Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 19 Announcement of Candidates

Neither Harry nor Ron could understand Hermione's anger. They always thought that after experiencing so many things together, Hermione would no longer be angry over such trivial matters.

Of course, she did often get angry about things that everyone thought there was no need to care about, but both Harry and Ron knew that she wasn't really angry.

But this time is different.

Confused, they returned to the dormitory.

The next morning, many people had already signed up for the Triwizard Tournament.

All of Durmstrang's representatives acted together and put their names into the Goblet of Fire, while no one else had yet acted.

But soon, the twins started performing.

They came together with Lee Jordan, and the age-enhancing agent was their hope. The twins believed that they could not only pass the restrictions set by Dumbledore, but also win the game and get a thousand gold galleons.

George jumped into the circle with Fred.

For a moment, everyone thought they had succeeded.

But the moment was over quickly.

The twins seemed to be thrown out by invisible hands, flew backwards out of the circle, and fell hard to the ground on their buttocks.

In addition, as they moaned in pain, long white beards sprouted from their faces.

Everyone burst into laughter.

Then they got up and saw each other's twins laughing wildly.

The lively scene continued until Dumbledore showed up and took the twins to the school hospital to have their beards removed. Then they ushered in the Beauxbatons students who had signed up en masse.

However, the students of Hogwarts have given up trying to pass Dumbledore's restrictions. They have begun to choose the champions of their own houses and cheer them on.

Hufflepuff's Cedric Diggory was very popular, and there was a seventh-year girl from Gryffindor, but no one from Slytherin.

Because they know that no one is stronger than Lu Ke, and Lu Ke is not old enough.

This is a subtle Slytherin-like behavior. Since Lu Ke can't sign up, no other Slytherin will sign up.

As for Ravenclaw, they don't seem to have much interest in the competition.

While everyone was arguing over which student could represent Hogwarts, Hermione suddenly thought of Hagrid.

"I haven't shown him my badge yet!"

Ron disappeared just like yesterday, and Harry reluctantly followed Hermione to Hagrid's hut.

To their surprise, Hagrid looked seriously dressed up at this time.

He was wearing a very serious suit and asked Ron curiously when he saw the two people.

Hermione did not answer the question, but began to tell Hagrid about her House Elf Rights Promotion Society.

But to Harry's surprise, Hagrid directly rejected Hermione's view.

"House elves like to take care of humans. It is their natural instinct. Can you stop Pegasus from flying? Yes, but that is cruel to them."

Hermione didn't think so. She was shocked that Hagrid would think so, and she couldn't accept that he said this calmly.

"If you knew house elves as well as Lu Ke, you wouldn't think so. He is the one who has worked hard for house elves."

Hermione was stunned for a moment, and Harry looked at Hagrid very curiously: "What did Lu Ke do?"

Hagrid shook his head: "Lu Ke was friends with all the house elves in Hogwarts. He once wanted to make the house elves change, but later he found that it was all in vain."

Harry glanced at Hermione, and to his surprise, there was no surprise on Hermione's face.

"You know this?"

Hermione glanced at Harry: "What does that mean?"

Harry was speechless.

Throughout the afternoon, Hermione argued with Hagrid. They kept talking about whether the house elves should change. Hermione became more and more desperate. Although she brought up the example of Dobby the house elf, she still couldn't be convinced. Hagrid.

When dinner was about to begin, Hagrid suddenly stopped arguing and began to clean up.

He took out a large bottle of perfume and sprayed it on his beard, causing Harry and Hermione to rush out of the hut.

Hagrid panicked. He probably realized that the perfume was not suitable for him, and he quickly dove into the basin.

Harry looked confused, wondering why Hagrid was acting like this suddenly.

Then Hermione patted Harry's arm: "Look."

Harry turned around and saw Madame Maxime walking towards the castle.

At that moment, Harry understood everything.

Today's dinner is also a Halloween dinner, at which the list of selected warriors will be announced.

Everyone felt that today's dinner was unbearably long. That might be because it was a dinner for two days in a row, or it might be that everyone just wanted to know the final warrior candidate as soon as possible.

Finally, when all the gold plates on the long table disappeared, Dumbledore announced that the results were about to come out.

They waited for a long time, and finally, a note was sprayed out from the flames of the Goblet of Fire.

Dumbledore stepped forward to pick up the note, and then loudly announced: "Victor Bloom, Champion of Durmstrang!"

Everyone let out a cheer, and Ron shouted excitedly: "Who else can it be!"

After a long time, the crowd slowly subsided, and then the Goblet of Fire spat out a second note.

"Beauxbatons, Fleur Delacour!"

The cheers were much quieter this time.

Ron glanced worriedly at where the Beauxbatons students were. Although two students who were not selected were crying in disappointment, Kathleen, who was not old enough to begin with, looked indifferent.

The two selected warriors walked to a small room on the side of the hall, where the referee made preliminary confirmation with them and taught them the most basic precautions.

Then came the third note, and everyone waited with bated breath.

"The Champion of Hogwarts is, Cedric Diggory!"

All Gryffindors were disappointed.

But the Hufflepuffs burst into cheers.

The cheers were particularly prolonged this time, and it took a lot of effort for Dumbledore to silence everyone.

He then asked Cedric to enter the small room while preparing to announce that the selection of the Warriors was over.

But at this moment, another piece of paper was sprayed out from the Goblet of Fire.

In the dead silence, Dumbledore raised his hand and took the note.

Then he glanced around: "Lu Ke."

A low hum instantly echoed through the hall, and disturbing doubts were everywhere.

Lu Ke stood up helplessly and walked to Dumbledore.

"I think... there must be something wrong. For safety reasons..."
