Granting You A Second Life

Li Yu Yan and Li Na were sitting in conference room A.

Li Na: "Jie. That trash human is making us wait on purpose! It's already been one hour and there's no sign of her!"

Li Yu Yan face was expressionless but inside she was burning with fury. How could she be made to wait by her own lackey?

Li Yu Yan: "Xiuying might have had to deal with an urgent medical matter."

Li Na: "Jie you have too much faith in Li Xiuying. Shouldn't she have sent someone to inform us if that was the case? Also since being in this room no one has even acknowledged us. We haven't even been offered a glass of water!"

Li Yu Yan gently said: "Let's go and look for Xiuying. I hope nothing serious has happened."

Li Yu Yan and Li Na left the room. They immediately bumped into a staff member in the hallway.

Li Yu Yan: "Excuse me. Could you tell me where Dr. Li Xiuying's office is please?"

Staff Member: "I'm not too sure I'm sorry, this is my 3rd day working here. If you follow me I can ask my manager?"

Li Yu Yan: "Thank you."

The trio started making their way down the hallway.

Staff member: "Were you supposed to have a meeting with Dr. Li?"

Li Na snapped: "Is that any of your business?"

The staff member didn't say anything further and they walked in silence.

The staff member saw her manager come out of her office: "Manager Tao!"

Manager Tao turned around: "Oh it's you Yang Far. Is everything okay?"

Yang Far: "Manager Tao, these two women were looking for Dr. Li's office. I wasn't sure where it was."

Manager Tao: "May I ask who you both are?"

Li Na was about to start shouting when Li Yu Yan stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder.

Li Yu Yan: "Dr. Li is my little sister. We were waiting for her in conference room A for the past hour and we got worried that something might have happened."

Manager Tao: "Oh your Dr. Li's family members? Why were you waiting in conference room A? Dr. Li is currently in conference room D. Yang Far could you take them there please?" With that said he turned around and left.

Yang Far led the duo back in the direction they came from.

Yang Far: "This is conference room D. If you just give me a moment I'll announce..."

Li Na didn't wait for Yang Far to continue she flung the door to the room open with all her strength and stood in the doorway with her hands on her lips.

Li Na's cheeks heated up as she looked at all the people in the room, none of which were Li Xiuying.

One of the doctors spoke: "Who are you? Why are you making a scene? We're currently in the middle of a meeting."

Li Na mouth opened and closed like a fish. She was unable to say a word due to shock and embarrassment.

Yang Far side stepped Li Na to grab the door handle: "I'm very sorry for the disturbance. We were looking for Dr. Li."

One of the secretaries: "Dr. Li was kind enough to swap rooms with us because we needed more space. She's in a meeting room down stairs. Walk towards the private suites but don't enter that area. You'll see a small hallway a few feet before the entrance of the private rooms. The meeting room is on the first left. If you'll excuse us we have to continue our meeting."

Yang Far: "Thank you. I apologize again for the interruption." She started closing the door. Li Na finally snapped out of her stupor when she realized the door was about to hit her.

Li Na clenched her fists and ground her teeth. She had a murderous look in her eyes. It was all Li Xiuying's fault!!!

Li Yu Yan pursed her lips and didn't say a word. She had hidden outside and away from the prying eyes of the people in the meeting. She didn't want to be associated with such an embarrassing spectacle.

Yang Far: "I'll take you to the meeting room."

Yang Far was so embarrassed by what Li Na had done. She started wishing she had never met these two people.

Yang Far managed to locate the meeting room. She knocked on the door and waited for a response. This time Li Na didn't rush in to the room all guns blazing.

Li Xiuying: "Come in."

Yang Far opened the door. "Hello Dr.Li?"

Li Xiuying nodded.

Yang Far opened the door fully and stepped into the room: "Dr. Li your family members are here to see you."

Li Yu Yan and Li Na entered the room. Yang Far left the room closing the door behind her.

Li Xiuying's eyes danced with mirth as she looked at the faces of her two cousins. Li Na was barely in control of her emotions and Li Yu Yan face looked strained from having to maintain a gentle appearance. This was exactly what Li Xiuying wanted.

While Li Xiuying was assessing them, Li Yu Yan and Li Na were also silently assessing the woman before them. Li Xiuying was reclining back in a chair with a teacup in her hand. She was wearing a forest green cashmere jumper with sleek black trousers paired with strappy black chunky heels. Her makeup was immaculate and made her skin glow and her hair was styled in gentle waves.

Li Yu Yan was probably the most surprised on seeing Li Xiuying's appearance. She had never seen Li Xiuying look so good before. Li Xiuying had never cared for maintain her appearance. She wore the same three outfits and never even wore Chap Stick let alone a full face of makeup.

Li Na who was also gazing at Li Xiuying looked away and noticed the other two elderly men in the room. One of them had a mask over which covered the lower half of his face. She only spared them a glance before her eyes flicked to the tea cups and tea pot on the table along with an assortment of expensive looking pastries and fruit. Li Na scowled she wasn't even given a glass of water and here this waste was being given the five star treatment.

Li Na turned her murderous gaze back to Li Xiuying. She saw a small smirk appear on Li Xiuying lips. This was all it took for her to erupt.

Li Na screamed: "Li Xiuying! You infuriatingly wretched s.l.u.t!!!! How dare you treat us like this?! You made us wait for over an hour in conference room A and then caused us to get humiliated in conference room D! Why didn't you think of us at all? You should have dropped everything and come to see us right away. You made us traipse around the hospital like we were playing some childish game of hide and seek! And for what? So you could entertain these two elderly men? What are they your sugar daddies? Did you forget about your family because these two old men called you out?! You're meant to be a doctor but here you are getting paid for 'extra service'. Do you have no shame?!"

Li Xiuying had an indifferent expression as she elegantly sipped her tea. The eyes of the two men were burning with fury and indignation. They were disgusted by Li Na's words.

Li Yu Yan addressed Li Na: "Li Na I know you're upset due to the treatment we have suffered at the hands of little sister's lack of consideration but you shouldn't say such words to little sister. She may have forgotten our family ties but we mustn't forget our blood ties."

Li Yu Yan looked at Li Xiuying with teary eyes. "Little sister, I have missed you."
