Jaeden sat slumped back on his couch at home looking at the ceiling. His mom was asking him if he wanted to eat but his mind was not there. While staring at the ceiling he was reliving the race. His first podium in an official racing season! Everyone was proud, his family, friends, team, and competitors congratulated him boosting his ego. This lasted for some time until he got home. As soon as they entered the house the fatigue kicked in. The race was far more intensive then he could have ever expected. He dragged himself to the shower and crashed into bed straight after. And now here he was sitting on the couch zoning out.

"I never had a chance to win," He thought slightly depressed with himself. Replaying the race in his mind he noticed certain things. When it came to pure speed Stephen was faster! That he could live with because he had a lot more experience with the karts and the track. The problem was his race!

They had made a decision regarding the setup and while it improved his pace over one l.a.p it almost destroyed his race. By the end of the race, he was lucky to even and in second place. Octavia, Scott, and Vincent all had more pace and the only reason he managed to stay ahead was the layout of the track. Had this been a wider track ending in fifth would be an achievement he would have to accept. Adding on to that the fact that Stephen never looked like he was in trouble made him feel like he still had a mountain to climb.

It wasn't all bad though! Through sheer willpower, he had managed to keep a firm grip on second place defending from faster drivers behind him. This showed him that even when he wasn't the fastest on track it was still possible to fight for a decent result. He would build on this and try to improve for the next race.

Thinking this he was suddenly pinched by his mom who was locking amused and annoyed at the same time. She had been calling from the kitchen a few times and eventually saw Jaeden with a blank look on his face seemingly off into a different world.

"What are you dreaming about? Dinner is ready. Help your sister set the table and let's eat!" His mom said pointing at his sister who was now getting the plates ready.

"He was probably thinking about the podium ceremony again! I saw him with a stupid grin on his face almost all day today" His sister chimed in from the kitchen.

"No way! I'm sure I wasn't" Jaeden replied.

"Yes, you were," Damian said coming down the stairs with a big smile on his face."It looked kinda creepy you know" he continued, his smile now turning into an evil grin.

"Leave me alone! You were upstairs all day so what do you know?!" said Jaeden giving his brother an angry glare. "What are you doing anyway? You haven't left your room all day?"

"I'm studying to become the manager for you and Lyssa. When I complete my study I will take over for uncle Anthony" Damian said matter of factly.

"Sure you were! As if you would ever do something like that" Jaeden said sarcastically. "If you don't want to tell us, then don't bother making up stories"

Damian just shrugged and sat down at the table. He couldn't help it if they would not believe him. Lyssa kept her gaze on him for a bit. It looked like she had something to so but eventually chose to not say anything.

The table was ready and mom sat the food on the table. Sitting down they enjoyed their meal and the time they had together as they were now all busy chasing their own dreams and goals times like this where they could just sit down and enjoy each others company would get increasingly rare.
