I Reincarnated as a Shinai

Reiji was silently observing the Armored Black Ape that was currently licking the wounds on his arms. It seems that the wounds couldn't easily be healed just by relying on his Spiritual Energy. 

Reiji can feel the Ape's energy so he was sure that the beast was attempting to close those wounds just like how Diether heals himself.

"Good… Just stay like that…" He silently prayed since he wanted this to be done quickly. If he didn't finish this off instantly, he might struggle to fight against the large Ape.

Luckily, the beast wasn't in a mood to move yet due to the exhaustion from the previous battle. 

"Grrr…" The Ape grumbled due to the pain from those wounds. Reiji had a sudden hunch that the sword wasn't a simple blade but it might be an Arcana or a Magic Weapon with unknown effects.

Reiji had noticed that the ape waited until Orga was out of sight before he put down his guard and treated himself. It means that he was feeling safe right now and it was the best time to attack.

Suddenly, the Ape looked around and after confirming that no other beasts were around, he shook his arm and the arm's bone armor was suddenly removed!

It seems that it was a retractable thing and Reiji realized that this was the best time to take action!

The shinai floated silently on top of the Ape. The dull tip of the shinai was pointed on top of the ape's head.

He practiced this a lot of times during the past few weeks so he was sure that he wouldn't be detected unless they have some special ability that he was not aware of. His movement was swift and minimal…

Reiji immediately increased his weight to its maximum… 

Fifty kilograms! It was the maximum weight he could put on himself or the shinai. However, it wasn't enough for Reiji. He wanted to make sure that even if the ape survives the first sneak attack, he would be able to follow up!

"Weight Overload!"

A skill that would cost 10 SP once used for 30 seconds! Spending 10 SP should be fine at this point in order to complete his current mission…

As soon as this happened, Reiji or the shinai dropped instantly!

It was headed towards the skull of the unaware Armored Black Ape…

Blood splattered around after Reiji descended!

"Rooaaarr!"

The Ape roared in pain! He managed to tilt its head a bit and was only hit on its shoulder! However, that was still a critical blow! The ape was doomed at this point.

Almost half of the shinai's body was inserted into the Ape's body!

"Overload!"

The beast immediately felt that its entire body was becoming heavy… He tried to remove the wooden sword with his two arms but he failed to do so! It feels like it was stuck on him! 

Then, the ape felt that he was losing his consciousness.

To Reiji's surprise, another skill or perhaps mission was triggered. Reiji happily activated the blood draining technique!

[ Consuming blood… ] 

[ A high-quality blood has been consumed. ] 

At this point, the previously struggling ape already lost consciousness and fell asleep forever.

"Great! I did it… But that's it, guide? That was weird… Where are the enhancement and the new mission?"

Reiji said in the end as he remembered that the previous missions related to acquiring blood would give him a durability boost. However, there was nothing like that at this point. Aside from that, there was indeed no new mission that was created!

Something was definitely up and he doesn't know it yet. It made him really curious but it wasn't the end of notifications yet.

Apparently, this hunt resulted in another mission being completed.

"Good!"

Reiji now has 430 Skill Points and it was more than enough to buy the skill he wanted. 

[ Durability decreased by 8. ] 

"Eh?" Reiji was suddenly surprised by this. The eight points of durability was a huge deal for him. After all, he was aware of how difficult it would be to decrease them… 

[ You have been corroded by the toxic blood of the Evil Beast when you became vulnerable from the previous impact. ] 

The guide gave him an answer that seems to be correct considering the height he reached before he descended. 

"No, I shouldn't get such damage if it is only about that… Am I vulnerable whenever I'm absorbing those blood?"

It was troubling, but due to his Cleanse skill, he didn't have to worry that much.

Anyway, Reiji was amazed by his own toughness. He remembers that the Ape also had thick skin and it wasn't easily sliced by Orga. The fact that he penetrated the skin even without any visible sharpness, he could easily tell that he had improved a lot. 

"Cleanse!"

A skill that would consume his mental strength was something he was thankful for. If it needed to consume his SP as well, he was sure that it would cost a lot.

Haa~

After it was immediately activated, the corrosion stopped and the shinai became very clean again. He felt completely exhausted and was too tired to even buy the skill he wanted so badly.

It seems that the blood corrosion was something more serious than he thought it would be. In any case, Reiji already expected that aside from the core of the Evil Beast, their bodies were almost useless as they are inedible or there could be barely any profit from obtaining them. 

If there are other important things on its body, Reiji wasn't aware of it. In the meantime, he decided to take the beast's core as he felt that it was something that he should do.

This time, he didn't let any more toxic blood corrode his beloved wooden body.
