58 – 58. The Sunrise Again

The uneasy dawn passed unnoticed and morning arrived.

We took turns waking up and keeping watch, managing to get enough sleep.

Thanks to that, our physical conditions were completely intact. If anything, we were in even better shape.

“Fortunately, it seems like they couldn’t find us..”

Luckily, perhaps due to the vastness of the island, no one discovered us.

I worried about Nihill or Dylan launching an attack, but choosing to sleep in the ceNT*Ral part of the island, where the bushes were dense, turned out to be a good decision.

“Hold me tight..”

That’s why it’s possible for me to wake Lucia up in such a peaceful manner.

Still groggy from the morning, I embraced Lucia as she whined, soothing her.

I vaguely mentioned how I appeared in her dream and how I felt good being able to hold her when I woke up. I also added that I wanted to pounce on her when she was sleeping, but refrained from doing so due to restraint.

I’ve thought about it before,

“Indeed, even a slight touch makes you squeal with laughter and speak so well.”

With that, Lucia smiled mischievously, poking my stomach lightly and opening her mouth.

“If this is so sensitive, won’t it be troublesome when we get to the bedroom? That would be awkward, wouldn’t it?”

“…Really?”

Everyone has their own sensitive spots.

For me, it’s just an easily accessible area like the ears or thighs, posing no hindrance in s*xual activities.

“I’m seriously wounded in my pride, so be prepared for later.”

“hehehe, I’ll be looking forward to it.”

If the moment comes soon when I lose coNT*Rol, I vowed sincerely to crush this arrogant Kim Taeyang and slowly surveyed the surroundings.

“There are students gathering.”

On the other side, I noticed about three students gathered and roaming around.

“Should we take them down?”

“…No.”

It’s risky to cause a commotion here and get caught by Nicholas for no reason.

Even if the students we encounter first are weak, there’s no need to risk it when we’re not at full strength.

“So what should we do now? Just stay here quietly?”

“Surely not.”

Of course, if we don’t engage the students, we still have our own tasks to carry out.

Nicholas didn’t join Dylan and us suddenly, but the two of us are capable enough.

The only issue is that our story is so absurd that it’s hard to believe easily…

“Lucia, from now on, you must believe everything I say.”

“hehehe, when did I not believe you? Is there something to do here like last time with the Core thing?”

The current Lucia would probably believe whatever I say in the end.

Perhaps she would even believe that a frozen dinosaur with superpowers would wake up in the middle of the city.

Feeling grateful to her in an odd way, I continued.

“If the academy’s test itself is a trap to question someone, will you believe it?”

“What are you saying?”

It seemed even she couldn’t easily accept this incident.

Well, given the scale needs to be somewhat substantial, it’s a major incident involving the entire academy.

I persuaded her with great effort, causing her face to be filled with doubt.

“So that’s what happened. No wonder the test format suddenly changed.”

CoNT*Rary to my expectation that it would take a long time, she believed my words in less than 20 minutes.

“Can’t believe such a thing could be easily believed.”

It wasn’t some Truman Show, and I knew that the Academy was manipulating everything and deceiving all the students.

Considering Lucia’s great trust in me, it was still somewhat unusual.

“hehehe, who else can I trust if I don’t trust the person who will become my husband?”

Lucia responded with a word that pleased my heart.

“Really, I envy you. Is there an academy where I can learn such words?”

I hugged her, a rabbit born with a fox temperament from birth.

She seemed to be happy about that fact and bounced around, pressing her face against my chest.

“So, we have to protect this… guy named Dylan?”

The protagonist of the story I told her, and the victim of the trap created by the pirates.

Lucia asked me with a slightly displeased expression, and I nodded lightly.

Originally, that was the plan, but Nil was the variable that muddied the situation.

‘I don’t even know why he’s here.’

One thing is almost certain – he wants to kill me.

I don’t know why I had that thought, but from the first time I saw him, whenever we faced each other.

Although there were plenty of opportunities for him to attack Lucia, who was trying to protect me, he didn’t.

‘But he seemed determined to attack only me somehow…’

He moved here and there, changing directions, preparing to shoot at me.

Lucia blocked all angles from which he could shoot at her while trying to protect me.

Otherwise, I would have already become a corpse, lying on the island with bullet holes in my forehead.

Anyway, he thinks he needs to kill me now, but there is no need to kill Lucia.

If you interpret this differently, even if you ignore everything else, the conclusion is that there is a reason I must be killed.

“Hmm… something feels off about this.”

First of all, the premise that he wants to kill me is strange.

Nil wasn’t crazy enough to try to kill the person who revealed the location of his wife.

Moreover, he had a sense of urgency as if he was being chased by something.

‘There’s something I don’t know.’

I don’t know why so many things happen without the possessed even knowing what’s going on.

This might just be one of those cases.

From Noble mtl dot com

“Well, there have been times when things went my way.”

From Lucia showing interest in me to Eden randomly beating up thugs, and Francis betraying me… It feels like the list is endless, so let’s stop here.

“First of all, we should definitely avoid that guy in the fancy suit, right?”

Lucia asked cautiously while looking at my deteriorating expression.

“Yeah.”

Anyways, after thinking long and hard, I came to the conclusion of avoiding him. It took me quite some time to make such a simple decision because he could have been an ally.

The current danger is significantly greater than the potential future ally, so it’s an inevitable choice.

“Lucia, I’ll test if you’ve understood this.”

So, I chose the best course of action to achieve our goal, which is avoiding him. If luck is on our side, we can also make contact with Dylan.

“Who did we say captured our academy?”

“We said it was the pirates who hate Dylan, right?”

“In that case, who would be their actual leader?”

“Um… Is it the guy Noah, who escaped from Dylan’s clutches?”

She gets it instantly, just as I expected. The person we’re going to capture now is Heinz, posing as a professor but actually Dylan’s brother, Noah.

“The evidence that Heinz is Noah is all in the file I gave to Dylan, so Dylan will also be after Heinz.”

The best way to deal with enemies is to eliminate their leaders. Dylan knows this too, and it’s even his primary objective for coming to the academy.

“So, we’re going there, right?”

“Yes.”

If we follow him, we can potentially make a kill or, better yet, create allies along the way.

Is there a better option than that? I don’t think so.

“Besides, Noah is a stepping stone to the seventh episode in itself.”

Perhaps, because of that, we might even be able to break through straight to the eighth episode.

From the sixth episode to the eighth episode, their connections are tightly intertwined.

In order to reach the ultimate darkness that is the final Black Veil, I can choose to skip the necessary processes by using the advantage of being a Possessor.

Regardless of how you look at it, this game I’ve set up will never put me at a disadvantage.

“And, having to face all three of them is quite a burden even for Nihil.”

It is exactly the same as when I tried to accompany Dylan to avoid the pirates’ attack.

“So, where is this bad Professor Heinz that you’re talking about?”

Lucia asked me, who was self-congratulatory, about the most important thing to me.

I raised the corner of my mouth as if I had been waiting, pointed with my finger in a distant direction, and said, “CoNT*Rol Room, Heinz is there.”
