92 Flame of Sorrow

Fear - it could destroy a person, lead to failure, or even plunge into the depths of the abysses of despair, but if one overcame one's fears a great reward could be obtained.

However, what would happen if one of the longest and strongest fears became an ally?

'That's...' Zayne muttered in disbelief, 'Right, I got another coin after defeating Hugo... hah, I didn't go there for anything.'

Zayne felt a surge of strength as the hope within him ignited a bright flame that destroyed all chains.

'There are three of us... so this coin is enough for three minutes.' Gael said calmly, looking intently at Zayne, 'However, you must make a choice.'

Step. Step. Step.

Enar approached with a complicated expression. From his perspective, Zayne was still lying on the ground, trembling with fear, but...

'Why do I feel so strange? Does this guy have some trump card? Well... I better not check it out, right?' Enar pondered as he rushed forward, quickly shortening the distance.

Behind Zayne, a flash of red flame could be seen inevitably approaching him, intent on burning him in an instant. However, all of Zayne's attention was focused on Gael.

'This time you must choose one of us. Whose strength will combine with yours to defeat Apostle?' Gael asked as he glanced at Black Wolf.

'Hah, boy, though this is the first time I've seen him, this strange man says the right things. You have to choose, but I think you know what the right decision is, don't you?' Black Wolf grinned widely as his bloody eyes narrowed.

Zayne answered nothing, he just nodded slightly and squeezed the coin which glowed brightly, releasing all the energy that was inside.

'Is that a Fate Coin?!' Enar's eyes widened, 'Shit! Did he really decide to sacrifice himself and stop me from summoning Chaos Hearth?! I can't let that happen!'

Whooooooooooooooooosh.

At Enar's next step, there was a fiery explosion that accelerated him many times over. In an instant, he reached Zayne, whose body was completely hidden in the dense blue energy that came out of the Fate Coin.

Enar's blades flashed red fire as he crossed it, about to use his skill.

'Crimson Cross...' Enar inwardly muttered.

Crackle.

Enar swung his blades, and at the same moment, a dark paw crashed down on him as he saw two red eyes through the blue stream.

'What...?' Enar's eyes went wide, then the impact tossed him aside. He flew like a projectile at tremendous speed for dozens of meters, crashing into the wall and raising a cloud of dust.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

Clearing away the debris with his hands, Enar crawled outward and looked forward as trickles of blood flowed from the corners of his mouth.

"Hah... Now it all makes sense to me... So that's why Fate turned its sight on you..." Enar muttered, staring at Zayne, then glanced at his chest which had three wide cuts on it, "Is this fight going to be interesting?"

"Agh... What a strange feeling..." Zayne muttered, exhaling the cold steam that passed over his shoulders.

With the use of Fate's Coin, his appearance underwent a major change. His black hair became longer and thicker, and his left eye changed its color from blue to red. He gained two long fangs, and his hands were transformed into paws with long, sharp claws.

"Hey, what did you do?" Enar asked with a slight smile on his face.

"What do you mean?" Zayne tilted his head in confusion.

"How did you deal with the fear? How did you overcome it? A moment ago, you were trembling like a rabbit caught by an angry wolf! I'm actually curious!" Enar exclaimed with an excited look, ignoring the blood flowing from his wounds.

Zayne's eyes went wide, "Hmm? No. I'm still terrified of you, but I just thought I'd better turn from rabbit to wolf to at least try and fight until the very end."

Enar was speechless.

"Anyway, I don't have time to talk, on all levels." Zayne glanced at the hourglass that was already almost completely filled with blood, then he stepped forward.

Whoooooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne's silhouette disappeared as the ground beneath him cracked, and a moment later he appeared before Enar. Zayne's gaze was cold, but his grin was wild as a beast's.

'Shit!' Enar quickly put out a block as Zayne's claws clashed with his blades.

"Not bad. You've gotten a lot faster and stronger." Enar smirked.

"Well, you seem to have gotten dumber." Zayne said calmly, reaching forward and thrusting his sword into Enar's belly.

Thick blood gushed out, covering the crimson blade. Zayne pulled his sword out slowly, staring into Enar's empty eyes.

"That's not all that the one who made me run in fear is capable of, is it?" Zayne asked in a deep voice.

Enar didn't answer, he didn't even look at Zayne, and it seemed that they would never meet again.

'Is it Zayne...? What has happened to him? Where did he get such power...?' Elin muttered, looking at Zayne with wide eyes, then a chill ran down her back.

Whoooooooooooooosh.

Enar's whole body burst into an unusual blue flame, and Zayne's hands were instantly covered in a thin layer of ice.

"Fine, let's fight in all seriousness." Enar's eyes grew deeper as his gaze fell on Zayne.

At the same moment, his blades glowed brightly, triggering an explosion of fire. Zayne's pupils narrowed as he got goosebumps. He quickly defended himself with his sword, but the shockwave knocked him back anyway.

Step.

Zayne did a somersault, as if repeating Enar, and landed confidently on two feet. His claws were covered in a thick layer of ice, and his cheeks were flushed from the cold.

"What the hell... Why are your flames like that now?" Zayne shuddered with a gulp.

"Well, let's just say. Before, you were fighting just a strong guy, but now... You're up against one of the Apostle. I hope you haven't forgotten. I am Enar, Flame of Sorrow. You can be proud of yourself that I had to activate my seal!" Enar exclaimed majestically as the tattoo on his neck flashed a blue light.

Woooooooooooooooosh.

Enar waved his hand, and an azure flame followed the direction of the wave, freezing everything around them and creating an icy ring-like arena.

"Since it's come to this, let's enjoy this battle properly. I don't know how you got your power, but you don't know anything about me either, so that sounds pretty fair, doesn't it?" Enar smirked as he glanced at the lava lake with a frown, "Wait... I need to get rid of this ugly heat first..."

Enar threw his blades high up, and his palms flashed with a dense blue flame. He brought them down sharply on the ground, sending a powerful stream of fire toward the lake that passed over the lava and cooled it, turning it into obsidian.

"Agh... It's much better now, isn't it?" Enar muttered with a slight smile as he turned to Zayne.

Whooooooooooooosh.

Enar bent sharply backward, letting the scarlet sword pass over him, then Zayne appeared in front of him, bringing his claws down.

"I don't have time for your chatter. I've already laid out everything I have anyway." Zayne said coldly when blue flames erupted in front of Enar's hands, turning into a barrier.

Zayne's pupils narrowed as he sharply turned and kicked, tossing Enar aside.

"Hah... Fine, I agree with you." Enar smirked, looking at the cuts on his hands.
