said "Idiot, I told you to understand how the game mechanics work. With this, you would be able to understand more on how to survive."

"Sorry, He! He! He, I just thought I don't have to, since both of you are always here to help me out." She answered as she stuck her toungue out to tease and annoy Lan Ranyan.

The three continued discussing a few more stuff for a while and then left on their separate ways to proceed with their plan.

Zhang Shan has been up all night for trying to find a few compatible skills that could strengthen his first gene, aside from that he also planned on the best genes that could further complement his genes, although he had been preparing for almost a year, he couldn't memorize or recall everything.

Thus, he collated all of his research to finalize all the information into a USB Storage device and then plugged it into one of the USB ports of the IFDVR capsule.

This feature would allow users to view doc.u.ments and files and review them in game via the system interface. Some players would upload music, video clips to make adventuring less boring.

Zhang Shan added in a few music from his playlist that he can use in the future, with that completed, all he needs to wait at this point is for the IFDVR capsule's countdown and light notification to turn to green, an indication that he could go back in the game.

Suddenly, he heard his smart phone ringing.

"Is this Mr. Zhang Shan?" a lady with a sweet voice asked.

"Yes, who is this?" he asked

"Good morning Mr. Zhang, I'm from the China Post Group Corporation. There is a first class pre-paid parcel here that arrived in our local center for you, you could drop by and pick it up."

"Sure where is you office located at?" He asked.

The lady gave her the address as Zhang Shan wrote it down. Afterwards, he looked at the capsule and thought that since it may take some time for him to log back in the game, he thought of picking up the parcel first. Before leaving he sent out an email deciding after which, he then left his unit.

"Sir, Zhang Shan has left his unit..." a young man seated on a white van said as he place down his binoculars.

"It's a little too early, did the diversion call in earlier?" a middle aged man inside the van said.

"No sir, it may be because of something else." the young man answered.

"In that case have someone follow him, and then you may proceed with the capsule "update"." the middle aged man ordered.

The young man tried to call someone but was surprised that he received an email, after reading through the contents, he smiled and then shook his head with a look of regret and then steeled himself as he dialled in and talked to someone before hanging up. After a while, he went out of the van. For people passing by, they would see a young man wearing a HIVE NEURAL TECH installation team uniform.

The chief inside the Van opened his laptop as he remotely disabled all CCTV's in the area. After a while he recieved a notification and clicked on the link. from there he can see a live stream of Zhang Shan from one of his subordinates.

As the young man approached Zhang Shan's unit in the apartment complex, he grabbed the door as he used a locksmiths key to unlock it. He waited for a few seconds until it was opened.

As he entered, he immediately went forward to the capsule and replaced the airconditoning filter with a "new" one and at the same time uploaded a program into the capsule with a USB device and then left Zhang Shans unit.

The whole process of coming in and out only took the young man roughly 7 minutes until he was back in the Van.

"Sir, the "update" has been completed" the young man reported. A look of melancholy can be seen in his eyes.

Once the middle aged man heard the report, he clicked on a video calling application in his laptop and after a few seconds, it connected.

"Chief Zhao, the "update" has been completed."

"Good, make sure to recover the capsule afterwards. I've already taken care of the doc.u.mentation regarding it's repossession due to a breach of contract." Chief Zhao said and he diconnected.

The middle aged man looked at the young man and said. "Next... we wait."

Far into the wilderness, a man with red skin wearing a beat up armor entered a cave. As he entered the deeper part, he kneeled to a spot next to a sleeping young woman. As he did, the woman opened its eyes slowly and looked at him with a sorrowful look.

"Nakara... etu anadel.. Eru asa radu onamartela.." he said.

The woman looked at his eyes and soothingly carresed his face and spoke."

"Arja.... nukta aver... onalik... sarada..." she weakly answered.

The man held her hand as he silently closed his eyes. Tears started to flow down as the woman also slowly closed her eyes. This man was the "doppelganger" that fought earlier with the "pantheon".

Suddenly, sounds of people came from behind. As the reddish man turned his head he saw armed men with torches and the same skin color as them.

The leader of the group shouted at the as he signaled his men with his arms to halt.

"Arja! Nakara! arakal nusada ader..." he said with a smile of malice.

When the "doppelganger" heard this he tried to grab his sword but was surprised as he found that he only had his sheath with him. With a terrified loom in his face he remembered that he had left it earlier at the City of Magic.

Seeing this the leader snickered as he signalled his men to attack.

"Rasda Anubar..." the leader said as he swayed his hands to attack.

Seeing this, the "doppelganger" knew that everything was lost. He turned his body as he tried to shield the young woman.

The deep part of the cave lit up as spells, arrows and spears flashed.

After the leader saw that their job was done he ordered his men to retreat.

Zhang Shan picked up the parcel and saw it was sent by an unknown sender, however he noticed that the packaging used was by HIVE NEURAL TECH, after he signed the recievers copy, he left the office as he went home.

As soon as Zhang Shan came back at his unit, he opened it and found a weird looking processor and a USB storage device, the letter inside the package indicated that before he gets back into the capsule, he needs to upload the program From the USB and then install the processor.

It explained that for a better gaming experience it has to be installed immediately, the letter also indicated an apology stating that the company was apologizing for sending an incomplete unit.

Seeing nothing was out of the ordinary and the letter plus the devices were legitimate, he installed and uploaded both. After installing it, he waited for a few more hours until the capsule indicated that he can log-n back into the game.

After removing his clothes, Zhang Shan lied down and initiated the log-in sequence.

"Sir, Zhang Shan has entered the capsule.." the young man said to the middle aged man after looking at his smart phone's notification.

"Prepare for capsule retrieval..." the middle aged man ordered.

After waiting a few more minutes as they tried to enter the apartment complex. An explosion sounded out and the fire alarm of the complex started ringing.

When they heard this, they tried to rush inside immediately as they saw smoke from the 2nd floor. They were surprised that a thick black smoke was already coming from Zhang Shans Room.

Instead of retreating, they waited for the police and the firemen to come in and showed their doc.u.mentations for the capsule retrieval.

After the fire settled.down and was put out. The investigation summary from the police together with the cooperation and assistance ofthe HIVE NEURAL TECH installation team had identified that the cause of fire was due to the tampering of the capsule which was done by the user after installing an illegal device which caused the capsule to emit too much oxygen and overheat creating a combustion and explosive effect.

However, what left the police and the installation team flabbergasted was there were no charred remains of the user that was found.

It took awhile until everything was concluded and the investigation continued as Zhang Shan's unit was sealed off.

The installation team where invited at the police station and where released afterwards after their lawyer came in and evidence suggest that the events was completely coincidental for them to be present at the site.
