Enjoying This Generic But Wonderful World

'Strange i thought that we were going back home to watch Star Wars or that awesome anime that I saw in your memories what was the name? Hellsing?' Jack said.

"That can wait I need fresh air, too much strangeness for my brain for one day," Benjamin explained. "Also your goddamn jokes took a toll of my mental state."

There was a quick moment of silence before Jack answered, 'I regret nothing.'

"I already imagined that" Benjamin said before going to the direction of the park.

Like mentioned before, Benjamin needed fresh air. He never experience so much strangeness in his life for such a short period of time!

Not counting the time that his weird condition started manifests itself this is the craziest 2 days of his life!

Benjamin passed through the entrance of the park and he continued to walk until he finds a bench in the woods, luckily there wasn't anyone in the park; he took a seat in the bench and looked into the sky.

"So before anything can you explain me some basic things about being a Verger?"

'Oh right I forgot that you're new to this stuff!' Jack says appearing in front of him. 'It's pretty simple stuff; as you know we're bonded until you die.'

"Thanks for reminding me the reason of my future headaches."

'I'm trying to explain in here!' He says angrily. 'Anyway continuing… because that we're bonded you had your mana reserves increased exponentially, and what allows you to use my powers is your mana.'

He perked an eyebrow at that. "Wait mana reserves? I was a magician all along?"

'Everybody is a magician, the only reason that we don't see magicians 24/7 is because there is the need to unlock the mana reserves; there are countless ways to unlock your mana Reserves, making a contract with a Mythos is one of those many methods'

"I understand… so there are any consequences of overusing your powers?"

'Of course, you will feel your body numb from the neck down'

"Oh jolly" He says sarcastically. "Last question for the meantime: If I do what Matthew did, how much of my reserve I will be using?"

'If I'm correct, to activate the Verge you will use 25% of your reserves, you could use normally this mode without consequences for 6 hours… well there's another mode but-

Suddenly Benjamin hears a strange noise coming from the bushes.

'I feel a disturbance in the force.'

"Look I promise to watch Star Wars with you but shut up I need to concentrate" Benjamin says angrily while looking around.

'No I'm serious, I feel something strange lurking into the woods,' Jack says in a serious tone.

Benjamin heard a strange cracking and clacking noise coming from bushes/ He concentrates and creates two knives.

The rattling becomes more frantic and he carefully approached the bushes preparing to attack the mysterious enemy and then…

A squirrel comes out of the bushes.

"Are you serious this is the thing that i-"

"GROWWWL!!!!" Roars a dozen purple creatures jumping from the trees ready to attack the squirrel.

Luckily for Benjamin, one of the benefits of becoming a Verger is that you're quicker than normal humans so he dodged the creatures and starts slashing them.

Like expected they can't find him and are slashing the air trying to find their assailant! Benjamin proceed to eliminate the creatures.

"What the f.u.c.k were those things?!" He exclaimed.

'They were certainly monsters but I don't know what they are, I only know monster originated from England.'

"That makes sense," Benjamin says, still alert to any enemies around. "I don't think I need to activate Verge yet."

'I agree. Your curse can do the stealth work very well.'

"Alright I know this sound stupid but let's investigate the noises."

'I think they are coming from the north.'

And so Benjamin starts running towards the noise, like they expected he did't run into any of those creatures.

After running for some time, they heard other voices.

"Senpai why are there so many Pretas in one place?!" Says a brown haired boy that by his side was a… snowman?

"I don't know this number of Pretas isn't normal!" Angrily says an black haired girl who by her side was an white figure with 4 pairs of angels wings and an bow.

They were attacked by hundreds of these monsters and those two creature by their sides aren't enough to defeat them.

"Well it's time for my good deed of the day," Benjamin declares.

'So touching,' Jack mocks him.

He ignore the Serial Killer's comment and jumped in the direction of the monster and in a blink of an eye, he cut their numbers quickly eliminating every single one of them…

damn Vergers are really powerful. The two teenagers quickly are amazed by his actions.

"Are you two okay?" Benjamin asks.

"That was awesome!" The boy says dumbfounded. "How did you do that?"

"You can say that I have killer skills," Benjamin smirked.

'Hahaha I knew that I would infect you with my amazing joking skills!' Jack laughed in utter glee.

Benjamin ignore him again. "Can I ask who you people are?"

The girl steps forward, "Thank you for helping us, I'm Yulia Yamato, 3 star Hunter and this my apprentice Nate Hyoga, a 1 star Hunter."

Hunter? What is that? But that question overshadowed by the fact that he knew these people… Yet again they were student at Itsumo, Yulia was a third year and Nate was a second year from class B.

"Benjamin Williams." He says, "I'm not a Hunter."

"Uhhh interesting… are you a magician?"

"Maybe" Benjamin replied while rolling his eyes. "Hey, since I saved your lives can you explain to me what is happening?"

"There's was a summoning of a powerful monster around here and this area became his territory, we're trying to find where is the Boss," Nate explains.

"And what are these annoying creatures?"

"Pretas, they are spirits of greedy and corrupted people who went to hell, they appear in packs but I never seen so many of them in an area."

"Got it, any idea where the Boss is at?"

"Well I think that he's-"

CRACKCRACKCRACKCRACK

A Burst of dark miasma and energy exploded in the woods and from there a giant skeleton using a samurai's armor and katana appeared, he stood 3 meters tall and was cracking his bones every time he moved.

"-there," Nate finishes with his mouth wide open.

"That one giant skeleton..." Benjamin says in surprise.

"That's a Gashadokuro, a giant skeleton made from the remains of people died from hunger… He is a A-Rank Monster"

"Hey, can you help us please?" Nate begs you...
