Einder Bloodline

Chapter 14 - Poison

"Men, we're going to head back now," Robert yelled as he showed a very smug smile.

His subordinates immediately started packing up and quickly loaded themselves towards similar vehicles that Cray was encased in. Within a minute they had already gone as if they were never there in the first place.

Back at zone 3 outside the city, Stan was puffing his c.h.e.s.t as he had used a large amount of energy to escape. He had then let go of Cray's hand as he wiped his sweat off.

All of a sudden, he felt that his vision was feeling a bit dizzy, he saw that a piece of dart was actually stuck at his left triceps. He cursed in his mind because he saw Cray's figure suddenly changed shape. It began to look curvaceous as if it was a woman. I was had! The enemy had clearly seen his intentions of leaving the battle and had clearly been prepared.

Stan then took out a precious antidote that was given to him by his uncle.

He should've already been downed by the poison but his will kept him going. "It's no use! No simple antidote can cure you of the poison that I have concocted. The woman was watching Stan's desperate attempt to save his life.

She was laughing thinking that about the main ingredient that she used just for this occasion. A Thousand-year-old Dragon bell plant had been the favourite food of the Dragons, and the said plant was very poisonous to humans. The only cure would be Dragon's blood, that sacred treasure is needed for the antidote to cure the poison that she had made.

She laughed at the futility that Stan was showing, thinking, this brat would eventually die by my poison.

As Stan slowly put the mouth of the potion on his lips he had almost lost his ability to move. He was being paralyzed and he felt the need to throw up. His eyes were about to close itself never to open again. As he drank the potion he had fallen.

Natasha, still looking in delight then touched the earring that she was wearing

"Sir Robert, I have safely accomplished my mission. I'm outside the city here in the third zone." Natasha said that with her angel like voice.

"Good work Natasha! I'll send a squad to pick you up soon." Robert's voice was delighted as he then told Natasha to take the dagger that Stan was using in their fight.

After saying their goodbyes Natasha's cheeks were flushed. "Robert! I'll do anything for you! Even if you tell me to go to the deepest parts of hell! I'll do it only for you!" She then wriggled in excitement as she thought of the possible rewards that might be given to her by Robert.

"As for you." She then glared at Stan's body. She first removed Stan's black hooded robe. Surprised she looked at the unexpectedly good-looking man. "Too bad if only your face wasn't this scarred then I'd bet many ladies would line up for you."

She then searched his waist for the scabbard of the black coloured dagger. When she was about to reach it a hand suddenly stopped her as she felt that her life was in imminent danger.

"Hey missy, I'm not dead yet!" Stan's body that had already stopped breathing suddenly felt vigorous as he tackled Natasha. With his right hand he had pushed Natasha down to the floor and with his left, he took out his dagger and swiftly placed it on her neck.

"Tell me lady, where the hell did you took Cray?" Stan looked at her with his cold eyes. His dagger slowly making its way to cut her neck.

Natasha was scared witless! She had never expected that Stan would still be alive after taking her poison. "IMPOSSIBLE!"

She yelled as her face was full of unbelief. She had the confidence that he should've been dead already. She also made sure to hit the real Stan and to not mistakenly hit a clone. She was definitely dumbfounded.

"Ho-HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!" She yelled as the only thing that she was skilled in was with her potion making. She even tricked Stan into thinking that she was Cray because of the poison that she had personally made.

Stan smirked. He also thought that he would've died if not for the antidote that his uncle had given him. In fact, it wasn't an antidote at all. He was well aware that he would never be able to cure himself with poison if he does not have the correct antidote with him, he could even make it worse by drinking a wrong antidote.

What he drank was a potion to temporarily increase his powers for a half a day but would be bedridden for twenty-four hours. It was called Dragonic boost, made with dragon's blood a sacred treasure. It would even make him a so-called second life as it would heal him rapidly in face of death. In short, it would make him Invincible! But this was the only one of its kind that had been given to him by his uncle.

Going back to Cray's situation. Robert had just received Natasha's report. He then told a group of six to head over to Natasha's location and to return in haste.

He couldn't wait to report back to the emperor. This would definitely grant him big rewards, perhaps even more than what he would've got if he were to participate in the fight at the Eastern rebellion or at the Western monster outbreak.

"Easy win. Doing this once in a while is nice." He smiled as he reminisced a bit about the past.

With his position as the son of a duke then he wouldn't have to work as much as he is doing right now. The reason why he was doing these things right now was that he wanted to ascend the throne by marrying the princess. And what better way to coax the princess into marrying him other than to be her royal guard?

Or at least that's what he had planned. But the emperor had taken quite a liking to him and told him to lead the special force right under the direct command of the emperor. He wanted to decline it humbly, but his father was with him when that happened so with his father being there he had reluctantly joined.
