Granting You A Second Life

Zhōu Shàoqiáng couldn't figure out what the drug was. He was irritated that he was being put in such a situation because of someone else's actions. He needed to find out the motives behind owner Lài's actions. He believed he had a rough idea, but needed to confirm his suspicions.

Zhōu Shàoqiáng tone was relaxed and polite as he finally responded: "Owner Lài was there possibly a particular reason you called us here? Perhaps it would have been better to call in Mr Xǔ Junjie to recount the events of the evening after-all it is his story you are curious about." He placed his cup back on the saucer and flicked the cup causing it to ring. He wanted to make it clear that he knew that the tea was tainted.

Owner Lài chuckled: "Ah but then I wouldn't have had the opportunity to hear your side of tonight's events."

Zhōu Shàoqiáng: "Owner Lài, I believe that Miss Jia has detailed her version of tonight's events. I think we have taken up enough of your time. We can compensate you for the trouble that has occurred?"

Owner Lài: "No need for compensation. I wish all of you a good night. I'm sure tomorrow all of this will seem like a distant memory. Perhaps fate will allow us to partake in each other's company in the near future." His words clearly held a deeper meaning.

Zhōu Shàoqiáng smirked: "This will not be a night that's easily forgotten." He had to get Chong Honghui's blood tested as soon as possible. He was weighing up the possibility that either he has a tolerance to the drug or his drink unlike Chong Honghui was not drugged. It was clear that he was not Owner Lài's target.

Owner Lài elegantly laughed.

Zhōu Shàoqiáng stood up and adjusted the sleeves of his shirt: "Owner Lài." He walked to the door with confident strides.

Jia Kuai Hua pouted and wanted to refuse to leave, she wanted to form a connection with Owner Lài. "Shàoqiáng gege can we stay a little tiny bit lon..." She immediately swallowed down the rest of her words when she saw the look on Zhōu Shàoqiáng face.

Zhōu Shàoqiáng had, had enough of this woman, she didn't seem so bad when he had met her previously but it seems she was just hiding her true self. He turned away and opened the door.

Chong Honghui stood up and offered his hand to Jia Kuai Hua.

Chong Honghui: "Enjoy the rest of your evening Owner Lài."

Jia Kuai Hua spoke in a cutesy voice which held a hint of disappointment: "Bye Bye Owner Lài."

As they exited the room, the manager walked over and handed three envelopes to Jia Kuai Hua.

The manager then led them towards the back of restaurant and out of an exit which was partially obscured from sight. A Valet was waiting with Zhōu Shàoqiáng's car.

Manager: "Have a pleasant Night."

Shen Qiu: "Oh look they're finally out. I wonder why Lài Yongliang would want to meet them. Well anyway, the flowery guy seemed to be interested in Li Xiuying don't you think Song?"

He Minzhe: "Do you really think that she would even consider dating him? Look at who his friends are some psychopathic bunny boiler entraptress and some guy with silver spoons in all his orifices."

Shen Qiu quirked a brow: "Entraptress is that Cantonese or Mandarin?"

He Minzhe said proudly: "It's Minzhe-nese."

He Minzhe was full of humor: "Song, you appeared to be pretty close to stepping in to save the damsel in the black dress."

Shen Qiu looked pointedly at Qin Song: "Indeed you did."

He Minzhe: "But Xǔ Junjie beat our poor Song to the punch line in order to save his girlfriend."

Qin Song ignored His friends: "Let's go."

Tonight had given Qin Song a few things to think about. Firstly, Xǔ Junjie was interested in that woman called Ren Daiyu so he wasn't worth a second thought. Secondly, that flowery guy seemed like he was incredibly interested in Li Xiuying. Thirdly, he finally realized that he had feelings for Li Xiuying and the bitter feeling inside him at this very moment was jealousy. Lastly, he didn't like the feeling of liking someone nor did he like the feeling of jealousy. He would have to think about what he would do about all these foreign feelings.

Outside The Front of The Restaurant

Ren Daiyu who had finally escaped Xǔ Junjie's clutches was opening the front passenger side door: "Thank you for your help Mr Xǔ."

Xu Junjie:"Please call me Junjie. I can drive all of you home?"

Ren Daiyu: "No thank you Mr Xǔ, we will be going back with YingYing." She slipped into her seat and closed the door.

Yao Changying got into the back, whilst Li Xiuying opened her door and waited.

Li Xiuying: "Xǔ Junjie, don't think you can just force someone into a relationship. Do you think that you can just say a few words and manhandle a woman and she'll be blinded by love? Do you have ertomania?" With that said she got in the car and sped away.

Xǔ Junjie sighed as he watched Li Xiuying drive away: "Looks like I will have to win over Dr Li before I can chase after Daiyu. And what the hell is ertomania?"

Yao ChangYing burst out laughing: "YingYing you are hilarious."

Ren Daiyu: "What's ertomania? It's not what I think it is, is it?"

Yao ChangYing moved her eyebrows up and down: "And what do you think it is prosecutor Ren?"

Li Xiuying smiled.

Ren Daiyu blushed a little: "Stop teasing me!"

When Yao ChangYing finished laughing she proceeded to explain: "It's a rare psychiatric condition. A delusional paranoid belief in which a person strongly believes that someone is in love with them."

Ren Daiyu started giggling: "Ohhhh. I bet he's looking up what ertomania is right now. He he."

Yao ChangYing: "What made it even better was his reaction. He had no idea how he was even being insulted. He looked so confused."

Ren Daiyu: "You know our YingYing diagnoses everyone with a medical condition. Let me tell you about the elevator guy ..." She retold the events from earlier that day.

Ren Daiyu and and Yao Changying had fun teasing Li Xiuying. Li Xiuying lent against her window with one arm, she rested her head on her hand whilst she drove back to her apartment

Yao Changying: "Daiyu, I have to ask. Why would your father want to set you up with someone like him? Are your parents forcing you to marry him or something?"

Ren Daiyu sighed. She knew that she couldn't avoid talking about this topic: "It's nothing like that. As you probably gathered from tonight's events, I had a really messy break up with my ex. He cheated with my best friend. The betrayal cut deep and to be honest it still hurts now even though it's been a year. I've been avoiding relationsh.i.p.s both platonic and romantic. My dad thought that it would be good to gently get me back into the dating game. He really just wanted to ease me back into dating and he thought that since I grew up with Chong Honghui it would be more comfortable for me. "

Yao Changying quirked a brow: "Comfortable like being in shark infested waters?"

Ren Daiyu: "My dad just doesn't know what Chong Honghui is really like. That guy is a white lotus; he's always wearing a mask."

Yao Changying: "Your dad needs to witness what he's actually like."

Li Xiuying: "I've recorded the incident."

Ren Daiyu: "What? When?"

Yao Changying asked at the same time; "When?!"

Li Xiuying: "When Daiyu was busy in Xǔ Junjie's arms."

Ren Daiyu pouted: "Hmph. You're lucky your driving and I can't do anything or else! I wasn't in his arms okay, I was imprisoned in his clutches."

Yao Changying: "Ah the clutches of love."

Ren Daiyu: "Didn't he have ertomania? Why are you suddenly saying its love?!"

Yao Changying: "Yeah but you may have e.r.o.t.i.c mania."

Ren Daiyu blushed: "Changying!"

Li Xiuying chuckled.

Yao Changying: "Okay okay I'll stop teasing you. YingYing what are you going to do with the recording?"

Li Xiuying: "Send it to Ren Guiton. Then the recording will be edited."

Yao Changying and Ren Daiyu leaned towards Li Xiuying in anticipation: "And then?"

Li Xiuying: "Let's head upstairs." She unfastened her seat belt and proceeded to leave the car.

Ren Daiyu and Yao Changying quickly followed Li Xiuying's lead.

Ren Daiyu: "YingYing, I want to hear the recording before you send it to my dad. YingYing wait for us!"
