Einder Bloodline

Chapter 48 - Betrayal

In a certain place, a man who had a well-toned body could be seen walking on top of a field of greenery. His upper body was almost b.a.r.e but with a large strand of cloth covering it.

Every move he made was graceful and gave off an aura that would unwittingly cause people to leave their mouths wide open.

After walking a few dozen meters, he stopped upon a broken stone pillar and sat on top of it. He then called out with his deep voice, "Freya!"

Although his deep voice wasn't that loud, it had echoed through the fields and eventually died down. At that moment, a flash of a pillar of light appeared which was immediately followed by an appearance of a silhouette of a woman.

Her wonderful brown hair slowly waved as she descended from the lights above. It was unfortunate that her beauty was nearly destroyed by the scar right under her right eye.

On her right side, no arm could be seen which left her lightly worn dress fluttering into the cold air.

"Why have you come here?"

Despite her rugged appearance, she still has a very a seductive voice, simply hearing it would make a person feel addicted.

"He has come once again." The man who was previously sitting stood up. This time, his previously cold look had revealed a pitying gaze at the woman in front of her.

"How many times has it been already. He may not even be able to..."

The woman paused as she gazed at her arm which was then followed by a sigh.

"This is the fifth time."

The man replied

He then turned around and his face once again assumed his cold and emotionless look.

"Folkvanger is still ready for war, yes?"

The lady snorted at the earlier remark as if she was offended.

"I am just making sure."

The man then proceeded to walk on continuously as if the lady was not that important. After taking his fifteenth step, his figure then vanished from the thin air.

Now that the woman was left alone, her eyebrows were still tightly knitted. She then revealed a furious look as she slowly whispered under her breath.

"Volkfanger is always ready...."

After saying so the open fields suddenly started to shake. On the distance, echoes could be heard emerging from an enraged army.

"Who dares anger Lady Freya!"

Men who were wearing armour or were wielding weapons could be seen rushing from the fields towards the centre.

From the side, there was also an army of women who shouted at an even greater vigour. "I'll kill anyone who dares!"

Seeing their sudden arrival, the woman revealed a slight smile as she gazed upon the two moons that were hanging on the sky.

Meanwhile, back on the Eastern Continent, Cray had now set his sights on a large number of enemies who had prepared their siege against them.

He then gasped at the imposing aura that was being radiated by the Empire's troops. Their simple uniformity gave him a distinct feeling that made him really anxious.

His palms began to sweat as he remembered his previous encounter with the elite forces of the empire. He could've died then and there, luckily he was saved, however, that came with the cost of his father once again disappearing.

After standing still looking at the overall situation, he once again made his way following Stan.

After running for half a minute, they have reached the strategy room that was bustling out giving orders and maintaining order within the army that was fighting outside.

Despite the fact that most of the people in the command room were wearing serious faces, Ye Chen, on the other hand, was still giving out a grin. This was also the same for those four men who were sitting near him.

With this sight, Cray was completely dumbfounded. He knew that they were currently in an unfavourable situation. Yet Ye Chen was still able to smile, he simply found this to be incomprehensible.

Stan, on the other hand, was relieved to see Ye Chen. After spending some time with him he figured out how much of a calculative man Ye Chen really is. And that every time he gambles he would only grin when the situation is completely under his hands.

In other words, the moment that he saw Ye Chen grinning then everything must still be under his control. He then noticed that Cray was still confused so he directly asked Ye Chen.

"Uncle Ye, how's the current situation outside? Do you think we can still hold out?"

Stan stepped closely to whisper as he knew that this was a delicate matter, and despite the fact that Ye Chen may still have a plan he did this just in case.

Ye Chen with his lips that were slowly expanding into a large smile turned and said, "The battle is already won."

He then pointed towards one of the screens inside the room and this gesture was seen by Cray which in turn made him look at the same direction.

He was then stunned by what he saw.

The very same weapons that were used to fire against them was slowly turning and began firing at the Empire's troops.

Chaos began to unfold as Ye Chen then issued an order to engage in close combat. This was issued due to the fact that inside the Empire's troops they had planted a portion of their own men and they would be in the field of fire if they were to also begin their bombardment.

Seeing the sudden turn of events from a different position, Anastasia was finally satisfied. She licked her red and supple lips as she issued a different command to her own private army that was also hidden nearby.

She then looked at her sister as she told her gracefully, "We did not choose the short end of the stick. If the Chen Clan couldn't even fight against this, then I would've never called out to them in the first place."

She then remembered the conversation that she had last night with Ye Chen.

"According to my info, you're about to face a tough battle tomorrow." She directly went into the point as she pressed Ye Chen for his reply.

Ye Chen then smiled as he already knows this as he had his own source of spies. "Looks like somebody is anxious, I thought that you want to build a good relationship between us? It wouldn't hurt a bit to trust me you know?" He leisurely spoke as if he was simply telling a joke despite the seriousness of the conversation.

While they were talking, Ye Chen then took out his azure coloured orb and placed it on the table in front of him. "Well, since you clearly want answers then I'll clear everything up. First of all, I came here to win."

After saying this the orb then showed a face of a middle-aged man who despite having wrinkles in his face still looked elegant with his blonde hair.

"Secondly, by I, I didn't mean only with the Chen Clan." He then greeted the man on the orb, "Good evening, Lord Gatsby, or should I say good afternoon?"
