Fate's Game [GL]

Chapter 6 - The true fool in the house

Back in the dining room.

Emilié was trying to leave the dining room before someone took notice of her, when the confused Leevi's gaze landed on her.

"Oh, right! This year rather then me and Valentin choosing this birthday parties theme, Emilié could deceide! I never saw her choosing the theme, so why not let her do it?"

Excited from his brilliant idea, Leevi turned his head with a big smile to Emilié, waiting to be praised by her for his ingenuity.

Emilié shocked at what Leevi said stood stiffly at one spot. What a cute fool his older brother was to bring her into such a difficult situation.

Emilié choosing the theme!

Let us not even speak about it, that Emilié is not allowed to attend the birthday party.

What a funny thing for Leevi to say.

Everyone on the dining table stopped eating and looked at Leevi with wide eyes, about this stupid idea of his to involve Emilié.

Valentin was annoyed by his brother, but she knew best that her mother and grandparents would never allow it, so she sat quietly in her seat and waited for a show to unfold.

And as she predicted Mrs.Evans wasn't fond of the idea at all. "Leevie my sweetheart, how did you come with that idea? This is an important event in your life. How can you just give your priveledge to someone else?"

Hearing this Emilié's small hand curled into fists and her heart was hurting with a squeezing pain and again she was reminded how unwanted she was in this family.

What should she do to make them love her? Talk? Act smart and portraying herself as a genius; and that was what she is not? Were this even real love that they would give her then? No! It would be fake! They would only love her because they would take some benefit from it; real Love meant they would have accepted her no matter how she was.

The attention and warmth she could get, the save embrace, the c.a.r.e.s.sing touches, the worry if something happened to her; Emilié went deeper and deeper in that area and the memories of her past mother bubbled up.

Those beatiful memories of her mom. How much she longed to run to her and take her warm embrace, smell the familiar fragnance she emitted, and let her mind go wander away in the silence between them. But this was no longer possible. Both of them were dead and separated by dimensions.

Tears began to well up, when Emilié was shuck off her depressiv mood by Leevi's sweet and lisps voice, what reminded her again someone cared for her.

"But grandmother, is it not right for Emilié to decide how her own birthday party should be? And why is it that Emilié is always missing when we blow candles and eat cake, it is an important event in her life too or is it not? You guys are so mean for always ignoring her."

Being speechless by his grandson's smart counter attack, Mrs.Evans shifted her eyes to Bethea signaling her to talk some sense into her son.

Naturally that was an uneeded move from Mrs.Evans, than when Bethea heard what Leevi said she became so angry at him that she began to scold him with a loud voice, which even scared Valentin, "Enough Leevi! She will not attend and she will not involve herself in anyway in this matter, do you understand me!"

Valentin's smirk on her face vanished and her back straightened up a bit more than it already was, she really had never thought that her mother would react so extremely.

Bethea finally lost her patience with this soft spoken child and slightly resented him for iron not becoming steel. How could he not understand that Emilié should not be seen by outsiders, least something happened with her bad feng shui. The last thing they needed is more people gossiping about their family. And with the involvement of Emilié, their public face was involved.

Leevi was told often that Emilié was not allowed to attend any social functions; but that child never took mind to it and ignored all the warnings. Now he had to deal with the consequences of defying his mother's words.

Leevi flinched and his eyes filled with tears, this soft hearted child truly didn't understand why everyone was so mean to Emilié, it even made his mother be angry at him. She would always pamper him, give him sweets and read books to him, but this is the first time she was so mad at him that he got scolded. It made his little heart hurt and his tears stream down.

"My dear sweetheart, no need to cry.", Mrs.Evans took Leevi in her embrace comforting this bundle of crying mess to the best way she could, but not forgetting to give one unsatisfied glare to Bethea.

Her wish was it to let Leevi understand that his idea was bad and not to make him break down in tears, watering the imaginary plants in the dining room.

Mr.Evans seeing all this ongoing childish drama began to frown. He was not liking the friendly attitude of Leevi's to the imbecile Emilié.

He was about to break the weird atmosphere of a sobbing mess and comforting mumble with his last decision, when the door to the dining room opened and a blond man with gentle and dependable aura came in.

It was precisely the rarely seen Sasha, who came early to see his family.

"I'm back home."
