Guardian Of The World

Chapter 17 - Will-O-Wisp

Almost all players stayed at East Continent. No, they don't stay there, they lived there. There was no in and out on the continent and most players believe that the whole game is circulated in East Continent but some lucky players revealed that there are other continents ready to be explored.

A player named Juice was the first player to step foot on another continent. He posted a video leak in the internet and in the video, it showed how he had arrive at West Continent. It was a short video but it helped the players to find out that there are continents in this game ready to be discovered.

Since there was West and East Continent, there should be the North and South continent but when the Top 1 Black Magician in the unified rankings posted a video, the internet went in uproar. His name was Jeh, in his video. He clearly stated that he had arrived in a new continent called hell and show some of its terrain and monsters, it was enough for the viewers to find out that he was telling the truth.

So the game became more mysterious and mysterious every time they found out another clue of its origin.

'Why am I in another continent? How the hell did I end up here?' Kris said to himself.

"Did you just say East Continent?" Kris asked the king and stood them from their knees.

"Ah! Yes, I thought you knew savior so your from somewhere far away is it?" The king spoke making a light smile.

"Please don't call me Savior, just call me Kris and yes I came from far away." Kris spoke scratching his forehead.

"Well, Savior Kris, my name is Belmund, King of Seville Kingdom. Although were the smallest determining in size and population when compared to the other 7 Kingdoms but we have the most bountiful in our own goods like our crops, fruits, and we also have very valuable gemstones but because of the abyssal crack getting wider and wider in each day passing, we could hardly get some because of the strong monsters appearing in that area. 'An S+ rank! This is the first time seeing one! An S ranked difficulty is already difficult yet its an S+, no wonder that entire continent is affected in this quest.' Kris thought to himself and observed the soldiers.

They looked very pity even the king was tearing up. In their eyes, they felt a sense of relief after seeing Kris and hoping that he would would be the solution for their problem.

Kris didn't want them to be in vain but the difficulty of the quest was too difficult for him and he had just started on having a new beginning yet he's already near at the end and wanted to cherish this time.

"I..." Kris thoroughly rambled his mind before making a choice but after he could, a window popped up infront of him.

Ding!

'What?' Kris was in shock seeing that he needed to return back. This was a forceful transport and he couldn't abide it so he returned back to his sense made an answer.

"I declined but don't worry, if this kingdom gets in trouble again, I'll be there to help."

Ding!

YOU HAVE DECLINED THE QUEST!

"Ah, I see... it was a bit sudden for me to make such reckless imprudence but here, you can have this." The king removed one of his earrings and gave it to Kris.

"An earring?" Kris asked while inspecting the accessory. It had a symbol of a lion and on the eye part of the lion had a golden gem attached to it.

"Its a token that will be the sign of your helping hand. If you ever return here, you'll have a special authority that is comparable to mine and it will also help you in dangerous situation so keep it on at all times." King Belmund happily spoke with a calm smile.

"He, he disappeared!" King Belmund shout in amazement.

"It must be a spatial transportation." His assistant thought of that idea.

*****

Beforehand, Shin had searched for Kris' whereabouts.

'There you are!' Shin had found Kris along with three other people who seemed to be NPCs.

'Why is he talking to NPCs? Is this his reward from that quest?' Shin quietly inspected them from a tree.

'Their going away! Now's my chance!' Shin saw that the NPCs where leaving Kris behind and used this as a good chance to make an ambush.

Shin leaped through the air and aimed his two short swords at Kris.

"Die for Master!" Shin shouted this phrase. His short swords began to erupt dark violet aura that moved with the momentum of the thrust.

Before Shin could stab right through Kris. Kris began to emanate a bright flash blinding Shin's vision.

'Khyaak! What's happening.'

Wiissshh!

The stab only slashed down through the wind and Kris' whereabouts disappeared.

'Where did he go?' Shin searched his vicinity but couldn't feel any trails of movement from players.

Kris had completely disappeared and nowhere to be found.

'There is no way he could log out since logging out shouldn't have a blinding effect. Did he actually find out that I was planning an ambush and cast a blinding spell at me for him to flee?' He thought of that idea.

But there was no way that Kris could do that perfect timing so Shin continued on searching for clues.

'Not one footprint huh, did he use an instant transmission skill or a spatial skill?' He still couldn't believe in what happened but when he was about to continue his pursuit, Shin was greeted by a notification bell.

Ding!

BRAD::>> Shin where U at? Lennon has been waiting for you. 😊

"Crap! Master is calling me!" Shin clenched his fist after knowing that his vengeance wasn't relinquished.

" Tsk! Lucky brat, I'll find you, and I will kill you!" After his last words, Shin turned into smoke of clouds and completely dissipated in thin air not leaving any footprints behind.

In front of the Widowed Cave, there was a small ball of wisp that's the size of a marble slowly floated through the air. It didn't move in any direction but just floated up top. It spun along with the floating causing for the mana nearby to circulate the wisp like a sphere.

The wisp's size grew larger every second passed and the glow it emitted brightened.

It made wriggling noises after it reached its maximum size. Now it was comparable to a size of a basketball.

Peong!

The wisp exploded releasing a bright flash that quickly spread towards the Black Forest.

This was the first time that the whole black forest could be seen in the n.a.k.e.d eye for a short moment. This result alarmed not only the monsters in the area, but also the players who are hunting wether solo or party.

"What the hell was that?" An archer asked his teammate who were in the middle of fighting a pack of black wolves after seeing the light spreading through the forest.

"I don't know but we should check it out, it must be some amazing phenomenon and we might get lucky and find valuables or unfortunate but we should go now!" A mage said to his teammates.

"Yes, leave the wolves, we should go before the other players arrive their!" It was a wise choice from their party leader. They hurriedly dashed through the source of the light.

***

From the wisp, a man appeared wearing black hooded cloak that covered most of his body.

His pale skin made him look more of a walking corpse.

This man held shining silvery swords in his hands.

He was non other than Kris who had just returned from the Guardian quest.
