Gifted

Once everyone from the rescue team crossed the portal that Miayaka made, they got into formation immediately.

Everyone was silent and stood ready under the tense atmosphere, that almost felt like the calm before the storm.

It was not long before the storm came, when Jae's eyes glowed, blood red.

"Everybody get ready! I can sense Master Scott's guild approaching, 3 kilometres from where we stand" Jae announced, promoting everybody to brace themselves for what's to come.

Pan stood at the very back of the group, with eyes close, as she focused herself and concentrate all her energy in the center of her belly.

When Jae and the rest got a glimpse of their vivacious comrade, an excited grin shone on their faces. Pan is known to be the life of their Guild. She always brings smile to everyone through her bright smile and personality, so seeing her abrupt change, made everyone excited on what she got in store for everyone.

"Everybody get ready, here they come!" Jae announced when he took sight of Arthur emerging from the forest; getting everybody's attention back on their mission.

Upon hearing Jae's signal, Pan's eyes flew wide open, as she pulled something out of her bag, Dora.

Suddenly, an army of Pan's clones started emerging out of nowhere. Some wearing medical scrubs, while some wore medical lab coats over their professional attires, and some even wore EMT uniforms. Stretchers and medical kits were all present, completing Pan's vision for the prefect medical movie scene.

"And Action!" Pan shouted, as she now wore a medical coat and a pair of thin framed glasses, while her hair is not tightly pulled into a bun.

The moment Pan shouted action, all of her clones started bracing themselves for the incoming wave of patients.

"All right ladies! We just got report that multiple victims of a Shadow attack will be coming in shortly. I don't have to remind you of what your jobs are, so do your best, all of you." Pan spoke with so much authority, like she was a completely different person.

"Dr. Ahn would you like to add a few words?" Pan asked Jae, when she turned at him.

It never fails to amaze Jae, whenever he gets the chance to see Pan's Gift in action. It is such a mystery to him, how such a young lady is capable of something that most people cannot comprehend. Although, being a smart and knowledgeable guy himself, Jae still cannot fathom the extent of Pan's capabilities as the concept of her Gift is so abstract to him. But what he did understand is that Pan is bottomless pit of potential, just like her bag Dora.

Jae remembered Isabelle stating that, Pan's Gift is a manifestation of her strong d.e.s.i.r.e to be an actor, just like her parents. Being able to create different worlds and "scenes", where she can act to her heart's content. Isabelle said that Pan's Gift revolves around people that believes and "acts" with her. She gets stronger, the more people believes and "acts" with her. In turn the people that believes and "acts" with her also gets strengthen.

Although it might look and sound crazy, Jae undoubtedly believes in Pan.

"Alright ladies, do your best to save lives today" Jae said in encouragement, as he stood tall in front of the army of medical personnel, with an air of authority.

"YES SIR!" Pan's medical army responded with determined voices.

Jae was just playing the part, but the moment that he did, he felt power suddenly coarse through his body. He felt refreshed, strengthened and revitalized.

"Alright ladies, here they come, get to work!" Pan commanded with firm and loud voice.

Arthur immediately spotted his best friend, Jae, the moment he saw the group of people in the distance.

"Lady Maria must've sent them to aid us!" Arthur thought, as relief started to swell in his once panicked and troubled heart.

Arthur didn't expect much, as he was just as thankful no matter how many members Lady Maria sent. What he didn't expect to see was the army of pinked haired girls, standing behind Jae. As they got closer and closer, Arthur noticed that each and everyone in the army looked exactly the same, but with different hair styles.

Pan's medical army started going through the injured ones first, by putting them into stretchers and doing giving them first aid, before carrying the injured through the portals that Miayaka has opened.

"This one is in critical condition! He has lost to much blood from the deep lacerations on his torso, causing a respiratory arrest!" One of the clones reported, as a group of clones approaches her. The clone that made the report has already done a skillful job of initiating an emergency intubation on the patient. The Gifted was immediately placed into a stretcher and was carried off to one of Miayaka's portals, leading to the guild mansion.

"Miss Sharon, we need some assistance here!" One of the clones shouted

Sharon immediately ran to the clone that asked for assistance, only for her to almost puke her guts out when she saw a young man laying on the ground, who looked burned to a crisp. The young man kept groaning and crying out in pain, as the clones tried their best to be gentle, while tending to the his wounds.

"The patient is suffering from third degree burns and is in constant excruciating pain. His wound has already been too infected, that it might cause a shock any minute now" The clone explained the situation. As pus started oozing out of the patient's wounds.

"We need to take him to the OR as soon as possible, but would you be able to erase his pain, as it would be more helpful for the patient's body, if we don't inject to much chemicals in his body."

"Alright!" Sharon nodded; Taking a deep breath before holding the patient's hand.

The effects was immediate, as the gifted's cries slowly calmed down.

"Alright, let's rush him to OR immediately!" The clone instructed with great urgency.

"It's taking too long!" One clone said, before pulling out their portable defibrillator. Nodding at another clone, while the clone holding the defibrillator shouted "CLEAR!".

Arthur stood in awe of the events that's happening around him. It gave him a nostalgic feel, bringing him back to the time when he worked along side his best friend in an organized chaos environment, known as the ER.

"Brings back memories, doesn't it?" A familiar voice said, which snapped Arthur out from his tranced state.

Arthur turned to the source of the voice and was greeted by a small smile from Jae.

"How is this possible?" Arthur asked, still in disbelief

"That young lady over there, is making this all possible" Jae said in a proud manner, as he gestured towards Pan, who looked cool as a cuc.u.mber while issuing orders all over the place.

"We'll talk more later, but right now let me take a look at the one you're carrying"

"Right" Arthur nodded, when he remembered Trace's condition.

Arthur gently laid Trace on the ground, with the help of Jae.

"Don't worry about this one, I'll take care of him. Go and check on you other guildmates' situation" Jae said, giving Arthur a reassuring smile.

Arthur, no doubt trusts Jae with his life, so he believed in his words. Arthur gave Jae a grateful nod before checking on his guildmates.

As he was checking on them one by one, he noticed something weird. The injured Gifted that Halberd was carrying, was now being carried by a different guildmate, while Halberd is nowhere to be seen.

"Why are you carrying Haseo? Where's Halberd?" Arthur asked the Gifted that was carrying Haseo.

"He went back for Gabe." Haseo answered guiltily, even before his guildmate could open his mouth.

"WHAT?!" Arthur roared in anger, as veins started popping out off his neck and forehead. His voice was so loud that it gained everyone's attention.

"Why didn't you stop him?!" Arthur roared once again, making Haseo flinch in fear.

"I tried to, but I couldn't" Haseo answered with a small voice, as his head hanged low, in fear.

"You, why didn't you stop him?" Arthur then turned to the one carrying Haseo, who was the most clueless out of all of them.

"I-I-.. Halberd said that i-it was your order, sir" The Gifted answered with shaky voice, fear evident from it.

"This no time to fight amongst ourselves. The best thing we can do right now, is to locate their whereabouts, as soon as possible." Jae said with a stern voice.

After a couple of second of silence, Haseo spoke.

"I know where he is" Haseo kept his voice low, as he summoned a device on his hand, before passing it to Arthur.

Arthur took the device and saw a map of their location, with a red blinking dot on it.

"I placed a tracking device on Halber's back, before we part ways. The blinking of the dot is Halberd's heartbeat. If the blinking stops, that means he's no longer alive." Haseo explained.

Arthur did a double take on the device to make sure that he wasn't seeing things and that the red dot was still blinking. Small relief washed over him, when he saw that the dot was still blinking, but the blinking was gradually slowing down.

"He's still alive, we can still save him" Jae said in encouragement.

"Dr. Ahn, everyone has been taken care off and has been brought to the Guild mansion safely. 8 are still in critical condition, but we did our best in stabilizing them for the time being. The rest are just minor injuries." Pan reported in detail.

"Good job!" Jae nodded in approval

But then a loud menacing roar thundered across the forest once again, gaining everyone's attention.

"It's an alpha" Jae said with dire voice, as he quickly determined the Shadow's kind.

"An Alpha?" Arthur asked, as if he didn't hear Jae the first time. His voice was filled with dread as he did so.

Jae only nodded with a grim expression on his face. An Alpha Shadow is a hundred times more powerful than of a Shadow whose still in the Beta stage. So it was no wonder, Jae felt worried, since he himself had trouble killing one before.

"What is our next coarse of action, Sir?" Pan asked, snapping Jae back from his thoughts.

Yes, Jae had a hard time kill one Alpha Shadow before, since he did it all by himself. Now he has companions with him, that he can trust. People might think that he's being reckless by sending in Gifteds that are still "green" to battle with a humongous threat, but Jae has watched how each and everyone has progressed and the incredible growth that they've accomplished in such a short amount of time. So, to say the least, Jae is quite confident in his companion's abilities.

"Everyone gather round!" Jae called everyone of his Guildmates.

Pan, Shiro, Apollo and Sharon swiftly gathered around Jae and Miayaka. Sharon was able to leave the third degree patient, since he has been stabilized at the moment. Shiro and Apollo was just awaiting for a new order, like Pan, since everything has been settle with the injured, for the time being.

"Everyone, great job thus far!" Jae said with a proud tone as he commend his companions, before continuing "But the mission is still not over yet. Our next rescue mission is going to be a very dangerous one. But I'm confident that we can pull it off." Then he proceeded to brief them of the situation and what the general plan was. "I trust that you guys will be level headed and won't do something that's far from your own capabilities. No one dies here, understand!"

"Yes, Sir!" His team responded in unison.

"If so, then let's begin" Jae said with a commanding voice.

"Alright ladies! We're changing scenes; we're going to war!" Pan shouted with valor.

Her army of doctors and nurses, suddenly transformed into an army of soldiers, wearing pink military camouflage combat uniforms and holding a variety of fire arms. The army of pink raised their fire arms high in the air, while they roared a battle cry in unison.

Uncontrolled grins shone in Pan's guildmates' faces, feeling recharged and encouraged, just by witnessing the scene in front of them.

Once Miayka opened a portal, everyone in Lady Maria charged forth fearlessly, leaving a still dazed Arthur behind. Although, Jae has promised him that they will save his guildmates; there is still a lingering doubt floating in his heart, even if he trusts Jae fully. Arthur just hoped and prayed that, Jae and his companions will succeed. Arthur was the last one to pass through the still open portal, heading to Lady Maria's guild, before it fully closed.

"Target eliminated! I repeat, target eliminated! It's showtime ladies! Advance! Go! Go! Go!" Pan shouted with authority.

Pan's army of soldiers skillfully maneuvered themselves through the woods, like they have already been into this kinds of war multiple times already.

Shiro kept fading in and out from one tree branch to another tree branch, while Apollo charged in, leaving a neon trail behind him. Sharon stayed at the back with Jae and Miayaka, ready to provided support whenever it's needed.

Pan approached Gabe and stopped right in front of him.

"Don't worry, the cavalry's here!" Pan said with a beaming smile, while giving Gabe an adorable wink, leaving the Gifted gaping at her.
