Fate's Reversal: The Divines Return

For now, in World's Destiny, Treasure C.h.e.s.t ranks included: Common, Uncommon, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Violet Gold, Platinum, Epic, and Legendary. In each Treasure C.h.e.s.t, you can get equipment or items up to the same rank as the c.h.e.s.t.

Starting from the Uncommon Treasure C.h.e.s.t, Kaiden opened them one by one, receiving amazing loot especially from the Silver.

The Uncommon Treasure C.h.e.s.t yielded an Lv.4 Uncommon Staff, Increasing a decent amount of Intelligence and Spirit and 25 Coppers. The Bronze Treasure C.h.e.s.t yielded an Lv.3 Bronze Plate Pauldrons with a hefty increase to defensive stats, Lv.3 Uncommon Cloth Pants increasing a decent amount of Intelligence and Spirit and 60 Coppers.

The Silver Treasure C.h.e.s.t however revealed a Silver glinting Shield, a pale purple Skill Book & an obscure looking scroll.

[Overlord Shield] (Silver)

Lv.4 Shield

Defense +25, Block Chance: +12%

Endurance +8, Vitality +5, Strength +4

Equipment Skill (Protective Rebound): Absorbs 50% of the damage received from an attack and returns it back at the target.

Durability 50/50, Requirement Warrior, 10 Strength.

[Sword Wave - Dispersion] (Special) – Level 1/10. Gathering force in your body sends out 5 sword lights successively. Deals 125% of Attack Power in a 4x4-meter area and each successive strike increases by 25% until 225%. Cooldown: 30 seconds. Skill Proficiency: (0/1,000) Requirement: Lv.3 Warrior.

[Guild Creation Scroll] (Special) -

'Instead of taking the Guild Creation quest at Lv.20 costing an enormous fee. This scroll grants you the ability to directly create and register a Guild at any Adventurer Guild Hall enabling you to buy a Guild Residence territory at the fraction of the cost.'

Kaiden began screaming in an incomprehensible manner as Hollow guffawed at him, unable to get his thoughts in order. After the episode of foolishness, Kaiden passed the shield and pauldrons to Hollow who stood there, frozen.

"AoE skill! I want to try it out, I want to try it out!" screamed Kaiden as he repeated himself out of sheer excitement.'

"Kaiden! From now on you keep all the extra loot except defensive skills and equipment. I will take this shield as my share cause these stats are just insane! Also, here's the 2 Silver I have." Finally said Hollow after much difficulty.

Kaiden had another thought in mind though brought about by his business experience memories, "Sounds good, but instead let's take this in another route and think about our future. What would you think about creating a professional guild and becoming the main tank?" Meanwhile, his thoughts were erratic.

'I could sell this to one of those famous guilds giving them an edge and charge an astronomical price buying a GRVI Pod right at that moment, however, that's just immediate gains. That's limited thinking. In essence, I need to always keep the long-term benefits in mind from now on also. Therefore, creating a guild early will yield the best results possible!'

Looking intrigued by the idea Hollow responded "That sounds good, but I saw on the main forum that guilds are only available after 20 and takes Gold not Silver to make"

"It does, however, if we sign a contract right now binding us. I'll show you some in my inventory.", added Kaiden in which Hollow nodded to.

Waving his hand and designing a makeshift contract to bind the pair, sending it over to Hollow after.

1. In the not so distant future, Unsheathed will create a guild in which you will have been bestowed a vital role. Assume the role of Main Tank as well as Captain of the Core Members, contributing to the rapid growth of the guild.

2. You will be given rewards accordingly as well as a salary. However, during the infancy stages of the guild's construction, your payment will be in arrears until the guild thrives to the point of profitability. After which you will be paid the lump sum and updated to "payment in advance."

3. Founding core member awarded: 2% share in the guild & Starting monthly salary: $2,000.

4. This contract carries the weight of a non-disclosure agreement, hence, any matters pertaining to the existence and stability of the guild are to be protected in both real life and in-game. If not, permanent actions will be dealt with by <World's Destiny> legal system on both fronts.

5. Like being rewarded, if you breach the contract you will be held liable in the sense that your pay and any rewards received from the start, will need to be paid back 10-fold.]

Looking at the contents of the contract Hollow was shocked by the business jargon articulated and in-depth future planning presented by the contract.

"Wow, Kaiden when the hell did you get so well versed in this? But I accept. Let's climb to the top together", said Hollow as he accepted the contract and held out his hand for a fist bump.

Fist bumping a system sound went off.

"Hollow, call me Key from now when it's just us grinding as you're now my guild brother! No need for such distance.", said Kaiden.

Nodding Hollow said, "Then call me Arty haha."

Pulling out the Guild Creation Scroll, he showed Hollow which made him laugh uproariously.

"You lucker dog! My god. We will rule everything soon enough.", joked Hollow.

"Let's get back to murdering those Lv.6 Normal Golems, draw as many as you can Hollow. I want to test how much damage this skill really deals.", said Kaiden ready for battle.

Dashing off Hollow ending up aggroing over 10 Stone Golems, running directly after him. Dropping his stance reaching his left arm around his body with the sword resting after his right side, Kaiden closes his eyes emptying his mind and focusing on himself.

Opening his with a fierce gaze, Kaiden waited until Hollow passed his swinging his sword powerfully sending 5 sword winds, Sword Wave – Dispersion.

All the Golems in the skill's vicinity disappeared, breaking out into pixel dropping bronze coins and materials everywhere which left Kaiden and Hollow staring at each in glee and a hint of disbelief while their characters radiated a golden l.u.s.ter.

"Yes! Look at that Arty, I can't believe this skill is so potent! We are on the road to mad leveling from now on as long as our gear keeps up." exclaimed Kaiden as system alerts rang constantly like alarm bells.

[System: Over-leveled Kill. Level difference: 3. 55% experience bonus applied. Lv.6 Stone Golem (Normal). 110 Experience gained.', repeated itself exactly 18 times, theoretically increasing Kaiden's experience by 1,980. Resting at Lv.4(610/7,000).]

"Holy mother, my god! Key, you're our new monster lawnmower." Hollow boisterously expressed.

Assigning the 5 points of his previous rewards into Strength, just for this specific level, Kaiden switched his stat allocation to Strength 4: Agility 2: Dexterity 2, increasing them to 40, 24 & 29, respectively.

"Try to aggro all the monsters left in about 30 seconds so we can clear this leveling area, we have been here long enough I think.", instructed Kaiden.

30 seconds later, Kaiden readied himself as his skill's cooldown period ended. Getting into stance, in a fleeting moment numerous particles filled the area as Sword Wave – Dispersion cleanly eliminated. Reveling in the bliss caused by massive amounts of experience and system notifications, Kaiden picked up the scattered loot which shockingly was only materials and currency.

[System: …200 Experience gained.], repeated 17 times.

"No skill books or equipment, I guess even the system thinks you killed them too effortlessly. What a shame but the experience is amazing.", teased Hollow as he equipped the Overlord Shield after leveling up.

Looking at the newly outfitted Shield on Hollow, Kaiden nods, "Rather than running for our lives, let's go bully Bouldris and see how he likes it."

Embarking on a journey back in the general direction of Bouldris, after running for 3 minutes they eventually reached the location of Bouldris' activity.

Testing the waters, Hollow executes an abrupt charge on Bouldris only dealing -18 damage and stunning for 0.5 seconds. Grumbling, Kaiden launches Sword Wave – Dispersion followed by Charging Slash which just made him slightly more agitated.

-58, -69, -80, -92, -101, -94. Unfortunately, 1 second later Bouldris recovered 20 Health.

Lv.8 Bouldris (Named Special Elite)

Health: 1456/1950 (75%)

"Damn, what kind of defense does this thing have? We are supposed to be bullying it but yet and still my highest damaging skills could just barely shave off 25% of its Health… Arty his defense just makes you look like a baby! Oh my god, this crap also recovers!?", complained Kaiden as he executed now fluid combos on Bouldris keeping it stunned with Charge for another .5 seconds.

-38, -35, -87, -50, -51

Executing his Double Slash after Charge connected, Kaiden began to grit his teeth realizing something that may transform this encounter into a nightmare.

"Crap! I think his defense is increasing. My strikes are now only down to 40% of my attack power.", w.h.i.n.ed Kaiden.

"I think it's defense is approaching twice that one mine, god damn!" added Hollow as they got ready with Bouldris recovering."

As they fought Kaiden actively heightened his focus, draining himself quicker than usual, however, it was much needed. With Bouldris smashing a fist down a -48 appeared over Hollow's head who HP was over 500 at this point and Defense breaching the 100. 10 hits, that is all Hollow could handle before they perished.

"Look's like we are in a situation where we finally have to use our loaves of bread.", stated Kaiden.

[Bread] (Consumable) – Recovers 50 Health, over a 5 second period. Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Picking up the pace as Hollow's health drained continuously. Kaiden began incorporating Grip Switch into every basic which started to brutally impact his Concentration.

-33, -35, -31, -38 (Thrust),

As the war of attrition waged on between the pair and Bouldris using every skill once they recovered from cooldown. A few minutes later, things got exponentially worse for the pair as for every 10% lost after 70% Health their attack damage decreased by 10%.

3 minutes later, Bouldris' fists gleamed with a red glint and it used an [Explosive Smash], with Hollow raising his shield defending. However, in that instant.

'BOOOM!'

A thunderous echo was heard as the ground under Hollow's feet was sunken in, a huge damage value of -115 appeared over his head, making him instantly eat a Bread.

"!!", Kaiden dashed up performing a basic thrust, aiming for what would be the throat on a human's anatomy. Drawing back, he executed a grip switched double slash dealing 97 damage c.u.mulatively. He held up his sword blocking a hit from Bouldris losing 76 Health.

Lv.8 Bouldris (Named Special Elite)

Health: 283/1950 (15%)

Kaiden's Health: 82/305 & Hollow's Health: 210/530

Kaiden began experiencing a faint splitting headache his original senses becoming somewhat dull, which at this moment was good because his movements experienced a subtle but apparent change. The dull dormant senses that were advanced beyond his years were undergoing an unconscious temporary awakening.

Tightening his grip on his sword, Kaiden executed a triple-slash that landed on different areas on Bouldris, its 2 armpits, and rock navel. Before Bouldris next smash connected, Kaiden rotated his sword parrying the strike guiding it to the ground directly next to him. Kicking off the golem's hand, Kaiden delivered 2 lightning quick thrust into the eyes of Bouldris.

-48! -48! 'GRAHHHH' those two strikes resulted in 2 critical hits and resulted in Bouldris entering a Berserk state.

Entering this state, Bouldris' body swelled to 2.5 meters, as it smashed its hand into the ground spraying rocks of varying sizes forward in a 180⁰ range. Remarkably, a mindboggling situation took place after. Kaiden began minimally reflecting singular rocks and circularly deflecting groups proceed by minute shifts in between the one's in which he couldn't deflect, receiving 0 damage.

Hollow was dumbfounded at the movements Kaiden was performing, inspired by the ongoing actions Hollow took this as indirect teaching, muttering, "I have to learn this type of control. I should train with Key to see how he does it."

Dashing in, performing a second, accelerated movement Kaiden ducked dodging Bouldris' berserk swing before launching an upward thrust piercing under its chin.

A critical followed lowering Bouldris' health to 8%, but Kaiden's movement was from finished. Turning his sword to a backhanded grip, Kaiden spun slicing at its torso, holding the sword closer to himself using the centripetal force he performed a second acceleration directly following the blade's path almost instantly.

At this point, Sword Wave – Dispersion came off cooldown. Backing away slightly, Kaiden launched the skill claiming the last bit of Bouldris' health, dropping his sword and falling on his back panting heavily with crimson eyes.

1 system alert and 2 system notifications sounded out.

[System Alert: Brain wave activity frequency is reaching critical levels. Cease action or force Log-Out will commence in 15 seconds.]

[System: Over- Leveled Kill. Level difference: 4. 85% experience bonus applied. Lv.8 Bouldris (Named Special Elite) slain. 2,268 Experience gained.]

[System: Announce your feat to the Pendragon Kingdom area? Yes or No]

Regaining an iota of Concentration, Kaiden replied, "Yes."

Congratulations to the team of users: Unsheathed and Hollow Stance for defeating the Stone Plains Lv.8 Bouldris (Named Special Elite). Rewarding 2,500 Experience, 5 Attribute Points, 2 Silver, and 20 Reputation.]

Usually, per different regions of a Leveling Field, only 2 or 3 Named Special Elites, 2 Champions & 1 Boss existed, so killing them result in kingdom announcements at the least in addition to extra rewards. In addition, unknown to them, this announcement caused an uproar throughout the Pendragon Kingdom area.

Leveling up from the generous experience. Allocating his usual 4: 3: 1 stat combination, saving the 5 attribute points for special situations. Kaiden sat up after Hollow gathered the loot: 3 equipment, and a skill book. 2 pieces were armor, one an Lv.5 Silver Light Armor Top adding 15 Defense, 12 Strength, 9 Agility, and 5 Dexterity. The other was Lv.5 Silver Plate shoes increasing Hollow's defensive stats tremendously again.

[Chantar's Blessing] (Special Active) – Level 1/10. Party buff skill increases the party's damage and attack speed by 20%. Consumes 50 Mana. Duration: 1 minute. Cooldown: 150 seconds. Skill Proficiency (0/1,000). Requirement: Lv.10 Priest.

[Tempest Blade] (Gold)

Equipment Skill (Tempest Endowment) – Increases attack and movement speed kill by 20%. Duration: 30 seconds. Cooldown: 2 minutes.

Durability 50/50, Requirement: Warrior Class, 25 Strength.

"Those movements were ridiculous Key! You must teach me to control my body and fight innovatively like that. Those dodging techniques…and angles inducing criticals despite our low rates!" pleaded Hollow.

"Sure, we can train together, and honestly those movements are so taxing I'm not even sure how I executed them.", chuckled Key.

Equipping their new gear, Kaiden, and Hollow now both Lv.5, were faced with the urge to head towards the village to resituate these inventories' offloading unneeded things and picking up survival needs. Enacting their plans the two head back towards the village running shoulder to shoulder.

Amid their running, the pair engage in conversation to further develop a suitable plan for their leveling.

"After gathering our necessities, let's head over to the Lv.5 Condemned Cave Team Dungeon.", voiced Kaiden as the distance to the village was continuously shortened.

"Yeah, furthermore I saw it had two difficulties: Normal & Hard. Let's go clear both of them before leaving for another leveling area.", included Hollow.

"Perfect. But I swear if Hard Mode has a boss that poses to be more difficult than Bouldris, seppuku will be my best friend.", quipped Kaiden.

Roaring in laughter, the smart idiot overlooked one thing. Bouldris was only a Named Special Elite and not even in the Boss category yet.

As the sky turned a slight shade dimmer, the two arrived at the village noticing a groundbreaking change in the few hours they were gone.
