For a Prosperous World

Chapter 478 Letting Go Can Detach, But Someone Always Holds It

Chapter 478 Letting Go Can Detach, But Someone Always Holds It
When the next day dawned, when the two were about to leave, Xuanzang was still sitting by the fire, and he still hadn't come up with an answer. For the next few days, he seemed to be thinking about this question from time to time along the way, thinking about it while sitting under a tree, thinking about it while walking on the road, thinking about it when crossing the river, and thinking about it when climbing the mountain.

He always has special attachments in some places, and those who are persistent can be said to be a little stupid.

It's like Gu Nan said that she could use lightness kung fu to take him out of the customs directly, and in less than a day, he could walk a road that he couldn't finish in more than ten days, but he shook his head and refused, saying that he wanted to walk.

There should be no difference between the two, but since he didn't want to, Gu Nan didn't mention it again.

It should be seven days later, the two passed by a field.

Gu Nan walked in front to help Xuanzang carry the luggage, while Xuanzang walked behind.

The road this way is not easy to walk, not to mention that Xuanzang's body is weaker than that of ordinary villagers. He has been exhausted for a long time after climbing mountains and ridges, and he always needs to take a rest after walking for a long time.

But he still didn't say anything, and walked step by step, as if he was doing some solemn ceremony, every step must be solemnly stepped on.

Apart from helping him carry his luggage, Gu Nan has nothing else to do. Xuanzang’s luggage is not heavy, and she has seen everything in it, except for a few robes, some water and a wooden fish. put.

Gu Nan even once laughed at him, saying that none of his monks carried scriptures with him.

At that time Xuanzang said calmly, and the little monk took it with him, pointed to his chest and said, all of them are here, there are quite a few books.

There is a lot of mud in the field, and the mud sticks to the shoes, making people's steps sink a little.

Xuanzang stopped and took a breath, he had been walking for almost a whole day, and indeed he could not move anymore.

Sighing, he said to Gu Nan in front of him.

"Sir, let's take a break."

Gu Nan turned her head to look at him, and seeing his sloppy footsteps, she shook her head. I really don't know what this monk is thinking. With this appearance, he dares to go out of the pass to the west alone, and he is not afraid of going nowhere. back.

She accompanied Xuanzang to a rock, and the two sat on the rock to rest.

Xuanzang sat cross-legged, clasped his hands in front of his body, and closed his eyes.

Gu Nan knew that he was probably in samadhi again, and boredly took out a fruit from his bosom, and took a bite.

The two of them ate this food these days, and it didn't taste very good to be honest. As soon as the fruit is bitten, it becomes a piece of sour juice, and the pulp is also very green, and it tastes strange.

But it's good to have something to eat in this kind of wild land, and there's no way to be so picky, not to mention that the sour fruit is also good to quench your thirst.

While Gu Nan was eating the fruit, Xuanzang opened his eyes, sat on the rock, and looked at the seemingly boundless weeds in the field. The weeds swayed, and the sky was in the distance.

He looked at Gu Nan silently, and said, "Benefactor, you asked the little monk a few days ago, sorry for the shallowness of the monk's practice, so it is difficult to answer."

"Then there's no need to explain it." Gu Nan said casually, anyway, for her, these things have become a habit.

"However." Xuanzang lowered his head, clasped his hands together and said, "My little monk is willing to chant scriptures every day from now on, so as to free the benefactor from the evil of killing."

Afterwards, he asked: "I don't know the benefactor, how can I kill him?"

Gu Nan bit the fruit and glanced at Xuanzang, just in time to see Xuanzang looking at her too.

The monk's eyes were as clean as a pool of clear water, he could see directly to the bottom of the pool without any distraction, he really was devoted to the Buddha.

"Crack." Gu Nan bit off a piece of fruit and chewed it in his mouth, and said lightly.

"Can not remember."

Xuanzang was silent for a while, then nodded and said, "Then, use Wuji as a record."

After all, he was sitting on a stone and began to read scriptures.

"Om Bandra Sattva Sama Ya Manubara Ah Panza Satva Dinuopa..."

(From the phonetic notation of Vajrasattva Baiziming)

Xuanzang, just like his previous obsession, began to recite sutras for Gu Nan, recited during rest, while traveling, before meals, and even before going to bed.

Gu Nan didn't think he was bothering him any more, and would listen quietly every time he chanted sutras.

"Swish."

It was just dawn, and the faint light of the sky passed through the leaves, and shone in pieces in this small forest.

When Xuanzang woke up, he found that it was already raining lightly.

He was sitting under a tree, the raindrops fell from the leaves and fell on his shoulders and face, bringing some coolness. The cassock on his body was already half wet.

He didn't get up to find a place to shelter from the rain, but just sat there with his eyes closed.

Suddenly, he felt that the raindrops on his body had decreased a lot, and he raised his head to look suspiciously.

It was Gu Nan who was sitting among the branches of the tree, holding a large leaf in his hand, covering the top of his head and blocking the rain.

Xuanzang raised his head, looked at the people on the tree, and smiled slightly.

"Silly monk, what are you doing sitting under the tree and giggling without taking shelter from the rain?" Gu Nan said while sitting on the tree.

Xuanzang didn't answer, just laughed.

In the woods, the sound of the rain was thin and dense, and the raindrops knocked off the leaves on the trees, causing the leaves to fall in the rain.

Xuanzang lowered his head slowly, and said with a gentle smile.

"Almsgiver, you and Buddhism should be predestined, how about I give you a dharma name?"

"Oh?" On the branch of the tree, Gu Nan shook her feet lightly, leaned against the tree and held up a leaf and asked, "What's the name? If it sounds good, I can accept it."

"Why not." Xuanzang clasped his hands together, "It's better to call him Wukong."

Wukong, the meaning of Buddhism is that it is clear that all things are born from the combination of causes, illusory and unreal, and change and perish impermanently.

It also means that if you understand the world, you will realize nothing, don't be attached to joy and anger, don't be attached to sorrow and joy, don't be attached to birth and old age, don't be attached to sickness and death, and be detached.

The rain is like a layer of tulle gently covering the mountains and forests, making the mountains and forests a little more empty and clear.

One or two birdsong echoes, it is the emptiness in the forest, the emptiness in the mountains, but what Gu Nan can't understand the most is the emptiness.

Gu Nan sat on the tree, the scenery she saw was always different from Xuanzang sitting under the tree.

The mountain forest she saw was a cluster of trees, covered with greenery on the top of the trees, moving with the wind, stretching far away, gradually blurred in the mist in the rain.

"Benefactor." Xuanzang's voice woke Gu Nan up, and he asked, "Do you still think it sounds good?"

Gu Nan smiled a little: "It's quite nice."

Xuanzang smiled and closed his eyes again. Amid the sound of the rain, he recited the scriptures again. He recited the scriptures used to wipe away the murderous evil on Gu Nan's body.

On the tree, Gu Nan listened word by word.

Maybe she can be detached by letting go, but she just can't let go of those past events that have passed away.
