GAME DEVELOPER SYSTEM

28 28 - A Rank D Player Confirmed!

"Professor, tell me, how can I do this?!"

"Create a new dimension!" Mr. Brown said excitedly.

"Create a new dimension?!" Gabe was confused.

"Yes! Haha, don't be so surprised. In fact, this is a concept that was defined at least 10 years ago in the Game Development industry, but so far no one has managed to put this 100% into practice. There are always some problems that prevent it from working properly, but with your thought process, I believe it will be possible.

"Don't worry, I'm also part of the research group on the development of different dimensions within the same Seed and I have some privileged knowledge. When you have time, come over to Harrington University and meet me in my office. I can show you the results of our research to help you out.

"The only thing I ask of you is that if you succeed, share your results with me, as this will be a great advance for the Game Development community around the world!"

Hearing the so excited tone of Mr. Brown, Gabe also felt his blood boil and agreed without a second thought. With the results of Mr. Brown, Gabe could begin to develop his Seed in ways he had never thought possible in the past.

After hanging up the phone, Gabe felt that just sitting back and watching Residual Devil's numbers go up was too boring, so he logged into the Seed again and started developing more Chapters for the game. As he intended to make the chapters longer, Gabe was willing to spend 10,000 Mana Units to make Chapter 03, making that Chapter alone twice as long as Chapter 02.

Most of the Players weren't even halfway through Chapter 02 yet, and only the Peak Rank F and Rank E Players had already finished, so Gabe wasn't in such a rush to release Chapter 03, but he still intended to get it done as soon as possible. By sticking to a release schedule of 1 Chapter a week, Gabe could release Chapters often enough for him to have something to work on every day, while Players would have new in-game updates every week.

Games weren't like Webnovels where the reader would be satisfied with 1 chapter every day, as the entertainment of a chapter only lasted between 5 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the chapter and the reading speed of the reader. Games were different and often offered at least 4 hours of gameplay per chapter. Not only could Players play for 4 hours, they could also play the game again on different difficulties or even go back and complete new challenges, which increased the average play time to at least 6 hours for a common Player and up to 10 hours for a Hardcore Player.

"There are still 5 more days until next Sunday. If I spend my 300 Mana every day to develop the game, it will be 1.5k Mana Units, in which case I would only need to use 8.5k more Mana Units from the game's Mana Pool. Or if I increase my maximum Mana, I can lower my spending even more and increase my income," Gabe thought as he planned his routine.

With that decided, Gabe committed to using another 10k Mana Units to increase his Mana Pool to 400 Max Mana Units.

With that, in 5 days he could use 2k Mana Units, and if he got even more Mana in the game, it could increase his Mana Pool even more during that time and increase even more the economy he would have available for the game.

"Alright, time to work…" Gabe said with a smile on his face as he felt his body's Mana increasing. After calculating the speed at which the game was yielding Mana for him, perhaps even before the last Chapter of the game was released he would have already become a Developer Rank E!

"I did it!" Caitlyn squealed excitedly as she looked at the livestream camera smiling!

Right now she wasn't playing Residual Devil, although, even though she wasn't playing Residual Devil, what she was doing was still related to the game, as she was using a skill she tried to learn in the game: upgrading weapons in real life!

In the last 2 days since the release of Chapter 02 of Residual Devil, many players were shocked by the upgrades that Duke could make on weapons. Among these surprised players there were some High Rank E players and even a Rank D Player who decided to delve deeper into this knowledge and farm a lot of money in the game to study the weapon upgrade that Duke was doing. To make the Players even more shocked, the D Rank Player who played for 30 hours in the last two days got a lot of money and let Duke upgrade his weapons repeatedly.

Seeing the amount of money this Player was offering, Duke was very helpful and even answered some questions about upgrading weapons, making the Player even more shocked by the knowledge of this NPC. Watching everything Duke was doing in front of him, despite being very sleepy, the Player was still very focused on Duke's teachings and when Duke finished upgrading all the weapons the Player had, the Player wondered if maybe he could do it in real life too!

So to test his theory, the Player took a decorative pistol he had at home, a custom Desert Eagle with gold lines that he had bought when he was a Rank E Player. This Desert Eagle was just an ordinary weapon, not even a magic weapon, but when the Player started to upgrade the weapon like Duke had done, the upgrade worked perfectly! His Desert Eagle, which before was just a weapon that could deal damage to F Rank monsters, after the Player's tests could now deal damage to Low Rank E monsters!! And that was factoring in that this Player wasn't even confident in his upgrade and missed some details during the process, but still, the smile on this Player's face was huge.

Within minutes of testing this, the Player posted on the Sandstone Bay Players forum.

[I have great news!

Hello brothers, I'm Lieutenant Smith.

I was transferred to Sandstone Bay a few months ago and since I didn't know anyone in the city, I started watching some livestreams of Players trying out games developed by Developers here out of curiosity.

Honestly, in the beginning most of the games were very similar to the games that Developers from Rosewood made (the town where I come from) but as you all know, Residual Devil completely changed my perception of what games are.

Although it's only a Rank F game, even I, a Rank D Player, was very interested in this.

The improvement the game has had on me hasn't been all that great, as my points in the marksmanship test program are already over 1.4k, but the game is still a fantastic experience.

As you may know, recently there was a rumor that it might be possible to upgrade common weapons with in-game knowledge to make those weapons deal damage to Rank E monsters, and brothers, I have to admit this Developer EA is truly the greatest genius I've ever seen!

After playing for 30 hours to get enough money for Duke to upgrade all my weapons, plus watching Duke upgrade those weapons for another 4 hours or so and trying to use what I saw in the game to upgrade my decorative weapon at home, I can finally confirm, it is possible to upgrade real-life weapons with the knowledge learned in the game!

This type of upgrade made to weapons uses the Player's Mana to change some of the internal functions of the weapon, just as blacksmiths replicate magic weapons, which will make the weapon able to deal more damage, reload faster, or even hit more targets from further away, among other upgrades that the game has but I haven't had access to yet. But unlike magic weapons, this upgrade is simpler and easier to accomplish, since the materials used in the weapons I upgraded were just common materials.

Apparently each weapon can have a unique feature in the game, and that's what made me even more fascinated about it all! EA, if you are reading this, I, Lieutenant Smith, 2nd Battalion Sandstone Bay, thank you. This knowledge, which could earn you thousands of dollars, has been shared with all of Sandstone Bay Players at no cost!

After my report reached my superior, he was also delighted with this discovery and already created a research unit to learn these upgrades, so even F Rank Players will be able to have their weapons upgraded, greatly increasing the survival rate of Players in Sandstone Bay!

I don't know how a genius' head works to plan something so amazing like that for low Rank Players, but I have to thank you EA; you saved thousands of lives with that gesture!]

This post that came from a new account on the Players forum in Sandstone Bay in a few minutes already had hundreds of likes, and in just 30 minutes it had already reached 5,000 likes and 3,000 comments!

Sandstone Bay Players were shocked by this discovery. They already imagined that this would be possible, but seeing a Rank D Player confirming this removed the last doubt from the hearts of these Players and made the Sandstone Bay website receive a huge amount of requests for Mana Rank F stones. If E-Rank Mana Stones could be used on F-Rank Seeds, even these stones would get a lot of requests from wealthy Players, but since they couldn't, only F-Rank Stones had their stocks emptied in just one afternoon.

Caitlyn, who had already received the 10 Mana Stones she ordered two days ago, now had a huge smile upon reading this confirmation on the forum. She hadn't used her Mana Stones yet, only planning to use them to extract an already upgraded weapon, but a doubt arose.

'Wouldn't it be better if I used these Mana Stones to learn how to Upgrade weapons like this Rank D Player did? If I learn to do this, I can not only have an upgraded weapon, but also several weapons…' Caitlyn thought a little worriedly. 'Although the cost of learning this might be high, if I learn it maybe I can offer upgrades to other Players and earn money from it!! Damn… the blacksmiths must be crazy about this discovery!'

Blacksmiths were responsible for making magic weapons for Players who didn't have enough Mana to extract weapons from games. Even though the Blacksmiths' weapons weren't as good as the weapons that Players drew from the games, as the Developers had a lot more Mana to work with than they did, the Blacksmiths' weapons were still very popular.

Now, with the knowledge that they could learn to upgrade firearms, the blacksmiths also heard about it and immediately downloaded Residual Devil. Be they F-Rank, E-Rank or even D-Rank blacksmiths, all of them wanted to learn this new knowledge.

Deciding that she would go that route, as it would possibly return her more profit in the long run, Amoura spent her Mana Stones to be able to play Residual Devil for a long time and get a lot of money.

With that, she repeated the process of watching Duke while studying the upgrade he made, then replicated this on her in-game weapons, as this wasn't as expensive as testing in real life - plus in-game she could use Mana Stones gain make more attempts, something that the Rank D Player hadn't needed because he already had a lot of Mana.

After several hours, Caitlyn was finally able to upgrade a weapon on her livestream with thousands of people watching her do it!

"I did it!" Caitlyn squealed excitedly as she looked at the livestream camera smiling!
