Fate's Reversal: The Divines Return

Chapter 80 - Unsettled Presences

Sprawled upon his bed, Kaiden felt unusually exhausted. Perhaps the passing of Kairo weighed heavier on his mind than he thought. The guidance offered by Kairo provided him with a sense of fulfillment from a grandparent type figure—something he lacked. Unfortunately, when he was three, on an international trip his grandparents perished.

The plane's machinery malfunctioned causing a fiery crash to ensue. In that crash, both his maternal and paternal grandparents perished. Due to the long relationship between Michael and Christine, their parents grew to enjoy each other's company. However, that friendly relationship grew to be the catalyst of pain.

Holding his hand to the ceiling, Kaiden sighed morosely as he clenched his hand. Although feeling melancholic, his gaze remained firm.

"I promise I will reach for the stars, in both this world and the next." vowed Kaiden. Closing his eyes, his holographic watch buzzed in which he answered.

"Hello, this is the "Blitz Craft Renovation". We have received your inquiry for renovation. I'm calling for confirmation of our services and an overview of the extent of the renovation."

"Correct, I have filed for renovation."

"Okay, let me just confirm the status of the project. It is an 89-floor high rise building, correct?"

"That is correct." replied Kaiden.

"Secondly, excluding the lobby, you want the bottom 11 floors to be lounge areas of various degrees? Shall we go with the extensive lounge incorporating recuperative equipment, i.e., Sonic Massage Chair, Stimulant Bath, and such?

"Yes, you may incorporate those."

These were equipment meant to remedy the Delayed Onset Hyper Muscle Soreness (DOHMS) caused by this day and age of training. Furthermore, they served to enhance the mental state and rid the mind of mental fatigue through the state of serene relaxation. However, this version of the technology wasn't the state of the art counterpart yet. It would be too costly at this moment to outfit the entire building with state of the art equipment.

Instead, Kaiden would rely on rest and VitaShakes to compensate for the missing overextensive recuperation for his members.

"Next, I see you want training equipment placed between floors 12 to 52. Additionally, you have requested the state of the art training facilities. That will be costly. These 40 floors alone will probably amount to upwards of $18.6 million. Is that price acceptable to you?"

"Yes, money isn't an issue. Just pay extra attention to make sure the equipment is optimal." replied Kaiden.

"Noted. At this moment, the renovation will run you approximately $26.37 million at this point. However, we still need to attend to the floors 52-77 which will be individual living quarters, if I am correct?

"Correct, based on the space of the floors. It should be able to house 35-40 rooms comfortably there." estimated Kaiden.

"Yes, excluding height, with each floor from 1 to 77 being slightly over 33,000 sq ft you should be able to fit forty 735 sq ft rooms comfortably when factoring in hallway space."

"Excellent." exclaimed Kaiden.

"Next, floor 78 is a complete conference floor featuring one grand meeting room and a small version."

"Yes, don't forget a large holoprojector along with auditorium-style seating in the grand scale room. The other, you can simply design with the customary meeting room atmosphere."

"Alright and lastly the top floors 79-88 will be the exclusive residential floors with only 10 rooms per level. 3 rooms on floor 87 and 1 room on floor 88? Overall, with your ideas that are well thought out, if I may add—the total is approximately $43.84 million." .

"This total is acceptable, should you run into any mishaps or obstacles you can call me. How long is the estimation before completion?" added Kaiden.

"Well seeing as this is a renovation exceeding the worth of $10 million as well as the size of the edifice, the entire staff will be utilized. So, with this scale...I estimate 5-6 weeks."

"Okay, you may forward the documents for me to sign." said Kaiden as the call ended, another weight was lifted from his mind.

Now that his renovation service had been confirmed, he was reaching the finishing point of his to-do list.

Pulling up the HARDIC main page, he scrolled throughout the page. At a certain point, he had to validate his age and identity. Only then did the screen expand to the purchase page of the HARDIC exclusive products. Wincing, Kaiden couldn't get past the price of these consumables.

Excluding the trivial prices of Grade 1-4, starting from Grade 5 the price rose exponentially from $200 → $2,000. However, the increase from Grade 6 was even steeper—$2,000 → $10,000. Shaking his head, one could never get used to the financial sink called VitaShakes.

"Luckily, I still rely on Grade 5. Until my income increases exponentially I won't even think about checking Grade 7. Not to mention, I can't view Grade 8 and higher without reputable credentials."

Of course, due to that feature, there were often black market sales for these types of items. It was mostly for those who didn't have viable identities or deemed a significant threat to the stability of the world. However, the prices were inflated to varying extremes from as low as 125% to 300%.

Ordering a cooling chamber to hold his stock of VitaShakes, Kaiden spent $236,000 on the chamber and 115 Grade 5 VitaShakes.

Exiting his room, he knocked on Zeek's door. Opening, Kaiden explained to Ezekiel about his order of VitaShakes as well as the secret building coming up.

"You...WHAT?!"

"Shhh, it's a surprise for Mom and Dad. The building is under renovation. We'll be moving there as well as the guild." chuckled Kaiden.

"Oh, that sounds fun. Perhaps I will halt my next degree then. If you're this established within weeks, the opportunities are endless! Oh yeah, I'm not sure about this but when I returned to the game after my Cellular Phenomenon, it felt...weird."

"What do you mean? Explain the feeling."

"Well, it feels as if there is dyssynchrony between my mind and body. Like there's a delay between my reaction occuring and then the movement of my virtual body. Also, when thinking I also find myself thinking more than one thing simultaneously."

'Hmm...I know what he's experiencing.'

"That the initial increase in your neural capacity. The synchronization rate of the AVICH isn't high enough to sustain you. You need a GRVIP. I'll order you one. It'll be express so stay out of the game to receive it." instructed Kaiden.

Following through with those actions, Kaiden sauntered into his room as he retired to his bed; he was in need of a break. As such, closing his eyes Kaiden fell into a deep sleep. While doing so, subtle changes began happening to him that he was unaware of.

….

"Where are Vivienne and the rest?" inquired an older male whose body carried copious amounts of wrinkles. However, his aged eyes carried power and well as wisdom. Moreover, although his appearance carried the aged feel—his physique was monstrous; this fellow was well beyond 100 years old, yet his vitality still seemed vibrant.

"Commander Graham, we were unable to reach Ms.Hall or Mr.Byrd; the Guild Leader of Sanguine Shadows will be here momentarily." immediately replied his ȧssistant.

"Hmm, it seems Vivienne and Victor are once again busy. I guess they simply want to deal with this old man then. Perhaps my presence is waning and they dare to disregard my gathering order."

Although all of the Commander and higher ranked positions in the stood on a level completely eclipse the level of a piddling Tyrant—the Guild Leader of the Deity Pavilion was an enigma. There existed no one in the room who could counteract his pressure.

Twitching his finger, the pressure alleviated. However, his commanding voice spoke once again but these words shook the room.

"It is time we venture into the game and claim order as well as many other things. We who govern need not start at the same level as others. Within 1 month, I want results. Additionally, Colossal Asylum…"

"Here sir." responded the Guild Leader of Colossal Asylum, Andre Potter.

"Instruct your subordinates; they no longer need to exercise restraints. Everything has been situated in place, beginning tomorrow start quelling the progress of that insignificant headache. Meeting adjourned. Return to your countries and enter the game." commanded Xavier as he rose.

Taking one step, his body as well as presence vanished. It was unknown what he was headed to do; however, the aftermath of this grand move was bound to be substantial. That's right, for these slightly more than 2 weeks, the leaders of the Eight Insurmountable Titans themselves had yet to enter the game.

This was perhaps the sole reason Kaiden was able to snag his achievements. Their calculations were for one of their higher rank subordinates to clear certain achievements. Furthermore, those subordinates were instructed to use the names of their Titan leader.

An unsettling wave was bound to wash over the world of Sanctoria. Furthermore, because each of these Titans resided in a different continent, they would be landing inside opposing Kingdoms. This will be a sight to see.

Startled, Victor, and Vivienne trembled. They hadn't noticed a presence crept into their room. Rather, even as the person stood there they were unable to sense him.

"You two, how many times do I have to instruct you not to miss my conference commands?"

"Commander! It is my mistake!" exclaimed Victor who was also the Guild Leader of the Doomsday Dominion. Moreover, he was also the single most Guild Leader capable of withstanding Xavier's presence the longest.

"Your words are meaningless. I seek your actions fortifying your intentions!"

Raising his hands, Xavier punished both Vivienne and Victory. However, unable to scream they gritted their teeth as they felt someone was crushing their bodies. Clenching his hands, the pressure around them tightened.

"Don't let this happen again should there be even worse consequences." sternly spoke Xavier as he disappeared.

With his disappearance so did his pressure. Gasping, Vivienne, and Victor turned toward each other.

"Tch...this is your fault, you unsightly man. Now look what I had to go through." said Vivienne as she rolled her eyes.

"WHAT?! You are the one who coerced me to come here." growled Victor.

"Hmph, I still blame you. Stop spouting your drivel."

….

Opening his eyes, Kaiden was awoken by the buzz of his hollow watch. It was a new day and his preset alarm rang. Sitting up groggily, Kaiden rubbed his eyes as he sauntered into the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror, he felt like a new man. Additionally, his body felt phenomenal. The effects of his overactive brain were slightly yet continuously altering the state of his body.

Ingesting a Grade 5 VitaShake, he refilled the contents of his GRVIP followed by the login process of his GRVIP. As he felt rejuvenated—it was time he started finishing up his tasks.

….

Spawning into the Master Suite, Kaiden stretched as his armor once again equipped his body. Walking downstairs, loud grunts of exertion was heard as he turned his head. As it was reaching the end of night time in the game, the majority of the main physical members were training with each other.

In contrast, the magical members practiced spell casting and Intact lead them. Now that he was equipped with a GRVIP, his spellcasting speed rose a great margin. The efficiency of his spells rose to the top tier of the guild. The Cellular Phenomenon accentuated his natural talent which in turn bolstered his ability.

"Key! Are you busy? If not come practice with us! I need help. I can't get the timing of those techniques properly when alone." exclaimed Hollow.

Rubbing his chin, Kaiden nodded as he walked over.

"What techniques is it you are trying to use?" inquired Kaiden.

"These!! …"
