Fate's Game [GL]

Chapter 22 - Children society

While Sasha and Bethea greeted the guest and be good hosts of the day, the children were in their part of the ballroom and astonished about the gigantic rabbit balloons, and sweet looking decorations and a bouncy castle.

Normally, any kind of party rich people gave had some class in it, whatever theme they choose now. However, this one Sasha arranged seemed different, it was more centered to be fun for the kids with a carousel, swings and a range of games.

Emilié had no idea how Sasha brought all this stuff in the ballroom and made her day, but he did an awesome job, she will go and have her fair share of fun now.

On the other hand, the children from good households have learned to be reserved and first and foremost congratulate the birthday kids bevor having some fun with their friends.

Even though, they were overwhelmed by the dazzling sight from the offered attractions.

Since their parents are strict when it comes to amus.e.m.e.nts and did not tolerate childish behavior in any way, even though THEY ARE CHILDREN!

With such kind of discipline they want them to grow up as highly respectable members of society and not become a second- or third-generation wastrel.

So, Valentin and Leevi were surrounded by their friends and other guests kids' who wished them a happy birthday. They didn't know who Emilié was, so no one approached her and since Valentin and Leevi talked with their friends, they forgot about her.

Not that she minded, she went and played some games minding her own business.

The kids talked about the hobbies they had picked up lately like flower arranging, horse riding or chess, their daily lessons they had to attend and which method of teaching their teachers used, what method was better or which teacher was better; talks no ordinary kids in their ages should be thinking or talking about.

While talking Valentin looked around searching for someone but she couldn't find the person she was trying to find. So she went to the tall boy next to Leevi.

He was the grandson of old Seven, Kyle Grandfield, who was two years older then Leevi, his hair was a reddish brown with piercing light brown eyes, one could already feel that this boy practiced martial arts and was honing his skills.

What was to be expected by a member of the Grandfields. His grandfather, Seath Grandfield was in his military years fighting together with Clyde Evans, so they became friends and brought their grandchildren often together, so these kids grew up close to each other.

But not Emilié, since she was never allowed to meet any outsiders, other then some servants and her doctor, who gives her regular check ups.

"Big brother Kyle" disrupted Valentin the talk between Leevi and him. "Do you know where Chrissy is? I searched for her but I couldn't find her."

Kyle's face slightly flushed red by Valentin's approach. "Hmm.. Christine? She is at home. Aunty said she had gotten a sudden fever this morning so she couldn't come. The weather is chilly after all, if you're not carefull you'll get ill too." He said with concern.

Christine or in short Chrissy, was the cousin of Kyle. Chrissy's father, is his father's younger brother, so Kyle knew what was going on in their household.

"What she is sick and that today!" She exclaimed. "Ohh man, 'sigh' and I wanted to have some fun with her." She muttered silently while giving a glance at Emilié.

Noticing her glance, Kyle followed her sight and saw a cute black haired girl in a white dress with a fluffy bunny tail.

He became curious. Who was she? He doesn't remember having ever seen her. "Who is that? I don't think I ever saw her around. Someone's child who newly climbed the ladder? Or why else don't I know a cute girl like her." He asked.

"C-Cute!" Valentin stuttered. How could her big brother Kyle take a fancy on that idiot and call her cute. She had to clear off big brother Kyle's misunderstanding. "Hmph! Cute? Not at all! She is just a fool who brings bad luck everywhere she goes."

"Valentin, that is not nice to say about someone you don't know yet." Kyle reprimanded her at the bad conduct Valentin gives off.

If it was someone else who did that, Valentin would have snapped at that person, but since it was her big brother Kyle she didn't take it much to heart. He always spoiled her, she knows he doesn't mean it and only says it as a show, as her elder brother.

"Don't know her! Big brother Kyle that's my useless younger sister Emilié." She talked in a louder voice for all the kids around her to hear. "Who doesn't know, she is a fool who can't even say a word and brings everwhere she goes misfortune. It is even told that a man servant broke his leg because of her."

Exclamations from the kids surrounding them came, they were shocked, how a cute girl could be so bad. They initially noticed her too and wanted to approach her later on, but now they'd rather keep a distance.

"What! Such a cute face would do something so malicious!?" exclaimed a boy.

"I knew it! She already looked like an evil girl." said a jealous girl, who thought Emiliélooked better than her.

And an overprotective brother took his sister by the hand and stood in front of her as if he is her guard dog. "I will remember to stay away from her. Tiffany you too don't go near her either, we don't want to play with bad girls."

"Valentin! Stop it, that's mean!" Leevi tells her off. "Stop talking bad about our sister on our birthday!"

"What! It's not like I'm lying." Valentin grumbled.

"Ughh..still, stop it." Leevi was slightly speechless cause Valentin was right. Indeed someone broke his leg because he was pushed down the stairs.

But, Valentin was lying, it was not Emilié who pushed him down and let him break his leg, it was Valentin herself.

At that time, Valentin was angry at the man servant for being a bit tardy and pushed him down the stairs when he showed her his back and conveniently, Emilié was some steps behind her and she could pin everything on her.

Even when Emilié tried to convey that it wasn't her, no one believed her, not even the man servant who was the one pushed and most have known it was Valentin and not her. Alas, she was pinned down with another misbehaviour and some stories that showed what a bad seed she was.

Meanwhile, Emilié played enough and sat at a table, enjoying some snacks and watching the children badmouth her.

She was at the start a bit uncomfortable as an a.d.u.l.t in soul and body of a child, to be in a group of snotty kids; who mimicked the same bearing their parents had, which according to her opinion looked hilarious.

Milk Buns who played grown ups! Even though they're not out the phase, of crapping in their pants and peeing on their beds.

Just thinking about that she has to chuckle.

Yep, today's a fun day!

But since Valentin destroyed every chance for her to interact normally with them, she didn't care anymore about that and looked forward to what she is going to play later on with. The bouncy castle looked really fun so she'd gonna try that later.

Afterall, if she already had a small body she'd use it to the fullest extent. As kids they should enjoy themselves while they can and Emilié used up all this opportunity, she was in a kids body, so she will do stuff 'normal' kidos would do.

Finished charging up energy she went for a round in the bouncy castle.

Leevi feeling bad for having talked behind Emilié's back, decided to take his friends to the bouncy castle too and playing together with Emilié. He introduced his friends to her and let her officially debut in their children society.

Seeing Leevi still interacting with Emilié, Valentin pouted her mouth. How could she have such unsensible goody two-shoes in her family.

She put herself up in a bad light to drown Emilié in the spittle of the other children, but she wasn't satisfied at all she wanted more. She wanted to see Emilié's face distorted in pain, she wanted some kind of reaction from the cool headed girl.

Once Leevi leaves her side, she will catch this little rat called sister and teach her a lesson.

Truly, Bethea wasn't a good influence on Valentin, her malice rubbed off on her child pretty badly.

Valentin's heart was quite twisted for her age, overflowing with a jealousy, that even she herself couldn't describe.

She had everything she wanted, so what was the problem with her and Emilié?
