Episode 73 – My Sister’s Week. Sudden

After that, my sister’s week passed peacefully, and today is the last day, Friday. I feel like I was pampered well on Saturday and Sunday, but I couldn’t get that kind of time during the weekdays. Basically, we slept together and did other relaxing things.

I was confident that today would be okay, too, and let the history lesson, which was like reading aloud from a textbook, drip from my right ear to my left ear.

The students were not able to get into the content of the textbook even though it was read in a flat voice with no intonation, and most of them were fighting sleep to keep from falling asleep. Some of them gave up early and moved into a sound sleep position. The teacher did not warn them, so it was natural for them to try to sleep.

Halfway through the class, I repeatedly checked the clock to see how many minutes had passed, only to be disappointed when I realized that the clock had not advanced at all. Just when I was starting to think that it was time for me to go to bed, the door at the back of the classroom opened with a resounding bang.

All the students, teachers, and students who were fighting sleepiness turned their heads to look behind them. Of course, I was one of them.

A beautiful girl came in from behind, looked around the classroom, and walked quickly to the side of my seat.

“Come on, Yuuki, let’s go.”

“…… Where?”

The boys were shocked and fawning and the girls were staring at her with shining eyes when suddenly the most beautiful girl in the third grade, the [Ice Princess] walked into class. Only the teacher widened his eyes and stared at my sister.

She took my hand and made me stand up, then turned to the teacher and said, 

“Excuse me for interrupting class, but I’m going to borrow Yuuki for a minute.”

“Y-yeah. I understand.”

The teacher nodded at her, and as soon as she heard his answer, she ran out of the classroom with me. The suddenness of the event woke me up completely.

She was walking down the hallway as fast as if she were a sprinter, and I was following her.

“Hey, where are we going?”

“I’ve decided on a place. There was a cat cafe near the station.”

“Are we leaving school?”

I was surprised to hear a different answer than I expected, and the question popped out of my mouth. I thought it would be more like the infirmary or the gymnasium. If my sister was going to leave class at school, that was the first place I thought of.

I was surprised that he skipped school instead of attending classes.

“Wouldn’t you like to do that at least once? I used to take my classes seriously. I couldn’t do something like this.”

“You’re not taking it seriously now?”

“Because I’ve got everything in my head from the textbook, and it’s boring to listen to class.”

“Oh, I see…..”

Around November of her third year, she was supposed to be in exam concentration, but I can understand why she was able to escape. At the same time, I was shown the difference in status, and I realized once again how amazing my sister is.

We had already left the school gate and were walking toward the station when I realized that I had left all my belongings in the classroom. It seemed that my sister had almost nothing with her, too.

“Nee chan, the luggage……”

“It’s fine. I’ve asked Natsuki to take care of it for me. I have brought all the important things with me.”

I imagine what it would be like when Natsuki walked into the classroom and took my luggage. If a beautiful girl who entered the three major beauties entered twice a day, the surprise in the classroom would not be odd.  I chuckled as I pictured the specific situation, and thinking that I would ask Ishizaki about it later, I headed toward the station.

‘Wow ! So cute !”

Saying this in a small voice, my sister was playing with the cat with catnip. How cute.

This cat café, located about a five-minute walk from the station, it’s small and has a peaceful atmosphere. Since it was a weekday, there were no other customers in the store, so it was a private place.

Maybe because of this, more and more cats came close to my sister, and they became fluffy around her. Around me, there was a so-called “fugly cat” sitting next to me, sitting like an old man.

I was satisfied with the cute cat, but I was a little shocked to find out that there was a difference between the two. Around me, there was a so-called ugly cat sitting next to me, sitting like an uncle.

The cats at the cat café were very friendly and quiet, and one of them was trying to get on my sister’s lap. She was smiling happily, and I could feel her happiness, which made me smile.

“They’re very fond of you, Nee chan.”

“Yeah, I guess so. They’re so fluffy and smell so good.”

“I wonder if they’ll come to me, too.”

“Ah, Yuuki. Here it comes.”

When the cat on my sister’s lap started grooming itself, the ugly cute cat on my side started to climb onto my lap. It immediately climbed between my thighs and started to sit with me as its back.

“….Something’s funny about that cat.”

“This guy, it’s like an uncle. The name is……kinako. He sure looks like that.”

“She’s ochre after all.”

Kinako was sleeping when I noticed him, and his sulky look was also cat-like. After a while, I found a sign that said [Photos OK].

So we decided to take a picture. I made sure to turn off the flash.

“Nee chan, are you ready? Here I go. Okay, cheese.”

“Send it to me later, okay?”

“I know, I know.”

After she took my picture too, I checked the picture. I thought it was a very cute one, as there was so much cuteness everywhere I looked.

After exchanging pictures, my sister started to play with the cat. Since it was a valuable shutter chance, I sneak out to take a few pictures. I felt this one was more natural and better than the one taken earlier.

We left the cat cafe before noon, went to a nearby department store, had lunch, did some shopping, and headed home. Usually at this time of the day, I still have sixth period at school, and I feel a bit of the excitement of doing bad things.

“So today is the end of my week……”

“You don’t have to say it so sadly.”

“Because I won’t be able to be spoiled by Yuuki freely. I’ll get lonely.”

My sister said so while kicking a pebble that was lying on the road. Feeling uncomfortable with the word [I won’t be able to be spoiled], I try to dig a little deeper.

“Why do you think you won’t be spoiled?”

“Because I’m not only your girlfriend, but also your [big sister] and older than you. So I can’t be spoiled.”

“….Why?”

Surprisingly, I wondered if it was necessary for my sister to be concerned about such things, and then conveyed my conclusions to my sister.

“You know, Shiori. I don’t think you need to worry about the age difference, and I don’t think a two year age difference is a big deal at all. If you’re a student, it might be a big difference, but for example, 60 and 62 are not that different, right?”

‘R-right.”

“I’m sorry if my calling you [Nee chan] has made you think more as my older sister. From now on, I will call you Shiori without hesitation.”

“O-okay.”

“You don’t have to act like an older sister in front of me, Natsuki and Riko.”

When I said that with momentum, my sister thought a little. Even though I said it myself, my sister was still my sister.

She relaxed her shoulders and turned to me with a natural smile,

“It seems like I was just caught up in my title. I don’t have to live my life by acting perfect all the time, and it’s nice to be able to show my true nature without hesitation.”

“I agree.”

“Just a little bit.”

When my sister said that, she put her head on my chest and whispered, [Let me do this]. I don’t really understand, but I think that maintaining perfection or being the best is even harder and more pressured than being the second best.

I guess my sister has been living like that for a long time, and this is the first time she has loosened up. I think she has never been so dignified as to spoil people head-on or do the wrong thing.

That’s probably why she felt sad that this week was coming to an end.

As I rubbed her back, I knew I had to make sure I could be where she was.

As an aside, Natsuki and Riko were waiting for me when I arrived home, and I was dragged along from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.
