Chapter 34 Easy Solution

Morty heaved a sigh of relief. As he had expected, although the pea would not attack humans, it would still protect him when he was in danger.

Just now, it was the pot of pea sprouts behind him that shot out the pea to finish off the burly man. With just one blow, it pierced through his head.

From the beginning to the end, the burly man did not even have the time to resist before he died.

This time, Morty felt more confident. With such a self-defense tool, she might not be invincible, but it was more than enough to protect herself.

Turning around, Morty looked at the other two men who were filled with grief and indignation, and said coldly, “I’ll say it again. Let go of that girl and get lost!”

“Brat, you’re courting death!”

The burly man who was about to reach out and touch Rebecca’s face roared in anger. He charged forward with his sword, the blade of which glinted coldly under the sunlight. “Come back!”

The man in the lead shouted, but it was too late. The death of his companion made the man lose his mind. He rushed to Morty and without any explanation, he raised his sword above his head and slashed at Morty’s head.

“Brat, go to hell—”

BANG!

KACHA!

With a loud bang, the burly man staggered back a few steps and then sat down heavily on the ground. He gasped for breath and stared blankly at the broken sword in his hand. His face was filled with shock and confusion.

“Matthew, come back!” The man in the lead heaved a sigh of relief and called out to his companion. However, the man named Matthew did not respond at all. He sat on the ground in a daze and did not move.

“Matthew?” The man realized that something was wrong and shouted again.

This time, Matthew reacted, but he slowly fell to the ground, his body twitching unnaturally. Only then did the man see there were two bloody holes on his head, and the red and white liquid was flowing out of it.

“Matthew!”

The man’s pupils shrunk, and his gaze towards Morty became increasingly gloomy, mixed with a dense wariness.

Who was this kid? He had silently killed two of his most capable subordinates, and that kid hadn’t even moved his body.

Could it be that he was also a powerful mage?

At the thought of this, the man gritted his teeth. Although he had a crystal ball that was immune to magic, it did not mean that he could ignore all mages. There was a limit to magic immunity. Judging from Morty’s performance just now, the other party’s strength was likely to easily deal with his crystal ball, and then deal with him.

After thinking about it again and again, the man had the intention to retreat. After glaring at Morty hatefully and saying, “Better watch your back, kid.” He turned around and quickly fled, disappearing into the crowd.

Morty didn’t chase after him. The opponent’s stamina and speed far exceeded his, so it was meaningless to chase after him rashly.

Coming to Rebecca’s side and looking at her slightly pale face and the blood at the corner of her mouth, Morty’s heart ached. He couldn’t help but complain, “Didn’t we agree to gather there after buying the things? Why are you fighting with others?”

“Do you think I want to?” Rebecca felt even more aggrieved. “After I bought the things, these three ugly monsters came out of nowhere and insisted on dragging me out for a drink. They even touched me…”

As she spoke, her eyes turned red.

Morty sighed and no longer had the mood to blame her. He quickly comforted her, “Alright, alright. It’s fine now. Let’s find a place to rest first.”

“Rest?” Rebecca looked at him in confusion. “Aren’t we going back to the manor?”

“You’re already injured like this. How are you going to go back?” Morty glared at her. “It’s okay, I can use a magic broom.” Rebecca didn’t seem to want to stay in the small town and tried her best to show that she was fine.

However, after moving slightly, her face showed some pain.

Morty shook his head and ignored her. He walked towards the crowd.

The crowd seemed to be a little afraid of this young man who had killed two swordsmen so casually. Seeing him approaching, they scattered in all directions, leaving only a few old men standing where they were.

As soon as Morty approached, a white-haired old man came up to him with gratitude written all over his face. “Thank you, thank you, young man.”

“Thank me?” Morty looked confused. “Thank me for what? ”

The old man sighed and explained, “Thank you for shoveling these villains for us…” As the old man explained, Morty understood why the other party was grateful to him.

It turned out that the three burly men were famous villains in the town. They often bullied the old and young women. Almost everyone in the town hated them, but unfortunately, the three of them were too strong. No one dared to provoke them.

Now that Morty had easily killed two of them and the last one had escaped in a sorry state, the town could be peaceful for a while. The old man was naturally very grateful to him. After understanding the reason, Morty smiled and waved his hand. “Old man, you flatter me.

It’s just a personal grudge between me and him.”

Then, he changed the topic. “My friend is injured.”

The old man nodded repeatedly. “Yes, yes. I run an inn. If you don’t mind, you can come to my place to rest first.”

“Then I’ll have to trouble you.” Morty smiled politely.

Under the old man’s lead, the three of them passed through the town square and headed toward the center. Along the way, Morty noticed that people were pointing at him and whispering to each other from time to time. “Hehe, little brother, you can be considered a celebrity now.” The old man who led the way turned around and smiled. Morty smiled but did not respond. After walking for about three minutes, they stopped in front of a small two-story building. There was a broken wooden sign in front of the door, and the words “Inn” could be vaguely seen.

“This is the place.”
