Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 71 Under the Black Lake

Looking at the surrounding walls, Lu Ke sighed helplessly.

Even the walls here are black that have been soaked in water for a long time. There is only a candle far away, which can only illuminate a small area, and there is a large shadow in the middle.

Then Lu Ke stopped unexpectedly.

He saw something very strange.

It was something hidden in the shadows, and because it was black, you couldn't see it unless you looked carefully.

Lu Ke walked over and took it off the wall.

This is a heavy black iron ball with a hollow inside, seemingly made of pig iron, with two small circular glasses inlaid on the front.

There was a big hole in the ball, and a muddy smell came from inside.

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment.

If he guessed correctly, this is a diving helmet.

"So this is the Room of Requirement...I almost forgot."

Lu Ke put the diving helmet on his head, and then felt a strange force flash through his neck.

Lu Ke sighed deeply inside the helmet, then picked up the basin of algae and walked into the lake behind the door.

It felt a bit like walking out of the common room late at night, leaving warmth and light behind, only to be greeted by darkness and coldness.

It was pitch black under the deep water of the Black Lake, and all Lu Ke could see was the small area illuminated by the algae in his hand.

Paddling forward with difficulty and awkward postures, Lu Ke moved forward according to the location of the giant squid's nest on the map in his memory.

After getting used to the darkness, Lu Ke could see more things. This place looked like the bottom of a valley, with upward slopes on all sides. There were unknown algae growing on it, like a piece of grass.

Soon Lu Ke was entangled in water plants, and his movements became more and more difficult.

Fortunately, the air inside this diving helmet is always fresh, so there is no need to worry about suffocation.

Going all the way down the steep slope, Lu Ke soon saw the lowest point here.

It was under a cliff and it looked pitch black.

Lu Ke slowly approached, and then he saw something noteworthy.

There seems to be a hole in the cliff.

I don’t know if the giant squid’s nest is here, but it’s very suspicious.

Lu Ke sped up.

Then he heard a strange sound coming from the water.

It's very quiet at such a deep depth.

Although it may be that the water surface and the diving helmet blocked most of the sound, Lu Ke's ears were indeed completely silent before, but now, he heard a very strange sound.

It was like a strong wind, or something moving in the water.

That must be huge.

Lu Ke stopped.

Then I desperately realized that I couldn't do anything now.

At the edge of the area illuminated by the algae, a huge tentacle appeared like lightning, making a terrifying sound.

Compared to Lu Ke, the diameter of a tentacle is almost larger than his height.

This is something Lu Ke absolutely cannot fight against, the most eye-catching resident of the Black Lake, the giant squid.

Its shadows are like clouds on an overcast sky, and its borders cannot be seen at all.

Lu Ke quickened his pace.

But this is underwater after all, and Lu Ke's movements are too slow for the squid.

Almost instantly, a tentacle wrapped around Lu Ke.

The first thing that Lu Ke noticed was that he was out of breath.

Although Lu Ke was born with great strength, the cuttlefish was even stronger.

Lu Ke struggled and raised his hands.

He used his right hand to support a triangular space in front of his chest, and then raised the basin filled with algae with his left hand.

Although this was different from what he had promised, Lu Ke no longer cared about why the giant squid was not afraid of algae.

With such a huge power gap, Algae is now the only hope.

Then Lu Ke discovered that his basin was too deep and the algae was placed in it. If you didn't look from directly above, you couldn't see it at all.

But now trapped by the tentacles, Lu Ke was sure that the squid could see the algae.

Because he had been placed in front of the squid by the tentacles, and right next to Lu Ke, a huge dark eye was looking at him.

It was a round jet-black crystal that was taller than Lu Ke. The golden light of the algae shone on it, like a mirror, and one could clearly see Lu Ke's funny appearance wearing a diving helmet.

Then the tentacles let go.

Everything happened so fast, like a tornado.

The squid's tentacles streaked through the water, creating terrifying waves that pushed Lu Ke far away. By the time he regained his balance and could look around, the giant squid had completely disappeared.

It was like the power suddenly went out in the middle of a movie.

Lu Ke couldn't help but smile, and then realized that he was very close to his goal.

He is now at the deepest point, under the cliff, with the cave entrance in front of him.

The only problem is that the hole seems a little too small.

The hole in front of Lu Ke was just big enough for him to get in without having to lower his head. If it were an ordinary squid, it would be enough no matter what, but for a giant squid like just now, this size is definitely not enough.

But Lu Ke didn't hesitate at all. He walked into the cave entrance holding the algae.

What appeared in front of Lu Ke was a place like a honeycomb, a huge circular space with dense holes everywhere, each one the same size as the entrance, and it was dark behind, and he didn't know where it led.

But Lu Ke didn't care about this, because he had already seen his goal.

Directly opposite the entrance, there is an opening, behind which is a lighted space containing a marble bust of Ravenclaw.

In such a dark space, the white light could not be more obvious, and Lu Ke walked over without hesitation.

Once you get into the cave, you can clearly see that this is a miniature version of the honeycomb cave. The white light that illuminates the space comes from countless small holes in the stone wall.

Lu Ke lowered his head and looked at the bust of Ravenclaw in front of him.

In front of the bust, there is a piece of parchment, a quill, and an empty inkwell.

Lu Ke was stunned for a moment, and suddenly remembered something.

It seems that squid is related to ink.

But this is definitely not good news.

If you want to get the ink sprayed by the squid, you need to make the squid feel an absolute threat. For Lu Ke now, this is simply impossible.

Of course, he could try to scare these primitive and simple giant animals, but as a result, he would probably be washed away somewhere.

And now, Lu Ke seems to have no idea where to find the giant squid.

He turned around helplessly and walked out of the cave.

Standing in the center of this huge hive, Lu Ke's sigh echoed inside the diving helmet.

At this point, Lu Ke was at his wits end.
