Thursday Afternoon - Canteen Unity Hospital

Li Xiuying was currently sitting at her regular table waiting for Yao Changying to come to lunch. They usually claimed a table near the largest windows. Li Xiuying always tried to have lunch with Yao Changying, it was the second favorite part of her work day.

Her favorite part of the day was when she was operating. Her life had changed so much in the space of a week. Although Li Xiuying took all these changes in her stride and all the changes were necessary and altered her life for the better it didn't mean that they weren't overwhelming. Being in the operating theater had brought her solace in the past life and it did the same in this life.

Operating was an important part of Li Xiuying's life but now it wasn't the only part of her life. In fact for the last few days Li Xiuying felt that she had the perfect work life balance. She didn't feel lethargic and overworked. She had friends and her life was filled with laughter and people who liked her for who she was. She appreciated every peaceful day she was granted because she had a feeling that they would become scarce in the future.

Li Xiuying was currently looking at some articles on her tablet. She was doing some research for a systematic review she was planning to write.

Li Xiuying's phone started ringing on the table.

Li Xiuying: "Hello"

Shen Xiaosi: "Hello Dr Li, my name is Shen Xiaosi and I've been assigned as your new PA for the next three months by Elder Qin. I realize this is a probationary period."

Li Xiuying: "Mmm"

Shen Xiaosi: "Dr Li I actually called due to something I have found on one of your timetables for next week and I just wanted to flag this up to you. On Tuesday's theater list previously there were only 8 people on your list and now there are 9."

Li Xiuying: "Interesting. Name?"

Shen Xiaosi: "Si Peijing scheduled to have a cholecystectomy. I've looked into her background. She is the wife of a low ranking politician Kuang ZeDong. However rumor has it that he has managed to latch onto someone who is quite influential and will be going up in the ranks. They also have a son called Kuang Chung who is a manager in Emerald hospital."

Li Xiuying: "Send a bill."

Shen Xiaosi: "Yes Dr Li a bill will be sent to Mrs Si Peijing the Evening She returns home from her surgery."

Li Xiuying: "Good." She was pleased with her new PA's ability to deduce and implement her plan with minimal instruction. Nonetheless she would wait and reserve judgement until she had watched Shen Xiaosi at work for longer; she didn't want to deal with another Jiang Huan.

Shen Xiaosi: "Erm Dr Li may I be bold and offer my opinion?"

Li Xiuying: "Sure."

Shen Xiaosi: "I think that Jiang Huan will continue adding people to your theater list whenever possible. Furthermore, she must have either made contacts in the hospital over this short period or she already had contacts within the hospital."

Li Xiuiyng spoke with certainty: "Indeed."

Shen Xiaosi: "I apologize for overstepping my position." He should have known that Dr Li was someone who was incredibly perceptive and would have already figured this out for herself.

Li Xiuying: "No apology necessary."

Shen Xiaosi: "Is there anything else you require me to do?"

Li Xiuying: "Not for now."

Shen Xiaosi: "I look forward to meeting you Dr Li. I won't disturb you any longer."

Li Xiuying: "Good work. Bye"

Li Xiuying put down her phone and smirked. Jiang Huan was acting a lot quicker than she expected. It seemed that Jiang Huan was intent upon digging her own grave; there were no more chances for her to be given. Clearly Jiang Huan was becoming stupider as time went out otherwise could she really think that her misdoings could escape the eyes of Li Xiuying?

Yao Changying: "What are you smiling at?"

Li Xiuying looked up with a straight face: "Stupidity."

Yao Changying: "Yeah sometimes I just laugh when I think about all the stupidity I've witnessed."

Li Xiuying: "Lunch?"

Yao Changying: "Yep, I'm starving."

Night Club - Wednesday night

Qin Song was with He Minzhe and Shen Qiu sitting in the VIP section. There were women either side of them and drinks in their hands.

Qin Song: "Could all you lovely ladies please excuse us? We have some things to discuss."

All the women had disappointed looks on their faces as they walked away and kept looking back as they went.

He Minzhe: "Bro why are you being suck a c**k block tonight?"

Qin Song gave him a cold look.

Shen Qiu: "Is something going on?"

Qin Song nodded

5 minutes later He Minzhe and Shen Qiu were still staring at a quiet Qin Song.

He Minzhe: "Bro are you going to say something or are you waiting for us to develop telepathy?"

Qin Song: "My step- mother said something."

Shen Qiu: "I thought Aunt Qin wasn't one to cause trouble? What did she say?"

He Minzhe: "Song can you just spit it out."

Qin Song: "She said I like someone."

He Minzhe and Shen Qiu looked at each other and then back at Qin Song.

He Minzhe: "And? You like a lot of women. I like a lot of women. I like both the women who were sitting on my l.a.p earlier. What's the big deal?"

Qin Song: "Not l.u.s.t you moron."

Shen Qiu: "Who?"

Qin Song became quiet once again.

He Minzhe: "Why won't you say? Does she have a face that could scare an evil spirit?"

Shen Qiu slapped the back of He Minzhe's head.

He Minzhe rubbed the back of his head, shooting Shen Qiu and irritated look.

He Minzhe suddenly thought about a certain evil spirit that haunted Qin Song. He clutched his c.h.e.s.t dramatically: "You didn't start liking Zhou FengMian did you? Has she finally worn you down?"

Qin Song gave an irritated look: "Li Xiuying."

Shen Qiu: "Why does that name sound so familiar? Was she in the news recently?"

Qin Song: "Dr. Li Xiuying international surgeon."

Shen Qiu: "Okay Aunt Qin said you like Li Xiuying. Do you think you like her?"

Qin Song: "I honestly don't know." He had never really had romantic feelings for anyone before. He always remained emotionally detached. The women in his life were there just to satiate his physical needs. Anytime they even tried to suggest they wanted more he would shut them down. He wouldn't even sleep with the same woman twice.

He Minzhe: "Seriously did you lose your IQ or something? This is such an easy situation to solve. Listen to Minzhe's management plan that will be sure to yield a miracle. We'll know for sure if you like her or not." Shen Qiu and Qin Song gave He Minzhe a dubious look. His ideas always ended with disaster and destruction.

Shen Qiu: "Does it matter if you like her? Is she the type of women who would entertain the idea of dating an engaged man? Wasn't an article released about her cousin and ex-fiancé? Do you think she would be willing to do the same thing?"

Qin Song sighed: "I need to hurry my plans to get rid of Zhou FengMian anyway. If it's possible she's become crazier."

He Minzhe: "She'll be out of the picture in no time. If our brother here realizes that he wants to chase Li Xiuying maybe it will give him more of an incentive to get rid of our resident witch. God knows she's been in our lives for too long." Zhou FengMian always had ways to track Qin Song down wherever he went. It was only a matter of time before she showed up at the club tonight. Perhaps she really was a sorceress and channeled her dark arts to put a locator spell on Qin Song.

Shen Qiu relented: "We might as well hear him out."

Qin Song: "Fine."

He Minzhe started hashing out his plan.
